Personally I usually keep my characters Vigilante due to team breaking bugs I've experienced while Rogue. I do use Null the Gull quite a bit though especially on some characters as I do like some villain story arcs as the writing is superior to blue side. I do the occasional tip/morality missions but honestly the last few months I'm lucky to get in the game for more than an hour at a time.

Any suggestions for tomorrow's thread? Otherwise I'll just pull a topic out of the ether.

I pretty much always start as a hero, so I can quickly get the Atlas Park Beacon Badge, and unlock the zone teleporter thing. I stay heroic until lvl 20, then decide whether to go vig or or stay blue. After 50 I might switch to Rogue to do some red side stuff. Villain alignment, almost never stays villain, because I hate the ambushes, and cheap deaths your character has to soldier through to pay his dues. I know the original devs wanted to make it harder to be a villain than a hero. And that CoV content is still there to endure, but I have no desire to do that.

I feel like I would like the Alignment system a lot more if morality were more integrated into gameplay. If your morality affected the way story arcs played out, I think we'd see a lot more variety in alignment choices. Also, as it stands now, being pure Hero or Vill forces you to miss out on the other 50% of the game without many (or any) benefits for staying true blue or red. Vigs and Rogues even get exclusive contacts.

It's probably too late now, but a huge expansion is needed to make Alignment truly worthwhile.

Null exists and 10 alignment missions before a morality mission was a time sink.  I tried to only play alignment missions and ran out of tips 3 times in 10 missions and to street sweep for more.  Changing alignment cleared out the tips i had too.

Change it from 10 down to 5 alignment missions before a morality mission and cut morality mission merits in half.  Make tips drop more often when you have none and get 1 free tip when changing alignment.

I wanted to play alignment/morality missions from hero to villain and back but it was frustrating to have the tips i needed for missions so i said screw it and used null.

Vigilante mostly. That way when a call for something redside goes out, I can respond. I don't play straight villain much at all, and had only a couple of rogues.

I have done a TON of AE work, both long form and single arc. Just search the AE mish list for my sig @cranebump. For more information on my stories, head to the AE forum sub-heading and look for “Crane’s World.” Support your AE authors! We ARE the new content.

The idea of 'purchasing' a tip for an entire Merit is just highway robbery.  If they're being offered by a mission computer or an oracle cauldron, they should be considered 'found information' that just had to be correlated.  (You never saw Batman shoveling money into the Bat-Computer to power the damned thing.)

Honestly,  i forgot about the mission computer.  But it wouldnt have mattered since most of my characters arent in a SG,  including the one i had those problems with.
