Display Name Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Well! I've finished badging all of the toons I sought to badge with the Winter Event! And I just thought I'd share some insights that I've learned. 1) Do the Toy Collector badge first. Ok, let's pause for a minute to discuss this. First, download and install the City Mod app for your game. After you've installed this, install the "Winter Event Gift Maps." This is like Vidiot Maps for the gift locations. If you have Vidiot Maps already installed, you'll get a conflict error when attempting to install it. Just uninstall Vidiot Maps and then install this mod. After the event is over, you can resume normal gameplay and uninstall the Winter map and reinstall the Vidiot Maps. Now that you've heard about the City Mod, we can continue. Why do I say do the Toy Collector badge first? Because you get Candy Canes. You can also pick up the Duplicating Gift which will allow you to get the Gift Getter and Gift Which Keeps Giving badges (assuming you can get another player to cooperate.) See below for my comments about opening Gifts and not defeating the spawned enemies. 2) Sponsor your own Lord Winter Trial. Ok, maybe you're not lvl 50. But that doesn't mean you can't pull a league together. You just have to be lvl 10+. Create a league in Pocket D of three teams. More than that takes too long and will likely cause players to quit out of impatience. You're going to lose the star once the trial starts, anyway. This trial is good for 20 Candy Canes and some merits per run. It takes approximately 225 Candy Canes to max out your toon on the Candy Keeper's badges. This is why you want to get the Toy Collector badge first. 3) Run the Baby New Year mish five times and *then* run the Lady Winter mish. Oof! I really screwed this up my first time around! I ran the Lady Winter four times to get the four badges and then ran the Baby New Year mish five times to get the Snaptooth badge! NONONONONONONONO!!!! Run the Baby New Year mish five times, FIRST to get the appropriate badges. And *then* run the Lady Winter mish ONCE to get her badge, too! And don't waste time with "defeat all" during the Baby New Year mish! Get in, get the baby and GET OUT! 4) Create a team in Atlas Park for the Frozen Fury badge. This badge is awarded if you do 10% damage to the Winter Lord (GM) when he appears because pesky players are opening packages too often. If you pre-emptively create a team and everyone starts opening packages, this will cause the Winter Lord (GM) to appear faster than if you were by yourself. No, I'm not joking. This is for real. Also, see below about packages. Other players will post the Winter Lord's position on the Broadcast channel. And now, you don't have to approach the Winter Lord begging for someone to invite you and then not getting the badge because you were so busy begging for an invite instead of doing damage. About opening Gifts and not defeating the enemies. Sigh! So many people complain about players opening packages and not defeating the enemies that spawn. This is *so* unecessary! If you open a package and LEAVE THE AREA, the package will respawn. It doesn't matter if the enemies remain, the package WILL respawn if you LEAVE THE AREA after opening it. I've had this confirmed by players and GMs. One player told me that they were navigating a short area on the map and encountered previously spawned enemies AND the package! 1 @Super Whatsit Superbase passcode (Excelsior) is "passcode-6475" It's all a Nemesis plot. But not everything is a Nemesis plot!

Though it's defeating the spawns that generate the Winter Lord. Number being between 400 & 500, which is why it spawns quicker if a team is opening presents since you get larger spawns. 1

I've spawned the Winter Lord after server reset on Indomitable at 88 Snowbeasts defeated and 47 presents opened. I've done it other times at over 200 Snowbeasts defeated and hundreds of presents opened (multiple full loops around all present spawn locations). I've also seen it where it never occurs after an entire day and multiple badge toons collecting Toy Collector, only to realize it spawned in an area (like inside a aircraft hanger in Cap au Diable) and all my effort was wasted. Of all the Giant Monsters to spawn, this one is just a head scratcher. I lead weekly Indom Badge Runs / A newer giant monster guide by Glacier Peak / A tour of Pocket D easter eggs! / Arena All-Star Accolade Guide! Best Post Ever....

I should have done the disclaimer that I was looking at the code from SCORE, so there are decent chances adjustments have happened. (And of course, I could have misread part of the code) WL does spawn where a present is (or was) there's a spot that checks on the counter in the code I looked at. 1 1
Voltor Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Before doing the event, check for any candy canes you may have retained from previous winter events. Use them at the vendor and you can purchase all but 3 of the mission reward badges. Then you just need to get those 3 plus Lady Winter, Lord Winter, Winter Lord, Toy Collector and 100 Winter Horde defeats 1. Run Lady Winter mission, if you can solo her (and yes you can), then defeat her for her badge and claim one of the 3reward badges. Then run it 2 more times for the other 2 reward badges. 2. Host or join a Lord Winter event. 3. Go to Atlas Park and form or join a team to spawn and destroy Winter Lord, he is farmed a lot in Atlas 4. The Baby New Year mission: go into it and defeat Snaptooth, then logout to reset the mission and repeat this 4 times for Toothbreaker badge. If you have Mark and Recall you can easily get BNY to the exit. 5. Set the BNY mission to max spawn and farm it for Winter Horde defeat badge, farm the Tuatha badge and red cap defeat badge 6. Pick a nice quiet zone to collect Presents for Toy Collector. There is a total of 21 winter badges, not counting Toothbreaker as that is listed among the Spring badges on the Events tab so it is mainly a spring badge that you can also get in the Winter Event. 1 25 alts with all the badges!
