Yes, I could go on brainstorm and find out. But maybe someone can just answer this for me:

Burst of speed, I mash the power, I zip to the target, do a roundhouse kick, and can do it two more times, pretty much at my leisure it seems.

With combat teleport, does it work the same way, where you can Combat TP in, do your attack, maybe get ATT'd to another part of the map, and then use Combat TP again? Or does it have to be used within a certain time frame?

If I remember correctly it’s exactly the same as Jaunt, so each cast has a 6 second recharge, but you can cast it 3 times without actually seeing that recharge.

Ooh, I didn’t know it stacked!

I may need to fit CT in more builds.

Exactly what Psyonico said and it's fun! Combat Teleport gives you a stacking +8.5% ToHit (self only) for 5s after 0.5s. You can get that increased further with enhancements too. Jaunt does not do that.

It’s also great as a “get out of trouble” button.  You can instantly port out of giant mobs that have weakened your defense, and are beating your butt into submission.

At least that’s what I’ve been told 🙄

So, about the +ToHit bonus...

I couldn't tell what was actually going on under-the-hood, only what I could see from attribute monitoring and/or gui icons.

Combat Teleport is also a good place to slot the Rectified Reticle: Increased Perception global. Unlike the Warp: Range/Increased Perception IO, the Rectified Reticle IO is always on.

I guess this means that @Glacier Peak will take 5 rolls of Combat TP please. Man, you really need to lay of the Sliders a bit if you need 5 rolls to cover you... 😋

I know a lot of people who take CT on their melees.  I only take it on my Stalkers, using both a Shift+Lclick bind to CT to my cursor and a macro to CT on top of my target (it's for enemies but can be used to TP onto an ally).  Part of the reason is that it's a tiny DPS increase over time because it's faster in-combat movement to a sufficiently far enemy than anything else in the game.  Most of the reason is theme: it makes sense for Stalkers to do the "Nuthin Personnel Kid" TP meme when they also have the best burst damage.  I recommend you test it yourself a bit to see if it's worth the respec to you.  Committing to CT makes it much easier to also justify Fold Space.

I name the macro "Stalker's Step" because it amuses me.

So...if you're in the labyrinth and getting drawn to the center - can you combat tp (as if I could do it quickly enough, lol. but, hey, I can practice ) to the mythic fog and prevent your demise?

Sort of. If the shard is experiencing heavy load it will be a mixture of success and failure. I found the best way to take advantage of Combat TP in the Font is to aim to the very perimeter of the room where the death water is. That way, if there is lag and the skull suction is still happening, it won't pull you as your stuck to the inner perimeter wall. Sometimes TP to the Mythic Fog works, sometimes it doesn't (due to shard load) and same goes for getting behind a pillar.

One last question about it - for those that like it and use it - do you use it just as an opener to get the tohit buff, or are you using it throughout the fighting, or does it depend on where your accuracy is at that moment? I'm on Brainstorm now, trying to get used to it.

I've tended to use Jaunt but I use it for positioning mostly. It's very handy when I grab aggro and then put the tank between me and the bastard that wants to hit me

How the hell am I even supposed to know if ignorance is bliss?

I'm torn right now. For those that don't like my big walls of text, I've spared you. You're welcome.

Spoiler

Using Combat Teleport means losing leadership, which costs me 10.5% damage buff, and 15% in global recharge. Not to mention the consistent 10% (unenhanced value) of tactics for everyone nearby and myself, unlike CT. There's a few arguments for it - one being Fold Space. So many people love this power, even though it barely works half the time the way I'd want it to. Even with two HO  53 acc/threat/recharge...it still misses as many as it gets. (I'm thinking of Rikti during MSR) In a vacuum, it's not even close to worth it. As I would have to relearn how I play, which is generally with enough defense to handle the aggro that using fold space would bring. But, I don't play in a vacuum.

In the labyrinth, usually, there are enough buffs to keep most folks alive if they don't find themselves away from the mythic fog, the anchor. But that's just a small portion of the game. What about the pursuit of accolades, which is generally a solo effort? The odd Aeon SF with a pug, I'll need all the defense and resistance I can get.

Is it fair to say that most of you folks that use CT and Fold Space are doing so while teamed, presumably with team buffs to shore up the weaknesses in your build? If not, how close are you coming to defeat during your boss fights? Are you just jumping in like a fire blaster, or being clever and whittling down the mob size first?

I'm just trying to temper what my expectations will be. I could just make another blaster, and level up with it. That would be the smart thing, because then I'd know what I could, and could not do with more clarity than just making a second build or using a respec.  While I don't mind playing melee, I do mind playing melee all the time. That's why I've always loved playing a blaster. You can range or melee, and have the tools to do both well.

I really liked Burst of Speed. Very useful. Not nearly as situational as I thought. And it's superior in a sense to CT, because with the OF damage/kd, it knocks them down and buys me time to use Dragon's tail, and Eagle Claw on anything left standing. With CT, it puts me in position, but there's a fraction of a second where I've got to wait for an attack to activate. But I think most folks look at CT like a bonus, the real gem is fold space. And situationally, I'm sure it's a valid perspective.

I guess I just go ahead and make it and build it. That's what all the slots are for, right?

And this build is weak. Maybe strong on damage in some powers, but I'm sure it's gonna die before it does half of it. I have no idea how anyone can play a gimp build like this with any efficiency, but I'll soon see.

I use Combat Teleport strictly to position my character for melee/PBAoE attacks. The TP part has some limited value (Mayhem missions, for example). See my bug report on the observed wonkiness with the ToHit Buff.

I use it for positioning and moving between targets. I have enough acc/tohit in my builds already that the buff from CT is superfluous. I use keybinds to TP me to targets (and away from targets - I have one that sends me backward 100 ft).
