What about making the Mot-infested version of it into a full zone? I'm far from a coder, but it seems like this wouldn't be as hard as something 100% new like an original zone. Most of the art/animations exist in game and all.

 

It would be great if there were missions, a zone event, and/or a "new" GM like Mother Keres, the avatar of Mot, and/or the Sentinel of Mot.

I'd rather not have another zone go MIA.  Yes, villain side only basically has 1 zone per level range, but I don't know if that is necessarily an advantage.

 

Also, FF is the only way to get to Eden other than a base portal.  To turn FF into an incarnate level zone would basically block off Eden from sub 50s.

The Mot-infested version of Founder's Falls exists for a single mission. In an arc where you defeat and contain Mot, forcing it out of Founder's Falls. I don't see how a single-shot mission would really work as a full-fledged zone. Further, the Echo zones are there for nostalgia purposes since they have been replaced with newer versions of said zone. And there was never a Mot-infested zone to turn into an Echo. It was only ever a single mission map.

 

It would make more sense to request this as an AE available map if it isn't already, but it doesn't make sense to turn a mission map into an Echo zone.

I suggest reworking this idea, considering:

  • Making such a zone as co-op
  • Finding a Lore-related reason why an entire zone might exist....
  • ... and figure out a way to make it so the existing zone doesn't go away / fulfills its current purpose.

FF is kinda important, as is, with the stores, contacts, etc.

That's not what OP is suggesting. They are suggesting an echo version.

They are not suggesting anything be changed about Founders Falls. They are suggesting a new, separate zone. It wouldn't block anything.

The above is accurate, I am suggesting zero changes to the current zone.

 

With the exception of Galaxy, all the other Echoes exist in addition to the normal zone.

 

As for tidge's suggestions:

 

1. Aren't all echo zones co-op?

2. That's literally covered in the DA arc.

3. Never said it should.

You certainly confused me, because (1) we don't get missions to Echo: Zones and (2) the one mission to FF that I can think of during the Incarnate content gets cleaned up as part of the arc... so I have no idea why there would be an Echo instance of it. It would make as much sense to ask for an echo of lava-filled Hollows because of SSA1.

This would be the first Echo zone fully created by Homecoming, so it could potentially have extra options.

 

If that cannot be done, a GM could be an option like in Echo DA.

 

The lava filled section of The Hollows is a false dichotomy. That is an underground section of the zone. Mot infested FF is an entire zone transformation, and part of a timeline.

 

Edit: To expand on why it could exist is the same reason as the other Echoes. True, in the mission you can clear out the enemies, yes. What you cannot do is remove the mot tentacles and bones.

Uhm... no. In the SSA where the Hollows are filled with lava, you aren't in an underground section of the zone. You are in the lava-filled Hollows. Just like how in that one Dark Astoria mission where you take a portal to Founder's Falls fighting Mot's influence, you are in the Mot-infested Founder's Falls. In both cases, the situation is transient; quickly rectified as part of the arc they are in.

 

(Edit: For clarity, the obelisk you have to either defend or take down is set up in the middle of the Hollows. Not under it. When save or fight Synapse, it is in the middle of the Hollows surrounded by lava, not under it.)

Unless you consider being used for the new blueside tutorial a 'newer version', and that doesn't fly because all of the plaques from the original zone are in Echo:GC and nowhere else. It's not just nostalgia, it's three history plaques you won't find anywhere else.

True, Galaxy City does not currently have a replacement zone map the way other Echo zones do. However, the zone was still intentionally removed by the Live devs, so Galaxy City is still an Echo zone for nostalgia purposes. (And badge purposes just like all the other Echo zones with their specific zone badges.)

This sounds fine. Now that the OP made it clear that the original FF would not go away (I didn't think that was what they meant originally) I see no issue with this suggestions happening when the team has time.

Echo zones are old versions of zones that have since been changed. Not seeing how that concept is applicable to Founder’s Falls?

That's right! Echo zones are old versions of zones. OP is proposing an echo zone that's not an old version of a zone. It would be a... new? Alternate? Different! It would be a different version of a zone.
