Electric Melee and Shield Defense combo,but what AT?

As the titled states, wondering what would be the best AT for pairing Elec Melee and Shield Def ?

 

One of my first toons was a Elec/Shield Brute but I struggled with finding a build that I liked. And I got to wondering maybe I would be better off re-rolling as a different AT. 

 

Any thoughts, build suggestions and tips very welcome.

Well all the ATs with these play extremely similarly except stalker which is probably better off playing as similarly as it can.

 

that being said, I’ve become a fan of scrappers 🙂 Crit crit crit crit  even if stalker does it 😞

Here's my personal way of differentiating ATs:

Play a Tank if you don't want to die, and learn to manage aggro if you don't want your teammates to die.

Play a Brute if you want to be a tank, but would much rather focus on leaving dead bodies. The Fury mechanic benefits from bigger mobs.
Play a Scrapper if you'd rather solo more than team. 
Play a Stalker if you don't mind not seeing the costume you spent an hour on... and if you don't got time for them mobs, just go and kill the boss at the end.

=). Again, not the most quantitative categorisation, but it works for me.

Yep, because this combo’s only real weakness is garbage S/T damage. Add Assassin’s Shock and no more problems detected.

I actually don’t particularly like this combination mainly because I don’t like electric melee. It has some big aoes, but they have long recharge and aren’t particularly fast.
 

I get that it’s fun to have 2 telenukes, but the fun factor wears off fast when facing a single hard target. Or even just finishing off bosses. Like Arcane said, electric melee has garbage single target damage. To me the only bearable AT for this combination is stalker.  The addition of assassins shock makes the single target situation workable, but honestly still not ideal as the single target damage is still weak.

Scrapper is still ok because the snipes help with bosses too. But Stalker is definitely best. I missed the boat on it. Have an Elec/Shield Scrapper and now an Elec/Ice Stalker.
