You'll have to forgive my lurkiness... it's always been my way.

That said, I just wanted to say 'hi' to all and let you know how much I appreciate all the effort that has gone into this revival.

I used to play on Virtue server back in the day and had a little time in SGs such as Gods/Guardians of the Golden Age.

Ironwork was probably my most recognized toon along with the Midnight Mask...

TBH I bet I spent as much or more time in the character creator as I did actually playing 😅

These days I play on Everlasting. Ironwork and the guys are there, along with some new creations.

It's almost like it never went away.

that is perfectly fine but if people want to introduce themselves and be welcomed I wanted there to be a place for that as well.

by how you could make almost anyone or anything in the CC and then jump in the game and play as them. Such a game changer.

Hello, @Christopher Robin. You're probably sick of seeing my little green Q all over the place by now. 😛

 

I played for a few months when CoH was live. I really enjoyed the costume creator. (How many MMO's let you be less that four feet tall or over eight feet tall without class restrictions?) I was so sad to discover a few years later that the game was gone. I'm so happy it's back - and it's far better than I remembered.

 

I'm still pretty new to the game, but the character I've played the most so far is Dr. Joseph Schmoe. He's not the most visually interesting character I've made, but I think he has the most personality.

That's also correct!

However, schmoe (without the Joe) has a couple different meanings.

Ok I'll say Hi!.

 

Been around MMO for far too long, on D&D I was known as 'Big E' I guess the capital E in Eirwen.  Love art/multimedia I guess we all do being here. Colour (yes the Limey spelling for me!) has always been my thing, at a young age back in the 70's, (oh no there goes my age) I was told 'I would never be good with numbers, but colour watch out!' and boy were they correct. Been a Lythographer, which I guess in simple terms is I run one of those huge printing press for the last 35 years, colour is all I do every day, match it, mix it, create it. The young lad I'm teaching right now says how do you get colour so fast, experience I guess. Did some pencil drawing when I was young and been into computers since the Sinclair ZX81 days (there that age again), but never yet tried art on the computer for some reason. In my teen years I was going to do a tryout for Marvel as a colour artist, Had the package ready but never did, got into print, and well, things never go as we plan :) 

I love costumes, thats my thing in these games, I used to collect armour (yes Ye Olde English spelling again) for the looks not the stats, that was the days when you never had a vanity slot for looks to keep the stats, for me its not about the skills, if my toon does not look correct I cannot get into playing them.

Well I think thats about it, enough of me boring you. Feels sooooo good to be back in our city

Good to see we have someone with decades of color matching experience and

it's cool to hear you tried out for a position with Marvel.

 

I don't know if you ever heard of Swanzy (aka Eddy Swan) but back during live he got part of his early experience coloring CoH art
and has since gone on to be a professional freelance colorist working for companies like Xenoscope and Top Cow comics.

 

I too was a fan of computers for many years and actually started building them custom for friends, family and clients

back in 2000 and I can directly relate to that line about not connecting with a character you've made if you

cannot get the look you want. I went so far as to actually start modding for the few instances where

the CC didn't have a face or costume option I decided I needed for a particular heroes look.

Sidenote:  Did you know the slang term "Limey" came about as a scientific solution to the disease Scurvy?

Turns out it was simply a Vitamin C deficiency that was the cause of the often fatal condition

that plagued primarily sailors since being on board a ship for so many months with

no access to fruits and vegetables led to a point in history where the Royal

British Navy worked under the assumption that 50% of sailors leaving

port for any extended missions would die along the way from it.

 

The simple answer was citrus juice, initially lemon but later from limes

as they were in abundant supply in the British Caribbean colonies. Barrels of

limes became standard issue on British long voyage ships hence the name "Limey." 

I always found it amusing that the slightly derogatory slang for British sailors and eventually

Hi I'm Barbarette. I play mostly tanks.
I was Blasterette back on live. Mostly on Justice.

Wish I could draw as good as all the talented people here.

 

I don't always know what to say in these things so I just lurk about looking at all the art and costume stuff.

But now there is a chance to be in one so I am turning off the lurk mode for a bit. I have never had any art done of any of my heros so it is worth a shot.

Hi, Hello! I've been lurking the arts forms for a while.  I keep thinking I should throw something into the costume thread but never really get around to it. My talents lay in creating pictures with words and story lines instead of drawing.

 

I'm an OG from live (Beta even!).

 

Most know me as Tenebrous Night (BS/Invul scrapper)or TenTen from Infinity (and Unmasked).

A few knew me as Sigund (Shield/Axe tank) or Siggy from Virtue.

 

And at this moment in time wishing I'd chosen a different forum handle!

 

On homecoming I'm running around on Red Side as Midnight Thorn, and having a blast!

Nice artz you have there too, lots of great details.

 

In the first one I'm guessing that Skull rolled a 1 and failed his "Save vs. Irony" check.

 

The second is morbid and creepifying all rolled into one. Also I get the "DIE" spelled in blocks and Tragedy Ann

but a few questions come to mind... first is the upside down G just an extra letter or is it Anne G like Angie?

2nd does the HEX refer to her powers or something else? Also the straight jacket seems to be falling

in the shape of either a W-I or a W-! is that just coincidence? Also I have seen a colorful spinning

top just like that one in my Grandma's basement. That combined with all the toys positioned

to be in shock means she cared enough to stage them. So extra creep out points there.

 

Finally, ONOZ Raggedy Andy! You can't just die like that! Seriously not like that!

....do you have any idea how hard it is to get blood out of tile grout??
