Coin Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Rooster Teeth to close down after 21 years. Remember when they did videos for COH Architect? 2
biostem Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I liked (most of) RWBY. I kind of think the RWBY x Justice League 2-parter didn't quite hit the mark, though. 1
ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted March 7 Posted March 7 (edited) Kinda sad. They made good podcasts - worked with them a tiny bit, and Ship-It Show! deserves a future for definite. The Roost unit by itself is also profitable and should find a good home. As for the TV shows: well, they're vastly more expensive to make, but don't earn nearly as much per user, largely because they don't fit "live read" ads as well, and were therefore very dependent on subscriber and YouTube monetisation. I'm not sure AT&T or Time-Warner ever really had an idea how to make them profitable after they took over Fullscreen, and once WB/D got hold of 'em... well, just another costline. ...also, big fan of Bauza. ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted March 8 Posted March 8 BTW: I'm not sure this is the right venue for this, but a message from one of their staffers: Quote Hi folks, the news is out that Warner Bros Discovery is shutting down Rooster Teeth and has put The Roost Podcast Network on the market. If you're in need of first-class video+audio producers, audio engineers, talent, etc. Please reach out to me. We've got star talent in Austin, Los Angeles, and working remotely in different parts of the country. It's not a great time to be on the market in audio right now - especially after Ek redlined a whole swathe of people at Spotify late last year. But if you happen to need some talent, drop me a DM and I'll pass along the message. x WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE. WanderingAries Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I knew them mostly for the RvB stuff as well. For that alone, I kinda wish that MSFT would just buy them up or at least host the content. I still need to buy the DVD set.
