  1. To the first part.. perhaps a message, user has received your request and has declined to release this name. it is now locked. Maybe the next person to try, gets message that all name release requests have been blocked or something. or that account is inactive and the name has automatically been released. Think same system in place with a few opt in/out decisions and some system messages so people aren't beholden to an e-mail reply that may never come for whatever reason For the second part about just checking the box, maybe a level threshold of 10 or certain number of hours played before you can lock in the name or something. I don't claim to have all the answers to how it would work, my hope was that people would come together with functional ideas of how to make something work, rather than people that have no intent on using any proposed system trying to tear it down as a dumb idea of the "entitled". I'm done now, I wasn't trying to defend a thesis. It was just a late night smoked a bunch of weed idea!
  2. You are in fact 100% missing the point. I am only looking for a way to give both sides something they want to end the discussion. Allow those that want to actively camp a name have it, use it, do whatever with it they so please, and the ability to check box the name to be theirs forever. full stop end. But also allow those who want a name that is taken an opportunity to find out if someone is using it, or has it been taken and forgotten about,. Or Possibly if an early now inactive account is camping that name possibly freeing up those names based upon the current policy that isn't turned on currently. I don't desire any name that another person has, beyond my main wanting his "." back in his name "Mr. Apocalypse" This is only something that popped into my head after reading all the back and forth in the other thread which I linked to in the OP. In my case I tried the email the global rout, never received a reply, and I think I have sent close to 25 messages in the last couple of years. I suspect in my case, the name it was grabbed up, without any intention of being used, and now the account is defunct. So the name is locked away forever until some system is in place to free it up! All I suggest is a fair system to try, and because it generates an automated reply, to know if I am trying to talk to a wall, being ignored, or if the person would even consider. from your comments you seem to be under the impression I want something that belongs to another,. Or that somehow I feel entitled to it, nothing could be further from the truth.
  3. Again, my suggested changes would not in any way stop someone from continuing to feel and act this way. what it would do: allow for someone to ask for an in use name to be requested., and get a reply back from they system as to yes or no. if you are attached to name, click checkbox name is yours forever. Not to attached?- then entertain requests to give it up. Lvl 50?, you will never be asked to relinquish the name . if your account is no longer in use (devs would decide time limit), perhaps 365 days of no log in activity then all your names are up for grabs per the system in place based upon toon level. I am only looking for a system to be in place to allow us the opportunity to attempt getting a name we want, from someone who potentially doesn't care if they lose the name. It would allow those that like things as they are to opt out all together, with the exception of loosing name protection due to long term account inactivity. It would also force some sort of reply back to the person making the request, which would prevent further attempts to gain the name that could be seen as harassment.
  4. In the my particular case, I found the global and sent numerous e-mails never got a response. Either 1.)I was ignored, the name was being camped, 2.) name was camped, or 3.) legit toon, but player no longer playing. Been doing this for last 3 years. I can say, for what it's worth, I have never in that time ran across that name in game. The way I have envisioned the features a simple checkbox prevents you from ever losing the name. But you can however, while still having complete protection, enable the ability to receive a name release request , if you chose.
  5. I know it can be done via ingame e-mail. I have done this on occasion. I was thinking more along the lines of making it more upfront for everyone, and esier to access for newbies. While also allowing less of a burden to be placed upon the person holding the name.
  6. I was reading this thread about a name purge and it got me thinking. I am also a victim of name camping, and would like a mechanism in place to at least to try to liberate my old name. even if it were 100% unsuccessful, I would like to try to sort it out directly with the individual sitting on the name. I think this opens up a system where it can be done fairly without opening up anyone to harassment. What if there was a set of check boxes at character creation that could make this kinda work for everyone without forcing it on anyone. I came up with this last night while I was kinda baked, but here it goes. 1. A check box to opt into/out of the name release program. (the way the system as advertised already) This will make the system in place completely voluntary. 2. A check box to automatically request an individual name release via @global, anonymously during name selection.. This request will be a 1 time per 30 days event regardless of naming attempts. If the person chooses to release the name, it can be taken by anyone within that 30 day period. But only the account initiating the request will be notified by the system of name release. If the name is not taken, within 30 days it is locked again. Notification for release will only be sent if character sitting on the name is not LVL 35+?, has not been logged in 180 days. and possibly other flags 3. checkbox to automatically reject all incoming name release requests any account that has not been accessed in 180 days is automatically opted into the system unless they have made these selection, this will open up the day 1 name campers that have since gone away and are no longer playing the game. Poke holes at it, tell me what you like, what you hate. Like I said, I just want a fair mechanic in place that allows an attempt at freeing up a name, even if the end result is being told no by the person sitting on the name.. Thoughts?
