Excraft Posted Tuesday at 07:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:16 PM Aw man, I just watched the final Black Sabbath show with Ozzy and Metallica. So sad to hear about this. RIP Ozzy.
ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:21 PM (edited) Quote If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.’ That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man. - Ozzy, Rolling Stone, Nov. 2023 Ya made it, bab. And they said thanks to you too. So do I. EDIT: Edited Tuesday at 09:38 PM by ThaOGDreamWeaver WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE. battlewraith Posted Tuesday at 07:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:38 PM Well despite subsisting on vodka and cocaine for years, he lasted long than Bowie, Prince, and a whole bunch of other people. And he went out with a banger show, so well done Ozzy! 1
Ghost Posted Tuesday at 08:36 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:36 PM Sad day indeed. I was such a huge fan of his in the 80s/90s. I saw him in concert every time he came to town, from Bark at The Moon to No More Tears. 😔😔😔
Dynamo-Joe Posted Wednesday at 04:00 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:00 PM 3 December 1948 – 22 July 2025 I wasn't the biggest fan of the OZ. But as the years went on I respected what he'd done more and more. Not ALL of it. You don't get a moniker like "The Prince of Darkness" and NOT have a dark side. He screwed a few people over here and there. But the music industry as a whole tends to do that. So... yeah. That happened. More to the point. As Razor points out in the following video - no one - absolutely NO ONE. Ever remotely SOUNDED like him! EVER. One of God's own prototypes. Too fast to live. Too weird to die... well - at least until now. And Keith Richards gets another "Hey look who I outlived!" on his running tally. 2
Dynamo-Joe Posted Wednesday at 04:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:08 PM Addendum - I learned today that when Ozzy had his genome sequenced (because of course he did), they found that he had a number of previously unknown mutations, including one that gave him a much higher tolerance for alcohol. So yeah. Add "Mutant" to the list of Ozzy Osbourne's traits. As if we didn't already suspect that all along.

PeregrineFalcon Posted Wednesday at 05:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:25 PM Rest in peace, Prince of Darkness. See you on the Other Side. Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.
Six-Six Posted Wednesday at 05:39 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:39 PM My son informed over dinner. I was visibly affected. Afterwards, I sat there with Diary of a Madman on loop. You can't kill rock and roll. My Toons

Lots of Keith Richards is the last Highlander jokes and memes on line. "Every time a musician dies, Keith Richards gets the Quickening" Getting hard to argue against that.... Ozzy was, without a doubt, one of the out-and-out funniest guys in rock and roll. "I left the band due to musical differences. They were musical... I was... different." "I've done my share of bad things in life. Probably your share as well." "I used to get upset by people not understanding me, but I’ve made a career out of it now." "I don’t think we [Black Sabbath] ever got a good review for anything we did. Which is why I never bother with reviews. Still, one of the few good things about being dyslexic is that when I say I don’t read reviews, I mean I don’t read reviews." "The only Black Magic we ever got into was the box of chocolates." ...and on that note, my favourite Ozzy story that's come out these last couple of days. Back in the early days of Sabbath, earnest young proto-Goths would gather around their dressing room, and on one occasion, lit candles and began praying to Satan. Ozzy wandered out, sat with them for a bit, sang Happy Birthday to them and blew them out. BTW: the gig, merch, and associated spinoff single have raised north of £140m ($190m) and still counting for two children's hospitals and Parkinson's research. 1 WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND...
