Marine X Posted February 1 Posted February 1 (edited) Needed to hunt 30 Crey for a Costume Slot Mission and found that they are spawning Regularly above what they should in the 31 to 33 section of Map. If it says 31 to 33, it should probably actually be 31 to 33, otherwise it should be corrected on the Map Labeling to reflect the higher levels. Marine X Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 (edited) I understand that the map labels are from Vidiots Maps, however the Wiki shows the same levels, is there an Official Listing of the Neighborhood Spawn Levels that could be referenced? If Vidiots needs updated, that can be done, but a solid source for the level ranges would be extremely helpful. @AboveTheChemist would need that to proceed with any updates or changes. Did also find a Crey Juggernaut at 35 ( first screenshot in OP ). Someone must have updated something. Looks like this is happening all across those zone sections as your screenshot is in a different area than mine, but showing the same thing. It is not a big deal unless you are a squishy trying to do a hunt at 31 and encounter a 35 every time you turn around. I play mostly Tanks so it wasn't a big deal, just thought I should document it. 1 " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." When I update a map for a given zone, I also do thorough mob surveys as part of that update to make sure the level ranges are reflected correctly. This generally means a line search pattern about 400 feet apart while recording a demo file. I generate 5 such files for that zone over the course of a week or two, then process the data with some Python scripts so that I can plot spawn points by critter and level for that zone in GIS software, as well as outputting the data in tabular format. I use that info to update vidiotmaps, but there are lots of maps and only one of me so it takes time. I haven't done any work in Crey's Folly to date, but it is on the list for an eventual update, and I'll update the spawn info then. 1 1 Popmenus > Badge List | Optimal Paths | Conversion Possibilities | Emotes Wiki Pages > Costume Color Schemes | Set Bonus Comparison Tables Maps > Vidiotmaps | Optimal Paths | Halloween GM Maps | Winter Gift Maps | Offline Map Viewer Sounds > Banshee Sonic Attack Datasets > Recipe Salvage Components | Badge Name & Settitle ID | Exploration Badge & History Plaque Coordinates
Marine X Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 (edited) @AboveTheChemist, if you need someone to collect data as you describe, give me a run down on the methodology and details on the process/files and I would be more than happy to lend a hand. Processing it however, is all you. Edited February 3 by Marine X 1 " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." Marine X Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Just found an even higher level Crey in same area. " When it's too tough for everyone else, it's just right for me..." ( Unless it's Raining, or Cold, or Really Dirty or there are Sappers, Man I hate those Guys...) Marine X

I don't know the methodology used by the original vidiotmap creators when generating the level annotation, but for the maps I have updated, I have to make some judgement calls if critters of a certain level are outliers compared to the level of critters generally found in an area. Using your example image above, if 90% of the Crey seen in that neighborhood are 31-33, then that is what I am likely to note on the map. That is why I conduct such thorough surveys, and why I conduct a minimum of five surveys, so that I can have a reasonable statistical sample to know which are outliers. As noted above, I have done no work to date on Crey's Folly and I don't know what the actual data reflects, so the notation in your example image above may indeed be wrong and need updating to reflect current data. In short and in general, I wouldn't treat the critter annotation as all-encompassing, but rather as a guide to what you will typically see in a neighborhood, knowing that you may occasionally encounter critters just outside that level range. Understood, it seems, from my observations almost every other spawn in that area contained a level 35 Crey Crisis Unit or Juggernaut. Those could each be quite a challenge to some level 31 players depending on Archetype, for me it was just extra XP on my Tank, it just surprised me to see how many of them there were.