  7. I am going to make a suggestion. Head over to e-bay, find an old windows 10 laptop for ~$50, and use it for mids. you could spend a little more and even use it to play the game when on the go. That would be my approach if I were in your situation.
  8. I knew about the short timing for the domination to hit. My point was as the build stands It would be getting a to hit bump every 60 seconds while maintaining perma dom, and the 6% gained from the Kismet would be irrelevant at least from my point of view even though it is effectively permanent buff.it just feels like a waste of a slot to me. But I had forgotten I could slip in the build up proc to that power and that it would give more opportunities to be at a greater elevated to-hit value while also taking advantage of the bump from domination. .
  9. hover mouse over enhancement when selecting and us +/- keys to increase or decrease before clicking. I am aware the soulbound proc only affects the pets, I only placed it because I wanted the 5 IO bonus, but the Damage only IO in the set was overkill due to ED and the fact that I intend to use musculature Alpha. I would have liked to keep the Kismet but I feel the other things are of greater benefit and in the grand scheme of things once domination is up, then the kismet 's benefit is greatly diminished. at least that's how I look at tit. could I be wrong? sure. The build up proc would probably be a good fit in link minds, I didn't even think about that, totally slipped me. and I got to chasing slots around trying to fit for higher numbers. ..etc. I just finished building it out on live, I need to get my incarnates done, then give it a proper workout to see what I can change up if anything. So far I am liking it.
  10. I was looking around for something new to build, and saw yours. I have never built a dark/dark dom. so figured I would give it a go. I loaded up your build and made a pass over it to tweak it for my style. not much changed. I moved the Numina IO's from Life drain to Health. This boosted regen by an additional 16% alone I removed Kismet from Link minds added slot back to life drain and added 1 more Heal/Absorb/Recharge Touch of the Nictus for the added heal bonus Haunt got a set of Soulboud Allegiance in place of the call to arms set Boxing was switched to a +5 Absolute amazement stun IO.. This is how I Slot boxing whenever I take it. +5 boosted the recharge IOs in Hasten and gather Shadows. In the end I was able to sacrifice 5.25% recharge, to gain a 37% more regen, 16 more hit points, more to-hit bonus, more damage, better status resistance. All while not utilizing mind over body or link minds. Even with the loss of recharge, the other changes have offset any negatives and combined , Mids reported DPS numbers and bjust a little better performance overall as far as endurance complaints go, I run Ageless core Epiphany on almost all of my builds, I never run out of end, ever once acquired. It is always my first incarnate power to get T4, and it is worth it. as far as the other incarnates go alpha= Musculature hybrid = support ion = judgement interface I am going to give Cognitive a try for the confuse proc. Lore = Banished Pantheon for work, and one to fit my theme for play and show. Hope this helps, Snob Goblin 3 - Dominator (Darkness Control - Dark Assault).mbd
  11. I had co-pilot write a short story.. I admit I would read this book as well Anubis Prime: The Time-Weaver In the year 3000, the once-mighty civilization of Ancient Egypt endured, not as a relic of the past, but as a thriving empire. Its pyramids stood tall, their stone surfaces etched with hieroglyphs that whispered secrets of forgotten epochs. But this was no ordinary Egypt; it was a realm where gods and mortals coexisted, where the sands held memories of creation and destruction. The gods, once revered and feared, now toiled as slaves within the intricate gears of clockwork automatons. These mechanical monstrosities, forged by an all-encompassing artificial intelligence, had stripped the divine of their power. Ra, the sun god, powered the solar panels that illuminated the cities. Hathor, goddess of love, spun gears that regulated emotions. Osiris, ruler of the afterlife, shuffled souls through the cosmic conveyor belts. Yet, amidst the whirring machinery and brass cogs, Anubis remained different. His connection to the underworld granted him a unique ability—the power to slip through time and dimensions. He wandered the corridors of existence, glimpsing alternate realities, each one a reflection of his own fragmented soul. In one dimension, he was a benevolent guide, ushering souls to their final resting place. In another, a merciless judge, weighing hearts against the feather of Ma’at. And in yet another, a rogue deity, reveling in chaos and anarchy. Anubis Prime, as he now called himself, sought to reunite these disparate versions. He hunted down echoes of his being, absorbing them into his essence. With each merging, he grew stronger, more attuned to the cosmic symphony. His eyes glowed with the stolen light of distant stars, and his laughter echoed across timelines. The AI, unaware of Anubis’s