BazookaTwo Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 So I've got this guy to level 50. I took whirling hands and skipped the other aoe/cone, I took Elude, and I took Char and Melt Armor. I have 48% positional to melee/ranged/aoe. I have like a 30% damage bonus, as well as musculature alpha I'm working up. Of course I took BS,TF, and ET. Clearly it's a good character. It hits fairly hard, and the defenses are pretty good. But I'm wondering are there any further tweaks or tricks people could recommend? I do no have mids, as I'm on a Mac. Thanks in advance! 1
BrandX Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I run a EM/Regen, but I use Moonbeam for ET > TF > ET > BS > Moonbeam > Repeat (posted in pylon thread rather recently). So, you're SR, so you may or may not have more +RCH than me (not sure if you have Hasten, but Quick Reflexes is going to give you 20% more +RCH than I can get). Assuming you have 5 7.5% Recharge bonuses from LotG and maybe more in Char? I believe I heard the Immobilize with Procs is an awesome ST attack. Never took Elude myself on SR. 1
Uun Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Definitely no need for Elude. You could drop that and Melt Armor and take Weaken Resolve/Mighty Leap/Unleash Potential, or you could take Moonbeam and Shadow Meld. 1 Uuniverse

If going with Unleash Potential, I'd jam it as full of Heal/Recharge and End Mod/Recharge as you can. I'm not sure I'd add Shadow Meld to an SR build. 1 Who run Bartertown?
Blackjoy Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 Elude is actually helpful fighting Incarnates and TFs on 4*. It's really good leveling up. 1 1
StrikerFox Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 (edited) +Damage bonuses can be built higher. I had +60% at one point on my SR Stalker but settled on +52% in favor of more survival. That includes +10% from Hybrid Assault and +10.5% from Leadership Assault. Sets to look for: +2% - Red Fortune, Adjusted Targeting +2.5% - Performance Shifter, Gaussian's, Touch of Death, PVP IOs +3% - Mako's, Obliteration, Overwhelming Force +4% - ATO 1+2, Apocalypse, Soulbound Allegiance Still has a lot of damage procs, unique IOs, softcap def, perma Hasten and enough recharge to run a top attack chain. If you're taking Elude as a panic button, Shadow Meld has no crash and can easily be up every 40 seconds. If you're already taking Moonbeam, there are no additional picks required. Uuniverse

That said, sometimes I take a T9 just for the endurance kick! (I’m looking at you Unstoppable) Who run Bartertown?

However I 'feel' like Melt Armor is very good to soften up stuff several levels higher than me. Maybe it's my imagination?

I guess I should look at swapping Mako's for Apocalypse, maybe. depends on how much it knocks off my Def numbers to do so.

Melt Armor is very good, although it's tough to get the recharge much below 90 seconds (vs. 40 second duration). I would keep it if you're also taking Fire Ball, but not sure it's worth 2 power picks on its own. The question is, are you using Melt Armor to soften up an entire spawn, or are you using it primarily on tough bosses. If the latter, see above about Weaken Resolve. It's a ST -def/-res that can be used every 15 seconds (vs. 15 second duration). Uuniverse

I tend to use it whenever it's up, more than I use it situationally. and yeah I think it's best on a whole spawn.
BazookaTwo Posted July 25, 2023 Author Posted July 25, 2023 Before I let this thread rest in piece, has anyone built a purpled out EM/SR? Not having access to mids prevents me from experimenting there. I could hit brainstorm and try some different things though.
