DreamingShad
I am running in to a couple problems trying to find this information: 1) No one is using the Flame Mastery in the builds that I find, they're all using Villain power pools, so I specified that I was looking for a blueside build. 2) What Incarnate abilities should I take? These seem to rarely be included in builds. Any help would be appreciated. My goal is ultimately to do #125 in AE on +4x8 difficulty. :)
Sapphire Lotus
Can I ask without risk nor intention of offending, are you strictly adhering to Blueside because of RP purposes? Or are you outright refusing to use Null the Gull to do a brief swap in order to unlock patron pools? If you are strictly adhering because "Villain = bad" for RP thats fine. I am wondering if your aware of who or what Null the Gull is?
Rockfall
With how fast pods of mobs go down, there's not much point to dropping a debuff on them, unless you can anchor the debuff on a mob like rad defenders do. I don't think that's an option in any of the brute patron pools.
HelenCarnate
The reason you don't see blue side is because the patron pools are better for farming. Blue side you get Ice with 1 AoE on a long timer, Earth with the same but shorter time but still too long, Energy with a cone and finally Fire. Fire is the only one with a half way decent AoE but all of these have the AoE locked behind needing 2 other powers, most of witch are low damage single target attacks. On the red side we have Leviathan which is meh. It has 2 AoEs but they are both cones and you have to take a single target attack first. Mace has 1 AoE attack and another imob. Soul is decent as you get Gloom which hits hard or you can pick an AoE cone instead followed up with Dark Obliteration. This is the set that many take when their main set has mostly single target damage. It gives a solid ranged attack and decent AoE. The best for farming however is Mu as you can get 2 15' radius AoE attacks without having to waste power slots to get them. This is why you see almost no builds with the normal Epic pools and almost all of them have Mu. If you are sticking with blue side for RP purposes then I would go with fire and would make this. For Incarnate I go with Agility for the Alpha slot. Higher recharge plus endurance and both are needed on this set up. Destiny I would go ageless because once you get the build to that point, the other powers are useless (at least inside the AE farm). You already have capped defense and resists and a heal on 11 second timer if you get unlucky and hit by several bosses at once. And even with Agility, you have haste crashes and are shooting off AoE after AoE after AoE and that can still put a hit on the endurance bar. Normally by the time it recharges my blue bar is starting to move and hitting it again fills it and keeps it full. I really only have consume as a mule for set bonuses. Of course this is based off of having 1 more AoE attack in my rotation so YMMV with Fire vs Mu. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1453;680;1360;HEX;| |78DA6594D94F135114C667DAA948E90A42CB2E208B05865678704B0C8A351030242| |4BE92AA5718AD85B4C5C8A3FF81E282BBE0F2EA936CEA3FA026BE1A8D7F801BEAB3| |89A9A7F7FB44934E3AFDCD7CF79C7BBF73EECC8C5D1CF23D3D76E99061561C49A77| |2B9C9C3D9B9BC2A3B9ECACF655369B72147999C955A9E1C5369A5EC895927A37251| |4843EA8CCAE4949D7454767E7250B2C2C39969955599BCFDF7C2373E3393B647554| |A12A7BCFA666256A9D37E7D9974A6A6F33210D677C3990B4ECE39E9A49DFC7CF8E8| |AC73CA1E9FCFCACAA95C5E16888A970E395F15FFF451F018972DC3485846DB1570D| |7027995BC06F65E07578A69A6CE751903A6D65C71B21F5C2D8620C6632EB9B556B9| |0CEE78483E026B1E83B127E09A64B9E9CDFD099AF599FC026EFB4A7EE3DC9BE01BA| |9CB835CC3D36D68ED7507F64034AB6CAF4B6BDBF791FB41EF013070105C97E872F8| |37CBF7606E6F448446F12B935560CCAAA846BDBE11C4F892606018ECFD6DE89C56C| |9F1733E3F7DB5911B8220FB19643F43EC6788FD7C2B3584D9CFF05DEC43CD3D70E7| |7DF201B904C696C1E79255A537ACE0A99A467D9DE7C13E873C4B9E031369D014DFD| |5EC6775410EC32D4A048A2B42B751BA8DD2AD2531B570EBAE6587EAD8A13A76A889| |1D7A2151F5DCED7A1F1C37F8C900D81424436067188CC83A8D74D7F8118EFDA2355| |36BE6DA2FE5AE159AD9CAAE27C87762A39D4F477B0FE6E8E8256DB28F5D8B83EF25| |A78B395D8B824ECBD87D93BC45DE066377C00F92D3CD3ABB9FC17FCF0AB94AAEF14| |D5B07131B60406AB25993CD9A82A2C5A9C5A935585B6FB5FC8ABB152B51E2254AA2| |44E92F51064A94645131078B4A61B46474DCE2274214532BE5A1ADB7BAB0E9DDFA3| |A70F4C73FC5659E40352D23A6EE5C5B0B9E94EF25593FFFCF5AC4DEB4DC2017C05F| |3502C414FE00B351EB9A| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|

If you want to hit 54's after you get the level shift from incarnates etc for your alpha you're probably going to be wanting more accuracy in your build from Nerve along with its defense buff Destiny's Barrier core epiphany for the extra protection Hybrids Melee Radial Emb Judgement's Pyroclastic Fireball If you want an untouchable pet with some... quirks... probably Banished Pantheon's Radial one etc etc As for patron/Epic pools it also depends. People talk more on the patron side but if you go epic fire mastery, you can take fire blast to hit mobs while you jump around to grab agro from a distance to gather groups to farm, melt armor to debuff significantly and fireball as an extra aoe too. Char usually gets taken too simply as a place holder but a hold at certain situations can be helpful too even if only single target.

