biostem
So I was reading through the various dominator secondary (assault) sets, and noticed the martial assault one. That got me thinking - could you create a similar set but with modern weaponry. The things is, I'm kind of on the fence regarding whether using various rifle butt or bayonet-like stabbing attacks would be preferable to either regular melee, (think street justice), or something like broadsword attacks. With the control set already causing you to sheath then redraw your weapon, this set would already be fighting an uphill battle. Your thoughts? 1. Burst 2. Rifle butt (ST melee, chance to stun) 3. Slug 4. Rifle rake (basically a cone version rifle butt) 5. At the Ready (minor +dmg, +tohit +rech buff) 6. Danger close (basically a PBAoE flashbang launched from your AR, which disorients targets and applies -tohit and -defense to them) 7. Ignite 8. Sniper rifle 9. WP buckshot (similar to regular buckshot, but also causes fire damage and applies a minor -tohit to affected targets)
Xaeon
I was also wondering if Bows could get a similar treatment. "Titan/Bio scrappers are the stealthiest toons in the game." "How's that possible? They don't have any inherent stealth and you'd never take concealment pool powers on them!" "You see; they're perfect at stealth because nobody will notice if there's nobody to notice." Steampunkette
It's entirely the redraw issue. Because Dominators are using their secondary powers for attacks that would have redraw, it's not a good option. Now if there was something like Deadshot's wrist-mounted gun that could be implemented as a costume piece akin to the Vanguard Shield or the Crab Spider Backpack, -then- you could do something like this by just having the character point their wrist as part of the animation to fire off disintegration beams or whatever. Only if we can all get that! Redraw is already optional in the customization for costumes, making the weapons optional (even for non weapon attacks!) would be superb
Shazbotacus
I actually would love to see this along with a “Riot/Tactical Munitions” control set for a secondary that would have the player doing hard CC and other Controller things with less-than-lethal riot munitions such as stun grenades, tear gas grenades, beanbag and taser rounds, etc, all fired from the underslung launcher. Maybe even make some stuff up like an “anti-gravity grenade” that does a strong knock up on targets or whatever. EDIT: I might say that this set you propose should focus more on single-target damage, but perhaps that can be for a beam rifle assault set. Single target immob as you hit them with a nerve-wracking blast that lowers their accuracy by overloading their nerves, making them lose partial control over their limbs. Tier 4: Sticky Grenade. Single Target Mag 3 Hold and 2 seconds later a PBAoE centered on the enemy Pseudopet Explosion that does knockdown and stun along with some damage. Tier 9: Overload. You put your beam rifle's resonating chamber into a closed loop and hurl it at your enemies. Targeted AoE massive debuffs/hold as the phased-burst overloads everyone's systems.
