Chalkarts Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I know the various servers tend to focus on different things. Whether regional or Roleplay or such. Is there a server that leans into the Praetorian side of the game? I'd love to see it populated.
Lunar Ronin Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) Nope. It's not really possible. Unless you get a static team together that you micromanage to the extreme (which I have actually been doing the past couple of months), Praetoria just isn't conducive to teaming. Too many branching paths, and solo missions that interfere with team play where you have to break up the team, and then reform. Praetoria is more for solo and duo play than team play. Snarky Posted July 7 Posted July 7 We have heard suggestions for a pvp server. We see requests for a gold server. i think there should be a pvp gold server. That is where the crowds are! 1
Go0gleplex Posted July 7 Posted July 7 HA! Pvp while dodging Kaiju Hami & minions....comedy gold. 😉 lol

Given some of the things that are described in the lore for Praetoria, it makes me wonder whether making the entirety of Praetoria open-world PvP wouldn't be more accurate to represent the 'everyone for yourself' attitude of a lot of the residents. Watching the Responsibility Loyalists and Resistance Wardens trying to hold the moral high ground while the Power Loyalists and Resistance Crusaders are pushing their own agendas to the limit of what they can get away with. Unfortunately, that would likely depopulate Goldside even more than it already is. 1

This is a worse idea than my "Praetorian Death From Below" where your level 1 gets just absolutely murdered by level 54 devouring earth. 1 1
BlackSpectre Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Praetoria is pretty cool. I have a few characters that I started there and moved over to Primal Earth for various story plot reasons. Probably Excelsior has the largest population in Praetoria at any given time, since it's the most populated server in general. Not sure that helps. I wish there were higher level missions there and that you could stay past level 20. But Praetoria has a story arc to maintain, and apparently it gets destroyed once you're done with the story there. A good story teller could figure out a way to bring Praetoria back to life, but until then it's only lowbie mission arcs and then done. Scarlet Shocker Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I'm not even sure how a Praetorian shard would work. What would it bring to the player experience and to the game environment? The existing shards tend to function for specific communities in a very loose and "unofficial" way. Reunion is aimed at European players, Everlasting for RPers and the other shards give you options for your population preference. We don't even have a specific "Villain" shard or even Hero oriented shards (not that one is needed) so I have no clue what OPs vision for that would be. Remember, we're a niche game with few resources and an entirely voluntary management structure. What we have serves us well but even trying to get a Goldside team on Excelsior is enough to make dogs cry and babies howl sometimes so creating a new even more ghostly shard seems like a great waste of resource and unless I'm missing something, adds little to the game. Rather than adding to choice, this would seem to detract from our existing choices. a hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
