Xandyr Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Hey all I admit, I don't play scrappers much, but I have a hankering. Pretty sure I want to go with Claws or Martial Arts. As far secondary, I'm thinking Stone (for the regen, defense, damage toggle, and the chance for fire damage on attacks). Or possibly Energy or Ninjitsu. What's the general consensus? Which combo would provide the most fun with survivability and damage? Thanks X What you wanted to know about Bio, but never asked - Tanker - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com)
Octogoat Posted October 9 Posted October 9 (edited) I'm partial to stone or ninjitsu myself. Ymmv. Edited October 9 by Octogoat
Without_Pause Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Of the ones mentioned, /stone will add the most damage. /stone is a solid pick for any AT which has it. It does lack a taunt aura on Scrappers, but I tend to find it less of an issue with Claws having ranged attacks as I have a Claws/sr which also doesn't a taunt aura. I never got /nin far. It feels a bit too clicky for my taste. Sig confirms I enjoyed my play of my Claws/ea. I'm currently tweaking my various Claws builds even if currently I like them a lot. I'm most looking to get rid of Hasten from the builds I can. Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Hesitation: Claws/sr Scrapper. 8. Within Reach: Axe/stone Brute. 9. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute. 10. Chasing Fireworks: Fire/time Controller. "Downtime is for mortals. Debt is temporary. Fame is forever."
kelika2 Posted October 10 Posted October 10 i have lots of claws brutes and tanks with no taunt aura fire might not be a good idea as a scrapper maybe bio and you can min fx most of the armor and pair up claws with the Adaptation glows and go for a poison claws type of deal

I personally dislike builds that require a lot of “maintenance” and clicking every 30-90 seconds to keep it running. I’ve been main-ing a claws/WP. The only maintenance click is hasten on Auto. But, incarnate has added a damage boost click. And Barrier adds a defence one… Still not bad Edited October 10 by Flat Line

The simplest update would be putting the Gladiator's Javelin Damage proc into Focus. The build doesn't use purples. I can see adding in Hecatomb for Slash and Apocalypse for Focus. Skip the Damage IO for both. Is that enough to remove Hasten? I don't know. From a Claws standpoint it is really close now. Using Hasten plus purples does allow you to perma Energize. I might auto Energize in that case. Energy Drain is up well enough for the End aspect you are really just using it for any needed +Def. In short, using Hasten will likely depend on what you want from the build. My biggest complaint about WP is its lack of ability to deal with debuffs. I have a Claws/wp Brute and I'm trying to see if I can get the recharge down enough to where some attacks are mules, or see how slotting goes with skipping needing those attacks at all. I know SR and Shield have click mezz protection, but I've gotten used to having them on auto and rarely need to force click on them. My ideal MA pairing might be Shield. 1 Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Thanks X Of the ones you listed, Claws/Bio and Claws/Ninjitsu are both very survivable; I'm partial to Claws/Bio but I think more people should give Ninjitsu a try, it's really nice on a scrapper. All that said, my favorite Claws character is Claws/Willpower, which is basically just three buttons and is great if you often find yourself at diminished capacity. SomeGuy Posted October 12 Posted October 12 (edited) I'm partial to Claws/Bio. The soft CC combo of Focus and Shockwave really take the survivability of the combo really high. And it does REALLY good ST DPS and AOE.
