These are great. I'd forgotten about these. The only thing cooler than having a space station and/or moonbase would be doing a Hollow Earth thing. Tarzan visiting Pellucidar and punching dinosaurs was one of my favorite books as a kid and it's one of the reasons why I love Ka-Zar and Turok so much. An updated version of that (minus the cringey repulsive racism of Tarzan) in City of Heroes would've been awesome. I've made several barbarian and "savage" characters because of this. These are terrific. I don’t have any WWII characters at the moment, but back on Live I had Liberty Ace, who was a Code Talker, and his grandson who took up the mantle in modern day. (The far future of 2005!) Also Major Mighty, mentor to Mighty Lad. I also had a whole thing about Miss/Ms. America being a hero designation assigned to various women during each era, so there was a 1940s version. Yeah, we’re conditioned to think of the Romans and Greeks as completely separate in… well, everything, but in reality they were pretty much two sides of the same coin. They weren’t even as distinct as North Korea and South Korea. More like NYC and Philadelphia. England and Scotland. Norway and Sweden. Maybe a bit more distinct than Colombia and the Central America countries, but probably less than Quebec and Ontario. For some reason most people, even many scholars who should know better, refuse to acknowledge that human beings have always been footloose and fancy free, and that traveling to see what was over the horizon has always been part of every culture. That’s why there are ancient Hebrew loan words in the dialects of Mongolia and China, while the Chuvash language of European Russia has loan words from both Mongolia and Finland. Our concept of what a witch looks like, seen in City of Heroes, is taken directly from the medicine women of central China. So I definitely think we can allow a little wiggle room vis a vis the Cimeroran stuff in this alternate history universe of City of Heroes, same as with Croatoa. Or Paragon City itself, really.

This is a totally original and unique design that just came to me out of the blue, as did the name. I mean, who really knows where inspiration comes from, right?

I watched the trailer for Thor: Love & Thunder and noticed that Zeus is in it. (I'm sure to only be killt-real-gud by Christain Bale's Gor the Godslayer, but still.) That implies we might see Hercules (and by extension, Amadeus Cho, who eventually becomes The Totally Awesome Hulk before transforming into Brawn). So anyway, I made Hercules Jr. on Excelsior. Rather amazed the name was available. The design on the Roman chest piece even looks like an H, so that worked out great. Back on Live I had a character named Avatari (avatar + Atari), the concept being a hard light hologram roaming the city doing the hero thing. I didn't want to repeat the name, even though I love it, but I wanted to do a new version. So here is Avatarex. Electric/Kinetics Controller. Hard to get a good screenshot of her due to the weirdness of nighttime lighting. Her skin isn't actually blue-gray. But she looks really cool in the dark.
