  1. I've seen tequila remove older versions of itself, and the new shortcut is somewhere else on my desktop.

I don't know how clean or cluttered your desktop is, @Troo, but on the off chance you have dozens of icons floating in different spots, maybe double check everything and make sure Tequila didn't land itself next to Hello Kitty Adventure or something?

  2. I know sometimes if you don't disconnect properly, the game still thinks you're logged in. But unless his character was in task force mode, the game should have disconnected the character anyway.

I would submit a support ticket so the GMs can check log in history and see if something is going on. You can do that from the forums here, there's a "Support" button up top (or in the mini menu if you're on mobile)

    There is no best server.

    ...in Ba Sing Se?

But for real, if we're going to point at HCs problems and say "it's not the best server ", then there's an implication that other servers do these objectively better AND that there IS such a thing as a "best server". If there's truly no such thing as a best server, then, why bring it up at all?

    Ok it's in the wording.

Having the largest population server doesn't mean it's the best server. Better?

So, which server IS the best server then?

If you don't have an answer to that (or if it winds up being HC anyway) then your point, as logical as it may be in general, falls flat on its face.

  5. Something I just thought of: instead of specific objects having a specific function, allow the function to be imprinted onto any object.

In plainer parlance: let me turn a barrel into a storage bin. A door into a tailor. A counter into a workbench.

They would retain their apperances, but would preclude the need to hide NPCs behind geometry, doing weird gymnastics with the insanely large functional items to "camoflauge" them, and would save on object counts.

    My 2 inf, anyway.

  6. Oh, I'm definitely in the "sell now" camp. Prices will only drop as supply moves to meet demand. Badgers, like me, of course will want a bunch, but I'm willing to be patient on that goal, as immediate profit is more enticing. Some crazy folks, like @Voltor, who wants all the badges on each AT, may or may not be as patient. And while most RPers probably have thier eye on one or two specific costumes, I'm sure there are some "completionists" out there who are going to bloat their inventory and get every single one. And I don't doubt that there isn't some crossover happening here (like a badging marketer or three with 100billion+ inf to burn who want ALL THE THINGS)

And so unless all these folks run HM content until they barf, I think demand will outpace supply for a fair while, though obviously not going for 100M a piece.

    Seriously, who did that?! XD

  7. The lore of the well and gaining incarnate powers does have issues (like how the "slow path to power" is just a few hours of farming, and how the Well is granting you power because it needs strong fighters but then wants you to have to earn it...yeah ok, be stingy, have fun getting eaten, jerk!), but I'm also surprised by how many people reject it outright, like they're offended that changes to the game world and mechanics would dare affect their characters!

Some of y'all take your characters' backstories and your own creativity WAY too seriously. But whatevs.

Cap au Diable is the hub zone of red side, not Mercy Island.

Honestly, a starter zone also being a community event zone is a bad idea.  It's one of the main reasons why I avoid Atlas Park.  Too much going on, too many people, and the resulting lag (at least on Excelsior), gives a terrible first impression of the game.

On one hand, I see where you're coming from... on the other, I have to strongly disagree.

The game is an MMORPG called CITY OF HEROES. If the first thing a new player sees upon logging in is an empty city devoid of heroes, they're probably gonna feel a little cheated or lied to.

I've tried rolling toons on other shards and even other servers. If I see an empty AP, then it's a sure thing I'm certainly not going to find people to team with or talk to.

Even if you don't like teaming and want to treat the whole thing as a solo endeavor (which I totally respect), it's hard to ignore the fact that the city zones have large open spaces to accommodate dozens or more heroes flying and jumping every which way, and having no one else around feels... well, I don't know what the opposite of claustrophobia is called, but that. At least to me.

Logging in and seeing a full Atlas Park with heroes gathered around Ms. Liberty and standing on the nearby ledge and running to and fro... it's a sign of a healthy and active community. That's what makes CoH special for me.

