ParaBruce
In the past, when I've had the bubbling urge, I've done robots/FF because, well, they're fun and fit together reasonably well. But I got to wondering: how do the other primaries work with bubbles?
SmalltalkJava
My signature has a link to a post where the true MM guru's posted the default Resistances and Defenses for each pet. I think that /FF will enhance all pets across the board. Even with the ones that are considered to be resistance based, it will cover their weakness. It will also enhance the strength of the Defense based pets. I haven't actually gone through and seen what proc/slot sets are available. My 3 /FF masterminds are still in thier 20's/30s. So far I haven't really noticed any big difference regarding the defense boost difference of the pet primaries. I just don't notice a few percent difference in a fight. - In short, If you like Bots/FF then you will almost guaranteed like the other sets and /FF, as long as you like those type of pets. +Def is +Def. Here is an unenhanced comparison between Bots and Beasts Defenses for /FF Bots/FF with one level 25 crafted IO slotted in Protector Bots, Dispersion Bubble, and Insulation Shield. Spoiler Ranged Def Battle Drone 1 Total: 42.68 % Maneuvers +2.63 From Lord Varas Force Shield +8.85% from Protector Bot Force Shield +8.85% from Protector Bot Dispersion Bubble +8.94 from Lord Varas Insulation Shield +13.41% from Lord Varas Base Defense +0.00% Protector Bot 1 Total: 33.83 % Maneuvers +2.63 From Lord Varas Force Shield +8.85% from Protector Bot Dispersion Bubble +8.94 from Lord Varas Insulation Shield +13.41% from Lord Varas Base Defense +0.00% Beats/FF with one level 25 crafted IO slotted in Dispersion Bubble, and Insulation Shield. Spoiler Ranged Def Howler Wolf 1 Total: 34.92 % With 1 Roar active: 40.92; 2 Roars Active 46.92 Maneuvers +2.63 From Nature Conservancy Resistance +9.95 from Self Dispersion Bubble +8.94 from Nature Conservancy Insulation Shield +13.41% from Nature Conservancy Base Defense +0.00% Lioness 1 Total: 36.08 % With 1 Roar Active: 42.08; 2 Roars Active 48.08 Maneuvers +2.63 From Nature Conservancy Resistance +11.10% from Self Dispersion Bubble +8.94 from Nature Conservancy Insulation Shield +13.41% from Nature Conservancy Base Defense +0.00% Additionally, there is a bug for the Summon Lions. It takes +Def IO's but it doesn't actually affect the Lioness Roar. At least from what I could tell. Her roar was always the same amount even with +def IO's slotted. Warlawk
I'm just curious what your attraction is to the FF set? I'm not by any means trying to discourage you from playing it but would like to suggest a possible alternative in Cold Domination. FF will have a very slight edge in +def since Dispersion bubble has more Def than Arctic Fog. The rest of the FF set is generally considered to be a little lackluster. It is a set from the launch of the game I believe and it shows its age. Cold will have the same 'bubble' defense shields (thank the lords for the minimal FX option!) and the rest of the set offers far more utility than the KB tricks that FF focuses on. If FF is your thing or you just want to play FF or whatever, do it! Just wanted to throw out a possible alternative that has a lot of utility but doesn't see much play. 1 Numpad binds for Masterminds - A collection of Farming focused builds - MM /Time guide for all primaries @Zen Warlawk on Indomitable, @Warlawk#1697 in discord. ParaBruce
It's a mix of concept and aesthetics. I'm a very long-time sf and comics readers, and force fields have been a staple of my imagination since I was in single digits. There's also an interplay with constraints imposed by the cascading damage done from a rare auto-immune disorder. I don't like character-obscuring powers, and with MMs can't get the level of obscuring reduction I want, and the visual fry from "rain" powers can be nigh-migraine inducing - I often have to tilt my camera away from Snow Storm, in particular. SmalltalkJava
One thing about the Beasts primary. Don’t play them unless you mind constant howling. The wolves howl and howl and howl. Another thing about force fields. In repulsion bomb. I would look into slotting knock back to knockdown. And some other damage procs. 1 Baseline MM Henchmen Defenses and Resist Values MM - Beast Pets - Pet Attack usage and some quick proc testing
ParaBruce
Appreciate the warning about beasts - I knew it, but it may save someone else's sanity. 🙂 And agreed, about repulsion bomb (and force bolt, if for some silly reason I've taken it). I agree with KB-KD on Repulsion Bomb, but NOT Force Bolt. It's single target, so I think it's perfect to use in a precise manner to knock a single enemy exactly where I want them. But, to each their own. 1 I'm out.

I was browsing your build in Mids and did a little experiment. If you deselect all the skills from the primary and secondary and just leave the Pools slotted as you have them... You get this, little nugget of defense awesomeness. Over soft cap def to S/L/E. And with 11 slots left open to choose from the primary and secondary. This is still with PowerBoost off. Spoiler - Edit - I think that someone with more knowledge and experience than myself could probably take this and make a starter template for MM's that is +def capped.
