Andrewvm Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I just installed yesterday and really loved the trip down memory lane. I found that when entering atlas City Hall or a mission door, the game exits to desktop. No messages or anything. I'm playing the 32bit version (old laptop, clean install) on win10. The game does warn that my gfx driver is old (but duh, the laptop is 10 years old). I'll look into that today just to be sure. Anyone have ideas what it could be?
Andrewvm Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 Update: the video drivers dated 2016 (that I have) are the newest... Anyone have an idea what to do?
MetaVileTerror Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I am occasionally having a similar bug, but so far only when I'm overtaxing my computer with lots of programs running simultaneously. You may want to monitor your CPU and GPU usage in Task Manager to see if it spikes at the time when the game shuts down on you.
WanderingAries Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Try lowering your GFX and stepping them up slowly. Also try the safemode first and then the 32bit. EmmySky Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Also, I found that Windows lies about updated drivers....be sure to check the manufacturers website to see if it is up to date. Mine is Radeon and Windows said it was up to date with a 15 or 16 driver but on their website I got a new driver from just like 2 or 3 weeks ago. Dont believe Windows!