Char usually gets taken too simply as a place holder but a hold at certain situations can be helpful too even if only single target. All solid advice while you are getting all your enhancements or for content outside of fire farms (not the OPs intent). After that, not so much. Barrier is handy until you get your defenses soft capped. After that the only other reason to take barrier would be to have your lore pets live a bit longer or if you farm with someone else and they need the help. Melee is also pointless in the same situation. On the build I posted (yay for test server) I only need to hit my heal when the boss mobs pile up and even then its not really needed, just a precaution after I get to 75% health or so. As a test I ran the mission like I normally without healing and did fine. My HP got to around 50% at one point but was never in any real danger (one click on the heal and I'm back to full) and for test purposes did not us any incarnate abilities outside of Alpha Agility and did not use any inspirations. Kismet and 2 purple sets gets you to 95% to hit for anything +3 levels so no need to waste your alpha slot on Nerve when you can get more recharge and end mod with Agility but the extra accuracy can be handy before you get those IOs. Personally I like the recharge more and just popped yellows to compensate until that point. This is also why I like Mu as you have room for those 2 purple sets but with fire I would have to drop the damage down on ring of fire and slot it with GA set for the purple bonuses or just take Char instead. Lanessar
So, I keep seeing "Agility" as the Alpha recommendation, but after testing it out extensively, Cardiac gives you nearly twice the bang for the buck. I even clarified this with M3z on one of his livestreams and he said "yeah, I was trolled when I made that video, you DEFINITELY take Cardiac in Alpha, no question."
jack_nomind
??? cardiac gives you nothing relevant to a farm build. agility and spiritual have recharge speed; musculature has +dmg (and end mod/run speed, if you want those). losing agility for cardiac in the build posted above drops you out of permahasten in exchange for about .27 end/s (equivalent to eating one small blue every minute and a half or so). No-Set Builds: Tanker Scrapper Brute Stalker
Sapphire Lotus
I'm getting conflicting statements here. IIRC, In Mezs video. He states Musculature for Alpha now it's supposed to be Cardiac?
HelenCarnate
Cardiac is the best for endurance. It not only reduces the amount your toggles use but all your attacks as well. By far this is the best one to pick for those with endurance issues. But what else does it have? Range and Damage resistance boosts. Nether of those really make a difference in fire farm builds. Musculature adds damage which is where you would go if you have no endurance issues and an uninterrupted attack chain. Neither of these is the case with spines/fire. Nerve boosts accuracy which is helpful on higher level mobs but not needed once your build is fleshed out. It also has defense boosts which can help on some builds and hold duration which is not that helpful for spine/fire. This would be a decent one to get until you have 2 purple sets that have accuracy bonuses and Kismet unique slotted. After that it becomes useless as Agility is better. Spiritual is the best for Recharge but its other bonuses for healing and stun duration are mostly unused. Vigor is similar to Nerve as it adds to accuracy but also adds helps with endurance use as well. Another one to look at before you are fully slotted. Resilient is useless to spine/fire. You will already be at the resist cap, there is no need to increase your immobilization duration and it helps To Hit, not accuracy. So when you hit Build Up, you go from hitting 95% of the time to hitting 95% of the time. Skip this one like it was Hand Clap. Skip Intuition as well as that is mainly for support types with holds and defense debuffs. Last we have Agility. Not as much of a boost to your endurance as Cardiac as it boosts end modification instead of endurance use. For those that are new to the game, this means you will recover faster instead of use less endurance. It also adds recharge and in many cases just enough to get hasten permanent. It also adds to Defense and can be just enough to bump over that magical 45% mark as well. The short version is , while you are still fleshing out your IO sets you may want to consider Vigor or Nerve. After you have 95% to hit on +3 mobs then if you will likely have endurance issues still. At that point, if you have perm hasten and are past 45% defense then go Cardiac. If not Agility will help in all 3 of those categories instead of just 1. At 12 your focus is more to level and have just enough money to get your basic IO's so you can then continue leveling and perhaps as you close in on 50, do some "light" farming. The builds listed(and not necessarily the ones all farmer use) are more for what you want at 50(ie leveling then respecting into 1 build and then perhaps another once better fleshed out). You can of course follow the builds mentioned and then go from there but its your choice.

