Fine, I get it. I'm in the minority crowd or the only one that thinks villains shouldn't be a fucking joke to the NPCs.

The PC "villains" are a joke to Arachnos.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

Looking for praise as a villain shows that you don't have a villain mindset.

um.. even redsiders do missions to further the cause.

it is always excellent to see a passing "whoa that's Troo, they wrecked Black Scorpion big time"

Would it help to remove NPC Chat from your main Chat Tab, then you would have to be looking at them or they would need to be in your view to even be aware they said anything.

Everyone is a joke to someone. The problem is that you don't want to hear it about you. Actually, the real problem is that we can't murder the civilians on the spot when they do mouth off like that. I think on red side, the civilians should drop like flies like they do in the mayhem missions.

This is the only thing we have agreed on this entire thread.

I would just use /follow.

Sure, you can't k... knock them unconscious, but you can follow them around in a threatening manner.

Do I think that they should run away screaming like in DCUO? Sure.

But I guess the NPCs are so confident that Lord Recluse is in control that they aren't scared of any violence on the streets.

It would be nice if the did have more situational emotes, say when a villain/rogue stops near them they use the cower emote like they do sometimes in missions and an "I'm sorry! I actually meant <villain name>!"

Not sure if the NPC programming can handle or tackle that much NPC awareness though, first that they smack-talked said villain and then recognize the same villain stopped and is seriously wanting to pummel the NPC for their disrespect.

Dislike certain sounds? Silence/Modify specific sounds. Looking for modified whole powerset sfx?

Check out Michiyo's modder or Solerverse's thread.  Got a punny character? You should share it.

I'd like to see badges play more of a role in what random civilians might overhear. Maybe not all of them, because some wouldn't be stuff that the people on the street would know about. But if you stopped Recluse and helped save the world, then having that TF badge should mean that people occasionally mention it... not just once maybe after you've done that task force, or any other recently done mission. And it could extend to other things, too. Exploration badges? Sure, some guy says "There goes [hero]. My sister saw him at [location] in [zone] once." Defeats badges should carry a reputation... you've helped take down giant monsters? People will remember that. "There goes [villain]....I think that guy took down an Arachnos Flyer once. Crazy!"

In a world of villainy ruled by villains and filled with other villains that do their own thing, some people might play favorites... or at least favor the lesser of two evils (as they see it).

Well, I'm not the one complaining about the NPC chat, but I already do remove NPC chat  from the cat tab chat that I mainly use - which is the help chat tab.

it is good to be able to flip over to the Main chat tab to see what they are saying, but I'm more interested in monitoring the /help, /team, /local, /lfg, and the event channel(s) than keeping up with all the NPC chatter.

But you don't seem to understand where I'm coming from in regard to the Arachnos, mission contacts, and other in mission chatter on the villain side versus the street NPC chatter that Rudra was complaining about. Arachnos, mission contacts, and other in mission chatter tend to be talking down to you and treating you like a tool or a pawn that doesn't know what is "really" going on.

A villain (but maybe VETAs - I don't play those) is never going to be able to call for the assistance of Arachnos or minor villains that they defeated along the way.

If anything, you are bowing down and committing subservience to whichever Patron your character picks to get access to their related patron power pool (of course, a villain doesn't have to pick a patron, but you don't get anything for doing that other than not committing to subservience to a Patron.)
