Hi Guys. I'm back again. I used to post a lot in the Art/Multimedia section with costume designs and artwork and stuff, but I've just discovered base building as a thing. I've been playing since about 2008 and then HC, and always had a little simple base as a storage and transport area. Added all my alts and it served me fine but I was always a bit protective of it, like, it's my little space. Then the other month I discovered Dacy, and base building links, and...

Well, I've built a bigger base, and i'd like you all to visit 🙂

I'm a massive fan of 2000ad comic, Judge Dredd and all that cyberpunk stuff, most of my toons are based on it, including Robot H3NRI, and so is my base. It's a working base, has a transport station and storage/workshop area close to the zone in, but the rest is literally just for fun. I've tried to tell a story in each area, there's a break in, there's a car chase, secret bars, apocalyptic wastelands... it's all there. And to keep with the judge dredd mega city vibe, i've tried to pack a lot of stuff all in a small area to give a noisy, chaotic, busy area, with some 2000ad british humour included.

It's very much a work in progress (W I P), some area's I've blocked, some are open but 'messy', I'm worried that might break the immersive feel of it, but i've decided to open it anyway. I'm knackered and need a break from it, haha.

Here's a few pics. I can post more...

The leader of Sovereign SG asked me if I would help spruce up one of the internal points inside the main SoV base.  I had a lot of fun rebuilding it and thought the end result turned out rather well.

Today, I say a post in Chat in which Baddie Laucianna was offering 'a beautiful teleport hub' to the public. I just recently started work on two bases and was pretty happy with the way they looked, even though I was aware there was a lot I didn't know about base construction. Using the passcode Divine-29035, I checked it out.

And I was immediately blown away!

The base turned out to be built on a mountain surrounded by a night time sky and with a sea extending around it in every direction. It was bedecked with all matter of waterfalls, precariously perched platforms, little bridges and Roman villas, winding stairways, stone statues, lanterns and candles, little offshore islands,  and all kinds of incomprehensible but beautiful objects and decorations in every nook and cranny. Not to mention floating things up in the sky covered in lights which were inaccessible to me since I have yet to get any kind of flight power for that character.

I went all over, taking in the magical splendor of the place, awestruck. Unfortunately I kept falling off the platforms and staircases because there were so many twists and turns and unexpected drops over cliffs or into waterfall chasms and had a hard time getting back up the mountain. I wish I brought a flying character.

To say that I was humbled by what this person did with this magnificent base is a gross understatement. I've never seen a place so beautiful in this game and I've been playing since the old days before it was shut down. Compared to this, the meagre efforts I made on my own bases (of which I was absurdly proud) were laughable.

The place was empty of people, dream-like, an enchanting. Finally, I tried clambering my way up the mountain to go back to the teleportation devices (and falling down the mountain into the sea for my pains so I had to try again). I wanted to write a post in here before I forgot everything I saw. On my way out I saw people sitting on a seat by the edge of a cliff face. I said, "Hello. Beautiful base, no?" to them but received no reply. Perhaps they were as amazed by this wonderful place as I.

Has anyone seen this base? I am certain it would easily win any contest for beauty or creativity. I only wish I had pictures to share.

Hopefully it's entered in the Directory! The Directory has a guest book where you can put your rave review for all to see! Also, please visit the TOUR hubs, they have all the contestants for the current base contest, and there are some super amazing builds. And visit other servers! We have an amazing and creative crew. (If you like floating islands, please visit the Pagoda, on Everlasting, GHOST-1471; every area is accessible without flight. It is one of the contest winners, all of which are denoted in the TOUR hubs, and all of which are incredible bases.)

I have, yes.  And you're right, it's fantastic!  The mosaic at the entrance was alone worth the price of admission!  (Okay, it's free, but had there been a cost...)  I took several notes and a lot of pictures.  I'd post some, but I personally kind of feel that's the creator's right, unless Laucianna is fine with others posting shots.
