trying to choose ultimate, bestest /kin on controller...

 

Arsenal Control - dunno. never tried it. hardy af pet.

Darkness Control - minus tohit, a fear cone, aoe hold isnt a 1 shot but groups travel too fast to make it v useful. aoe stun.

Earth Control - minus def on lots of things. earthquake. ok'ish pet

Electric Control - best sleep patch (on a low recharge), slow chaining on synaptic overload + miss break chain, ok/decent pets

Fire Control - bonfire. imps.

Gravity Control - wormhole, phase patch that people can go in and out of. propel. good pet.

Ice Control - super-wide fear cone, ice slick, ok pet

Illusion Control - phantom army, self-aiming  invulnetable fear turret, superior invis, group invis lotg mules

Mind Control - new tk, fear cone, mass confuse

Plant Control - seeds, creepers, ok pet. (dont skip your aoe immob on a controller ever imo - to note, another thread)

Symphony Control - lots of cones. echo pet. i liked it better on dominator?

 

/kin is very busy cycling kin stuff.  so higher impact, aoe heavy, quick activation is desirous for group play.

 

you might think - 'just make a mastermind', versus illusion at least.

 

I've found dark/dark to be very effective, like 'group cannot be harmed' effective, but with /kin I'd not have the layering minus tohit.

 

probably 'viewed' as most valuable - illusion. but damn if its not boring aside from maintaining perma-pa casts and resummoning phantasm because it dies a lot.

 

I hear even with accuracy bonuses (global) that wormhole can fail a lot on high level mobsters.

 

so what you think bestest primary for a /kin?

Gravity Control, imagine delivering enemies in yiffpile by Wormhole/Singularity, and then Fulcrum Shiftin them. Additionally u can make ur blackhole even more dense (can that even be?)!

Fire/kin. 'Nuff Said. I had one in the 20s on Live. I thought about doing one here and ended up with a Fire/time instead.

Dark/kin. Sneaky good in the fact that Kin wants mitigation and Dark offers it. Kin's recharge helps get the one pets get back faster. More pets, more stuff to FS. Some powers are PBAoE. One cone though. I think the only real reason I got rid of mine is I already have a Dark/dark.

Elec/kin. The Sleep pairs so well with Kin. Elec wants to be in melee. The single biggest issue for me is I don't know what to make of Elec. It feels like a bunch of different status effects tossed together versus something coherent. Lower on damage. I've made two Elec Controllers only to delete both. One being an Elec/kin in their 40s.

Earth/kin. -Def helps Kin hit. Pet is a mini tank. You are FSing what for damage?

Ice/kin. Plays in melee. Kin helps with Ice's end issues. Again, you are using FS to cap what damage? We joked with an SG mate about this. Note, we played before IOs. He was so glad to finally get Epic powers.

 

I don't know enough about Arsenal to make a comment about it, but those are the ones I would look at.

Tried everything except dark, mind, symphony on kin. They are all fun. There's only 1 winner. Fire. Plant as runner up. Ice and Illusion for the most fun. Arsenal if your incredibly lazy. Which i am.

rly like symphony (tho on dominator more, with the echo pet there's a lot of control floating about).

 

arsenal is super strong, but its all location aoes so it gets a bit boring (to me, and thats not because it isn't effective, or cant /bind alt+2 powexec_location target skill name to make use less clicky)

The issue with Illu/Kin is that Phantom Army doesn't benefit from Siphon Power/Fulcrum Shift, and can't be Speed Boosted. So it's not AS powerful as one would think it would be. Though Siphon Speed takes the edge off having to dedicate your entire build to +Recharge for Perma Hasten/Perma PA, so it's still a solid combo.

 

The only other combo I can speak to with any confidence is Mind/Kin. The AoE sleep lets you safely wander into a mob to get your FS off, back up, then hit them all with Terrify. It's better to use the AoE hold, which all Controller Primaries have, but you can't count on that being up every fight. TK is a good substitute, but you'll take a lot of return fire. Maybe pair that up with Mass Comedy for the most safety, though again, not every fight.

 

It's not great, but fairly solid, especially of you're willing to strategize and take things a bit slower.

don't think / remember doing elec control / kin, did a elec/elec affinity - and that was super busy on its own.  with siphon speed and good recharge, I imagine you can do the chain lightning confuse about every 20-25s or so... and jolting chain (base recharge 8s) would be up all the time.

 

ya, bet its really good, but actually physically tiring to play for extended periods 🙂

IMO - Repel, yes, it's underappreciated. whirlwind maybe - but it's deep in the power pool.

 

Increased density is decent, if you've powers to spare.