HelenCarnate
Once you get burn slotted you will see a huge improvement and should be able to clear out +3 with ease.
SchnauzerXL
While I would just use Null to get the patron powers, this is what I am using with 2 wasted powers from fire instead of 1 from Mu. Also loose a bit of recharge since I use Stealth for Def+LotG as well as Grant Invis for LotG+PL Utility Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! Papaschtroumpf
Cost effective. No Alpha. That is very good build for the money. I'm not sure why you would go "no alpha" though/ It's easy enough to get to Agility T3 and you get extra defense so you don't have to quite make it to 45% without it. Also extra end reduction. But mostly once you have a level shift, you're only fighting +3 foes, so killing faster and getting less damage, and getting the same rewards as +4 For comparison here is my build. I don't know how to calculate the effect of the Panacea proc (expensive) but you can replace it with a Regenerative Tissue +regen and it gets you to 216% regen, but I believe Panacea is better? Papaschtroumpf
I changed the build again. I don't like being partially invisible and End cost of Stealth is uncessarily high. Also 1/2 of stealth is suppressed when attacked/attacking and I want doing the math wrong in Pine's. SoI went back to Combat jump. That means I need to use Vengeance for my extrq LoTG slot. I experimented eot Tactics, and once Level Shifted I didn't see any significant misses, the bonus + kismet seem to be sufficient. So I'm trying assault instead. Looks like 10% damage buff I now have all my incarnates at T3. Really easy to get there, I had more than enough threads so build common and uncommon components and I used empyrean merits to build the rare. I don't know if I could get to T4 with what I have now, I want to play with the T3s for a while first. Incarnates make a HUGE difference, I could do without Consume although it's a nice safety blanket. I use Healing Flames a lot less than I used to, so I'm ready to start looking into macros that will convert all insps to Damage (this is where assault might be redundant, may be useful on a team when you get less drops) I took the Seers Lore pets with the invulnerable one that grants Fortitude but the recharge time is so long I don't think they are that useful on a farmer. I'll play with it some more before I post anything and may eventually try a purples/WIO'd build for fun, but this is definitely not necessary. I have 3 alts in line for purples first. As an aside I ran the Market Crash TF to get my free purple and Notice of the Well for when I decide to go T4 Alpha. While my build is not optimized for anything but Fire, I did quite well, although I think I would slot a KB resistance somewhere (I think prestige runs will take it) or just get the relevant shield. It was a lot less painful that soloing the Black Scorpion arc (those damn sappers)
HelenCarnate
You take 3 stealth powers and use them as mules for LotG recharge and don't actually fight with stealth on. Getting enough fire defense is quite easy albeit expensive without needing to use anything other than Combat Jumping, Weave and IO sets. That also gets you 5 slots for LotG. Papaschtroumpf
Agreed, if you use Purples/ATOs/WIOs it's super easy to cap res, resist, get tons of rchg and some other goodies. No "expensive" IOs was a constraint I put on the build and was reacting to a prior "cheap" posted in this thread. I think you can make a build that is safe and quite fast at 8x+4 without those expensive sets. Of course the line of what is expensive can get fuzzy. Is the Panacea Proc inexpensive? I can check with Incarnates but I think I couldn't get top 45% without Purples/ATO/WIO if I didn't take either combat jump or stealth or maneuvers and actually turn them on (stealth/cj add 1.88% base and 3.34% slotted). You can't take Concealment if you already take fighting, jumping, leadership and speed. I will look at whether I can get to 45% with the help of incarnates.
