Does anyone farm at a sub-50 level?

Not really.  It's either possible to find the recipes on the Auction House and just buy them.  Or AH-convert another Level of a particular recipe to whatever is wanted.

I know it was a thing back on live for folks looking for those pricey low level recipes like Miracles or Freebird +stealth (remember when those were highly sought after and stupid expensive?) but I don't know of anyone that still does that anymore. I certainly don't see it advertised in game or even discussed/mentioned here on the forums. It's probably just more efficient to farm at 50 and buy the low level enhancers/recipes off the AH.

in HC recipes have no level on the auction house. if there is a lvl 25 LoTG +Rech recipe posted for sale and a lvl 50 LoTG +Rech recipe posted for sale, both the level 25 and the lvl 50 listings will show 2 recipes being available

It wasn't the +stealth that made them so valuable. It was the groove it brought to your game!

I Farm at sub level 50! I do it so I can force weaker enemies to pay me tribute and allow me to brag how tough I am at bars!

I love that movie, and that still has to be one of the best fight scenes in a movie ever. Very few, if any, could potentially top it.

I actually hated a lot of that movie but yes... that was an absolutely stunning piece of choreography.  That scene in itself rescued the movie. And Sir Maurice of course

So, in an attempt to do some marketing on a grander scale, without having to buy rare salvage, I set about trying to farm with a level 50 fire tank, but the mission would exemp to 24, so that I'd get the 1st tier salvage (10-24) because recipes are cheaper to craft at that level. 

Now, it can certainly be done. But, because the build just isn't rounded out as well as it is at 50, the killing speed is nowhere near as fast or as efficient. I thought about doing tickets, but because the ticket cap for a map is so low, that is really inefficient. And just going for drops, I'd get the drops I'd want, but the time it takes to get them all, I'd spend my time farming, and not marketing. If I enjoyed farming more, I'd just do it at 50, and not worry so much about marketing. But I much prefer the market to farming. So, there it is. So, yeah, I'm sure someone does farm at low levels, but I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze.

I have been on lower level farms but as Ukase points out, they are rarely efficient

I actually have done this (under the guise of "running lvl 40 arcs") to get level 45 IO recipe drops, used to get the 45/50 recipe crafting badges (and the rewards that go with them).

 

The uncommon+ recipes are cheaper to craft when they are below level 50, but those drops are somewhat unreliable (compared to the commons, which we need lots of).
