Nafsmar Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Hello since I now have some inf to think about slotting sets for my character I was never quite sure if the Luck of the gambler 7.5 IO is counted in the "rule of 5". If I have 4 sets that give 7.5 recharge and also have 2 Luck 7.5 IOs is one a waste?
Bopper Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 It follows the Rule of 5 in the sense you can't have more than 5 LotG +Recharge enhancements. But the 7.5% global recharge it gives does not count towards other 7.5% recharge bonuses you get from set IO bonuses. So you can have 5 of each for a total of 75% global recharge. So to answer your question, you did not waste one. Nafsmar Posted July 18, 2019 Author Posted July 18, 2019 Thank you for the answer. It is a big help in building out my character
Primantis Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 IIRC the "Rule of 5" uses *names* when tallying the bonuses up. Since the LotG:+R bonus has its own unique name ("Luck of the Gambler: Recharge Bonus" IIRC). It will not count towards other IO bonuses that have +7.5% recharge. You can find these names listed under your IO Bonus list in your player profile's 'Powers' tab. So if you have two IO bonus with the same numerical boost, but different bonus names they have their own category under "Rule of 5" and thus you can technically have 5 of each. However I am not aware of many instances where this actually happens. LotG:+R is certainly one of the rare occasions this will occur.

This right here is correct, the quota of 5 is based on the set bonus name which most of the time is uniquely associated with a certain set bonus magnitude but not always.