But then of course I'll go farm in an AE map or hide in my base or try soloing a task force. It's just nice having other people around, I guess!

  9. You could pull off Illusion being a super speed set. Use the hold to "freeze time" while you run around and set things up (like /traps!), Phantom Army could be your after images... and of course Superior Invis because you're so fast no one can see you. Might be tough justifying some of the other powers, though.

  10. @Hyperstrike Thanks! I'll have to check that out in Mids when I get home.

At a glance, though, I'm a little concerned about the lack of slotting in Dull Pain. Though between the increased survival numbers and (hopefully) attentive teammates, I probably wouldn't need the power as much, is that correct?

  11. @Linea Oh, no, I don't plan to solo! I just want to stay on my feet long enough to do my job! I died more times in one 4 star run than the rest of my playtime combined!

However, if everything has like a 75%+ chance to hit regardless, hrrmm.

    I'll look into those 801 builds 😃

Edit: I've been searching for an hour and can't find anything. Little help? =(

Had a quick play with this on Brainstorm. I notice that while I draw my weapon with the normal animation, it just teleports back to my back when I'm done using it. I wonder if it's feasible to play the drawing animation in reverse?

Apparently they couldn't get a good looking animation to do so. You can't just reverse the "draw " animation, it ends up looking janky. Or something like that, I forget how Cobalt explained it.

  13. So I took her out for a test run: build is a MAJOR end hog. Gonna try +5ing any Endredux enhancers and seeing if that makes any difference. Might also swap one of the +Heal enhancers in either Stamina or Physical Perfection and seeing if that helps more than the +~50HP I get back every 10 seconds...

  14. Oh FFS i don't have the bonuses/stats listed; UGH. I'll just do it myself:

S/L def: 51.36% with 1 foe in range

    F/C/E/N def: 32.92

    Psi: 17.15

    Melee: 42.15

    Range: 18.4

    AoE: 17.15

    S/L Res: 90+

    F/C: 54.88

    E/N: 52.63

    Tox: 35.38

    Psi: 19

    Regen: 275

    MaxHP: 2579

    End Rec: 3.13

    End use: 2.09

    Max End: 113.6

    Haste: 167.5%

    ToHit: +13%

    Acc: +35%

    Dam: +108%

    EndRdx: +12.5%

    Threat: 400

Note: these numbers do not take into account Hasten, Dull Pain, or any procs being active.

  15. So, I've been testing the new content on the beta server. And my Tank, which has done quite well against everything else thrown at her so far, even Dr. Aeon's Hard Mode, is getting absolutely pasted in the new stuff (at 4 stars, but still)!

So, I'm starting from scratch. My old build was Jack-of-all trades with a bunch of Psi resist to fill the hole, and procs to leverage Rad's -def status. I've tossed that aside and focused on Survivability, Recharge (for Dull Pain), and actually being able to HIT Opponents that are +4 and have a ~+25% defense bonus. Psi res isn't needed in the new HM TF, and I feel like the -res procs probably weren't doing much after purple patch. I still added a couple for shits and giggles, though.

Now, I'm still not exactly defcapped (and would still be below of the Incarnate defcap), but I plan on cycling Barrier to help with that. Now granted, if I'm using Barrier and am counting on Teammates to also do so, why build for near-defcap? So that I'm not absolutely hosed when barrier is near the end of it's uptime when it's only giving a portion of it's buff.

Also, I don't have permahasten. Close, but getting there might require build sacrifices I'm not sure I want to make. MAYBE I could swap Physical Perfection for Maneuvers (for both +def AND an extra 7.5% recharge from a 5th LotG), but I have the feeling I'll need all the endurance help and healing I can get. I'll see how well this performs as-is when I copy to Brainstrorm.

So, my question to all of you is: Is there a better way to get closer to, or achieve, Permahasten and/or higher Def numbers than what's here? I could probably use some more Negative Energy def/res also, and/or more Ranged Defense...
