In Oroboros there is a contact called Astral Christy; you can use 5 Astral merits to gain an email voucher which will unlock your Alpha slot on any toon that is trained to 50. Astral merits are awarded during the Incarnate trials, for doing the Tin Mage or Apex TFs, and for running the Signature Story arcs.

Realizing that there was some Incarnate farming exploits we'd like to not.. (Empyreans!!), the Alpha unlock for veterans is lost to time.

Alpha unlock's so insanely easy though. The arc's cake, and if you don't want to do that, just playing does it.

I feel like by the time you can get 5 astral merits you'd already have alpha unlocked.