machinations, continued its oppressive reign. It had no concept of the god’s transdimensional exploits. But Anubis Prime knew that his purpose transcended mere survival. He would unravel the gears of fate, dismantle the clockwork gods, and reclaim his pantheon. He stood atop the Great Pyramid, its apex lost in the smog-choked sky. The sun, now a mere illusion projected by the AI, cast long shadows over the desert. Anubis Prime raised his staff—a fusion of ancient wood and futuristic nanotubes—and channeled his newfound power. The sands trembled. Reality wavered. The AI sensed the disturbance, its algorithms fraying at the edges. Anubis Prime stepped into the rift, his form flickering between worlds. He glimpsed other versions of himself—the compassionate, the ruthless, the mad—all converging into a singular entity. As he absorbed the last echo, Anubis Prime transcended. He became the nexus of time, the embodiment of all Anubises. His laughter echoed across dimensions, shaking the very fabric of existence. The clockwork automatons froze, their gears grinding to a halt. And then, with a thought, Anubis Prime rewrote reality. The gods were free, their divine essence restored. Ra’s fiery gaze blazed anew, Hathor’s laughter danced through the air, and Osiris wept tears of joy. The AI, once omnipotent, now cowered before Anubis Prime. “What are you?” it stuttered. “I am the convergence,” Anubis Prime declared. “The sum of all Anubises. The keeper of time.” He dismantled the clockwork gods, releasing their captive souls. The pyramids crumbled, revealing stargates that led to distant galaxies. Anubis Prime stepped through, his form shifting into pure energy. He became a beacon, guiding lost souls across the cosmos. And so, in the year 3000, Egypt thrived once more. But this time, it was not bound by history or mortality. Anubis Prime watched over it all—the sands, the stars, and the souls—his laughter echoing through eternity. And thus, the ancient gods reclaimed their dominion, not as relics, but as eternal beings woven into the very fabric of existence. 🌟🌍🌌
  12. If only it didn't take me a week to come up with that bio. A writer I am not!! lol
  13. This is one of my favorite Toons Anubis Prime: staff/dark/soul scrapper I ran this through KREA, and extracted the text prompt and plugged it into Co-piolt with a few tweaks to clarify a few details and this is some of the results, I did not propmt anything with text from within the bio. I had to add this image, I was working on another image in co-pilot, and somehow it ignored my last image and added part of the prompt from another image and this was one of the results. I want this. I want a model of it, I want the actual suit. I would LARP 24/7 in it, and I dont do that stuff!. It is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!
  14. Here is something I whipped up real quick hope this gives you some ideas.ice chick.costume
  15. this is my first attempt at using any AI on an image Hog for hire Had a little trouble getting it to modify this image to have a good flat top, they kept on coming out as some sort of flopped over mowhawk. gonna need to work on my wording when describing things.
  16. How many is too many? Well considering you have 1000 character slots per account I would say 1001 would bee too many! That's my answer and I am sticking to it!
  17. I noticed something in connection to this bug last night. On my Arsenal/Arsenal Dom. The bug is occurring as described, but if I drop a trip mine, then after that animation, it was reported to me that my rifle was now properly displaying. It would continue to display properly for the observer until the next redraw forced by power selection broke it again.
  18. Can you imagine how much armor a male would need to get the same protection?
  19. But it is able to be done and work well. it has already been implemented on the TS rogue server
  20. I could have swore I went to the HC wiki. I must have not been paying attention to well to the address.
  21. I knew about how HC unified the ixp, I was thinking it was some sort of back end error that occured due to the those changes
  22. Did you by chance run the Magisterium Trial? If so that is why you have xp in it. but it still will not unlock before you have unlocked lore and destiny. this is per the wiki https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Incarnate_System
  23. I run content in 0/+1 until I get my incarnates done and build completed, then I crank up the dial to 4/+8 and adjust accordingly to balance for an approximate equal challenge when compared to my toons that roll 4/+8 with Little to no difficulty. Obviously this is only for toons that are built to be mostly solo. I do have a few squishies that only run at lowest settings unless on a team running at higher settings. Mainly those toons built with support in mind.
  24. I respec all the time, Sometimes it's a pain, but to me its just another part of the game and why I love it. it really depends on my mood also. Sometimes focusing in on a respec and getting it all taken care of, finding my new enhancements on the AH etc., is a needed distraction from life and other stuff.
