I just got this for the first time on my level 29 Corruptor solo every contact project.  
 

I suppose the most useful thing to do is in kidnap/rescue Mr Dipstick set and fire at appropriate time.  Is there any way to tell when this will work and Dipstick will go to front door? Does it always work? Never?

 

Are there any other cool uses for the power?

Yep.  As long as they are attached to you, they will port to where you left the marker.

 

I haven't found a situation where they don't come with, one of the previous threads.

A strong team can, yes. The encounter favors burst damage to focus down the spawned seeds and make assaulting SoH manageable. 

 

That said on Everlasting it's pretty easy to get a small league going during Eastern US prime time.  Every time I've join the call, it got to 12-16 players fast and the SoH went down in 5 minutes.

If you're like me and always keep your in game map open, it will leave a nifty waypoint when you use the power, in addition to keeping a circle around the power and changing the image of the power in your power tray after successful activation.

 

You'll want to place the tp location you want to go back to (mark) near the entry door. Then once the npc escort target changes from blue to green, that means it's following you. Then just hit the Accolade Power again (recall) and you'll be back at the entrance with the NPC. Doesn't work with non-attacking grey/white NPCs. 

 

Fun uses includes getting Becky the Tarantula in the first mission of the ASF to the back easily. And during daily GM hunts on Indom when we go in to Boomtown, I'll place a mark at GWW while the league goes to Babbage. Once the league defeats Babbage, I'll recall then incan the league to GWW.

Two notes about Mark/Recall because I recently did a Katie Hannon TF:

 

-Mark/Recall WON'T work on the escort in the second mission (Amy Jonsson) - that particular mission is hard-coded to require an escort to the entrance of the map since Live (because, iirc, it's considered an exploit on what is already a short task force).

 

-Mark/Recall WILL work on the escort in the last mission (Katie's Spirit), BUT (and I admit I haven't been able to test this myself) only if she isn't aggro'd on an enemy mob. So clear out any nearby Red Caps, THEN free Katie, THEN Recall.

 

Mark/Recall also works well on the fifth mission of the Moonfire TF, where you have to escort Dr. Todd back to the beginning of the map. Using Teleport Target/Assemble the Team to get her back to the entrance before the Council ambush waves hit is a common tactic, and why I think when you see her in John Houston's rogue-only arc in Independence Port, she has Teleport as a travel power.

I imagine that using Mark & Recall for this mission would start the same way -- flying in, freeing Katie, and clearing mobs to get her to fly up with you where she's out of range to aggro on anyone, then using Recall. It would just save the nastiness of trying to get her to follow you all the way back without falling off on her own and stopping.

Mark and Recall absolutely, 100% does work on Katie mission 2.  I've done this many times since this new accolade was published, very satisfying with teammates telling me (at first)  that it doesn't work (because it does).  The link in the post 6 messages above corroborates this.

 

I'm guessing what happened to the above poster was that Amy "attached" to another teammate.   This is the biggest risk to successful M&R usage.  I urge my teammates to pull the fight away from the hostage and I stand right beside the NPC to minimize the risk of someone else getting "attached".

Well damn, I just tested it and it does, how about that.

 

I based that on ATT/teleporting team members not working, so I had presumed Mark/Recall wouldn't. This speeds things up a lot!

 

if this causes the merit reward at the end of the TF to be reduce I apologize in advance
