Thoughts:

 

1) Global Recharge is very low.   In a Defense secondary, I only have two LotGs in there.  Hasten has only 1 slot and is nowhere near Perma.  When Hasten is down, Active Defense isn't Perma, with a 7 second down time.

2) Smashing/Lethal Reisist isn't capped.  In fact, it's only at 55%.  Rune of Protection won't even cap you in this build.

3) Almost entirely all or nothing slotting - either 6 slots or none on the majority of powers.  Mass Levitate is the closest to a proc mule attack you get.

4) All positional defenses are just over the 45% cap and increase up to 55%+ when your teammates are next to you.  Incarnate powers can add to this

5) Smashing, Lethal, and Toxic resists are at 55%.  Psi at 49%.  Energy and Negative at 47%, and Fire/Cold at 32%.  It's not world beating but it's definitely decent padding.  Incarnates might help

6) There's no Heal button and no End mitigation powers.  You can slap Rune of Protection or One with the Shield, but that may not be enough.

7) +42% Accuracy and +30% damage seems a nice little bonus from set slotting.

 

Overall:  It's a scrapper, not a tank.  I tried to buff out defense and resistances to a decent level so that I'm performing well, but I still expect to be eating dirt whenever I scrapperlock and get in over my head.  I'm not sure it's really got any great damage burst potential, but I do like the Procs in Mass Levitate.  The main thing to balance is Time to Kill vs Survivability vs Downtime due to lack of end or hp, which will require playtime to determine what needs to be altered and how.

I'm a secret fan of psi melee, although I haven't found the right pairing for it yet (just leveled up a psi/ice and that was close...).  You've done a good job of getting some really high mitigation numbers, and I suspect this might not be as squishy as you may think.

 

I feel like you are chasing a lot of set bonuses, particularly for psi/toxic resist.  Maybe that's the new world we'll be living in, but I tend to be willing to give up on some hard/soft caps for a bit of mitigation.

 

I'm 100% with you on Mass Levitate's slotting.  In crowds (which you will be in most of the time) it will be the norm that your procs will be going off.  I don't usually run Hasten on Shield builds (or anything with click mitigation) but that +100% recharge from FF will be very useful regardless.

 

I'd like a healing "oh no!" power like One with the Shield or Unrelenting from the presence pool more than a resistance power like Rune of Protection.  I'd also like to slip some slow protection in there.

An absolutely first-world problem is the 2 second delay between activating Mass Levitate and the damage being inflicted.  Super annoying to get a critical strikes and an insight and waste your G. Psi Blade attack on something that has already died.

/Shield is the correct pairing.  Charge fleshes out AoE options and coupled with ML makes for excellent mitigation via juggling. I ran a Psi/Nin to the mid 40s, re-rolled to /SD and it immediately became my main scrapper. Besides, matching the Energy Shield colors to PM attack effects looks just epic.

 

I'm considering making changes or an alt build for Hard Mode stuff, but the only thing I might end up changing for sure is getting one or two pieces of Hypersonic into EvM; at least the Fly protection piece. Also considering exchanging the Unbreakable proc in GPB for the +Absorb one from SupEntomb as an experiment.

 

Ignore the boosting where it doesn't make sense to be boosted.  IDK how to get mids to boost individually, so in game only pieces with an enhancement value (all of them tho) are actually boosted.  I went a little bonkers with them just for kicks. 😄

In mids, when you're about to slot an IO into a power, hover your mouse over it first and then hit the plus or minus key on your keyboard to adjust an individual IO's boosting. Once you've hit plus 5 times click on it and the slotted IO will be a +5 boosted IO.

Yeah. Should have been more specific. Its definitely an issue with my Mids install.  Half the time those +/- icons don't show on mouse-hover, and the other half they display but do nothing. 

 

Much like Rainier Wolfcastle's Goggles.

I haven't figured out a way to work it into my actual build, but this delayed damage affect means that -Res from a proc in ML is applied before damage is calculated.  ML is one of a handful of powers boosted by its own FotG in a single activation. Food for thought.

how are you guys finding psi? i’ve been tempted to make a psi/something scrapper. boggle seems like it could be fun on rikti guardians and similar for free buffs

 

like @Yomo Kimyata i’ve been tempted by /ice, a mixed bag of fun powers rather than min/maxing. elec also tempting but i suspect it would underperform on a scrapper

I love it, but I rarely pay attention to Insight and I didn't pick up Boggle.  So I'm probably playing it poorly.  But it's been fun to level, and Shield Charge > Mass Levitate> Psi Blade Sweep is very fun

This is one I have been working on. I wasn't super focused when doing it and frequently left and came back at some future point and tried to figure out where I left off and what I was thinking at the time. After a little more tweaking a feel decent about it and will likely transfer it to test soon and see how it does. I welcome any and all input/criticism. Builds aren't a strong suit for me.

Necroing an old topic, my apologies.

I looked at a few of the builds here. I couldn't get them to open in Mids, likely because I'm dumb and because of the different versions of mids. I put my own together below. For the senseis out there, what do you think of the Psi/Shield pairing? How can I improve the build? Having fun leveling it after a longer break from the game.

I played around a bit in game and in mids. Landed on this after browsing a few other topics.
Single target feels nice. I considered getting an epic pool aoe like Ball Lightning, but this felt easier to build. Many of the other builds chose Agility for their alpha slot. I have soft cap without it. Maybe its worth the extra cushion against cascade failure. I went Musc. Maybe I'll do both to see how differently it plays. At 50 and enjoyed leveling and end game. Advice still welcome.
