Mapserver event

Really enjoying this, but I only learned about it yesterday and hear it's going to end Tuesday.

 

You know what would be a great April Fools prank?  To extend it for another week.

I believe when the weekly shard restart happens, that will end the event.  Normally that would have been this morning, but delayed until tomorrow.

The maintenance has occurred.  The event should be ended.

 

I am sad to see it go.  I got to make new friends and socialize with people that I probably won't see or talk with again until Halloween.

So, we're back to not having to fill out a power execution request form, mail it in, then have the power execute in 24-48 hours?

The Mapserver event was too long. It was great. I am sure others, like me, leveled up some ATs, gained a fortune (and spent a lot of it slotting IO sets)...but the length was too long. Not speaking for anyone else. Just my two cents. I did it. Enjoyed it. Then felt really burned out by the end of it. I hope we get more events but they do not last as long as that did. Above all else though, THANK YOU DEVS. Also, thank you to the folks who took lead on many of the leagues I joined. 🙂

FWIW, you don't have to take part in it.  I didn't.  If the Mapserver event hit whatever zone I was in, I just left the zone and did other things.

Even if you didn't, it meant that everyone else that would have filled or created teams for task forces and trials were doing mapserver instead. Not a big deal if you play solo, but if you wanted those task forces, you had some rather slim pickings.

That's true of every event. Even more so for the halloween one.

 

With that said I mostly avoided Mapserver as every one I was on seemed to lag even more than rikti and zombie invasions. The frist time I experienced the slide show I just wrote them off completely.

 

Glad others enjoyed it though.

Certainly. No one has to participate in anything. I was just offering my thoughts on it. I joined and did it constantly because the xp and influence was too good to miss and finally get to outfit my ATs w/ the very rare IO sets. But I was chatting with some SG mates and we all pretty much agreed we got burned out. We did it. Not blaming or pointing the finger at anyone. If they did it again, I'd probably play until I got burned out again. I just thought the length of the event was a bit much, that's all. 🙂
