I've always liked Sentinels. Now liking them even more with the changes.

Ive done Elec/Elec, Fire/Rad, Dark/Bio, and DP/Sr.

Im thinking about Fire/Stone, Ice/Stone ( making the stone look like crystal ), Ice/Ice or Water/Ice.  Ive read some kinda bad things about Ice Armor. Is it that bad?

Ive also never tried Beam Rifle dont know much about it..

I'd love some opinions and suggestions..

Did that with my Ice/Stone brute, works very well visually.  And Ice Blast is pretty damn nice.

Get busy living... or get busy dying.  That's goddamn right.

I used this combo fairly extensively to test the Sent changes on Beta (I was comparing it to my Ice/ Blaster).  Highly recommended!  Stone is super sturdy and Ice Blast is just good all around.

I'm a big fan of regeneration on sentinels, it's the best version of it in the game. As for the primaries, I'd say I favor ice and electric. I'm still a bit miffed that people howled about the sonic updates that were on beta a while back since they would have been great for sonic's damage potential.

I did try a seismic/stone when they became available, but I didn't really much like either. Some of this is aesthetics because seismic is very showy, and can obscure the battlefield at times. This may not bother you as much as me of course. I didn't much care for stone since almost every power is necessary (one can be skipped with minimal loss), and needs to be slotted up to get all your protection. I find that constraining. It also leans heavily on the tier 9 oh crap button (which is quite good, but necessary).

I've made comments about how little I like ice because it's got a couple of issues. First off it has a power which gives an absorb shield, but so tiny as to be meaningless (which I guess means skippable power). Then it relies on your using your endurance recovery power at the start of combat to get your defense up, which kind of defeats the endurance recovery angle. I found the set rather lacking. The tier 9 is a good oh crap button, but I prefer sets which are durable without leaning on such.

This is her build. S/L resist 75% and most of the rest are in the low 60s. energy/neg. energy, tox, psi is in the mid 40s. Didn't check to see what her Def was.

I have a few *\stone sentinels now and I will say \stone is thirsty.  If you go the stone route, be prepared to slot in some IO's that give +END and a lot of end reducers.  That said my fire\stone, psi\stone, and beam\stone are monsters.  Beam can be a monster for single target damage no matter what you pair it with.

For the pure fun factor I like sets where you can run in and nuke things that have a useful secondary effect and this often means pairing a melee nuke with a defense set.  Super Reflexes is really nice if you like to live a little on the wild side (dp\sr is a classic now and for good reason), but energy aura and ninjitsu are nice compromises that provide heals and end recovery (at the expense of DDR).  Maybe consider rad\(energy aura | ninjitsu) or sonic\(energy aura | ninjitsu).  I have a sonic\energy aura and she tears into things and is pretty darn tanky.  Set energize on auto and just run into spawns and nuke them and then stand back and take off what is left with the cones and stuff (if you can get past the sounds).  Dark blast is nice since it has so many proccable attacks if that's you bag and the T9 -tohit can be really useful (I like to feel like I'm helping the team in some way at higher levels).

Electric\Regen is easy street and I'd highly recommend it if you haven't given it a shot if you're looking for a version of electric blast that is a smooth ride from start to finish that hover blasts.

I have given ice armor a solid try (dp\ice) and it's ok, but not where near as survivable as other defense based secondaries.

Water/Fire is one that feels fun, but I haven't gotten a good build together for Mister Sauna.

Fire/Bio is crazy solid. Doesn't go down easy and really contributes to a team's damage.

Archery/ninja/ninja is a Swiss Army knife of a build. Can play any role on a team. Seriously.

Do you have a build for that last one you can share? I've been leveling one, but working out a 50 build is tough because I want to take too much stuff.

YMMV, but the criteria I stuck to when building this was first off, he's a Natural so no Super Speed here, and I felt Hasten unneccesary. The breakfree power also adds a temporary run speed boost. The 20% damage while stealthed means your first shot gets an extra boost. It's a really tight build trying to fit in some of everything. I found the Epic sword attacks I took to be worth it. Positional defenses are overcapped, and Kujin-Retsu = invincibility.

I would not change a thing in this build, myself obviously. But if you're going to go mucking with attack slotting leave stunning shot alone, it's the best single target in the set, and occasionally stuns. Also, in-game, I've literally +5 boosted anything that doesn't have recharge that will screw up proc chances. You'd be surprised how much you can squeeze out with end savings and defense numbers that way.

What you can't see here is all the temp powers I piled on. Basically anything that makes sense for a ninja to have... stun grenades, grenades, golden wrench (what?)...I try to be the most useful team player possible. This is also my badger.

If you want to team and check it out I'm on Excelsior as Iron Bow (@Bad Radish)

Here is a DP/Ninja/Electric I pulled together. Seems like it will have a stronger hold in the epic, and higher def caps even still. I left infiltration because you'd lose the LotG if you took Super Speed. This is a leveling build as far as power picks and when you take them. I may give it a whirl myself.
