  1. First instinct is to dust off the OG alt brought back from Issue 0 on Live. Poisonous Ice - Ice/Rad Controller But so many options Jaxon Flambeau - Rad/Fire Brute built for general content Jaxon Brand - Claws/Rad Scrapper Deacon Jax - Rad/Invul Brute Pull out Echo Jax again, Staff/Rad Stalker, Maybe redo this IO sets.... Probably figure out what exempts to 30 the best.
  2. I settled on naming my new SR/Claws tanker Timber Wolf. Even took Beast Run over Ninja Run. 😃

  4. Regen certainly isn't a set it and forget it set like WP. The Instant Healing of days gone by is no more. I did dust off Regen for a DB/Regen build. It does have quite a bit of investment in getting Defenses as high as possible. But with Reconstruction, Dull Pain, IH, inspirations the set is very playable. Even without hundreds of millions of inf invested. I'm not expecting a top performer solo against any content, but something that can be fun on any team.
  5. I didn't much care for how I had my Staff/Rad Stalker built, but then again I hadn't played him since last fall maybe. One of those I should have a Stalker and try out 2 sets I haven't played before. Got the idea idea to try Energy Melee again, but the cast times on the big hitters got thinking it would be to far from my wheel house. I skip Evis all the time, the only Claws power with a long recharge. Think I've settled on Ice/Shield for my second Homecoming Stalker and first on my 2nd account. Maybe he'll fit into an upcoming theme.
  6. I'll admit most of my alts tend to fall into a few categories, how does this pair with Claws?, I don't have an alt with that power set, I don't have that arch type on this account. And the costume/concept tends to be on the bland side. Unless I find something awesome to 'borrow' like the snowman costume from the Bloody Comic Con farm for Jax Frost. So I don't have a lot of strong options for 'animals/robot/random dude' type themes. But those are fun themes to keep in the mix. I just may have something in the works for Saturday..... I do much prefer the types of themes that challenge the traditional tank/healer/dps mind set MMOs can get into. My old SG was a bunch of soloers with a few that refused to solo. We rarely had a lot of members online at once so we had planned days for off shoot groups on other servers that were Defender only and Tanker only. We did run a lot of Scrapper only TFs from our main SG. As long as people keep showing up I say the themes are working. Other ideas.... All Elemental (Water/Fire/Wind/Earth) All Melee All Ranged All Summoners (Pets from Patron Pools count as long as they can be summoned on the TF/SF) No Weapons Allowed Mass Confusion (Anyone with a Confuse, Fear, or Placate type power) Collateral Damage - Bring your best AoEers Bye Week - No Theme this week, bland heroes only
  7. Indeed much fun running a non speedy LGTF for the first time in a while. Putting some thought into next week, have never had an animal themed alt. 😃
  8. My first instinct is to use my Claws/Ice Scrapper - JaxFrost but I can fill out the TF with pretty much any class except PB.
  9. All Sentinel Citadel was a blast. Didn't think I'd see someone that liked melee more than me plus had Provoke. Good times.
  10. Mr.Power Pool Attack got a fresh respec last night and is ready to punch some council in the face! He's a Sentinel by build, but a Scrapper by heart.
  11. It can be pricey but you can push your defense up to the 45% soft cap. Maybe consider a Spines/Ice Scrapper. The Scrapper Tier 9 gives good resistances for when you experience cascading Defense Debuffs. I find the armor set fun to play, with a slow aura, damage aura, Dull Pain/Heal, End Recovery ability. I like the Scrapper version more than the old Tank play style where once you get into trouble you pop Hibernate and wait it out.
  12. I've got patching at work in the AM but if we're done I reworked Lady Arrow into an Archery/Ninjitsu sentinel.

  14. With IO slotting and only 3 toggles SR doesn't seem to End heavy. Sure no End management tools directly, but that's not the point of SR. Once your global recharge is high enough to keep Practiced Brawler perma, slot it with and End Reduction. If you want Def sets on Scrapper with End management, consider Ice Armor or Energy Armor. Less DDR than SR, but other tools.
  15. Probably above the 500 Million mark for buy it now prices in the afternoons/early evening times. I tend to get Winter sets with merits from TFs. Enhancement Catalysts, I wait until I have enough drops to convert a whole set before going for Superior sets. Unless I'm sitting on spare influence burning a hole in my pocket. Also I get used to what sets are 'pricey' and hold on to/craft those recipes and store in base until I roll a new Alt. And if i'm leveling or patient I can put in more economical bids on the Auction House for items that can have a 20-30% swing in price. Often I have the inf/merits/enchantments/Catalysts before I create the alt. I don't worry about the cost, if I run out of influence I just go make more.
  16. I enjoy my Claws/Elec scrapper but I have a fair amount of investment in IOs for Smashing/Lethal and Melee Defense. With the lower max resist for scrappers I would agree you can get a lot out of Defense base sets with less investment. If you are looking for a defense option, consider Claws/Ice.   17. Not sure if it's dual wield specifically. I thought Katana applied as well. However, the game lets me create a Stone Armor tanker with either Dual Blades or Katana currently but not Claws. 😡
  18. Energize gives you a large endurance reduction for 30 seconds and with decent slotting is available every 60 seconds. Power Sink with 2 or more targets can be near full endurance bar every 30 seconds. That's hard to beat. Once I got Power Sink Endurance issues were a thing of the past.
  19. This is a fairly cheap build that gets to 45% Fire Defense. You can skip the LofG IOs until you can afford them, and the Unique IOs in Health and Stamina. For a lot of the abilities I'd take you don't get them until between 35 and 45. You also have 90% Fire Resistance without running Fire Shield. Left a lot of slots empty, you can add procs as you can afford them.   20. Fair enough. 😃 Thing recharges in 10 minutes, so it's available on the odd number missions when I run the whole arc. And every mission if bring my tanker along. Those dual box runs are about 4 minutes each with all the agro control. I'll be satisfied with the 5:30 solo times minus the pet.
  21. My Rad/Fire Brute can get very close to 5 minute runs without inspirations. Where my Lore pet despawns right around when I click the glowie to complete the mission. I might have 1 or 2 minions straggling I don't track down, but I always kill enough the Glowie shows up on the mini map. Now what's much more likely is that as my Lore pet vanishes I have to jump over to the last group that isn't moving and clear them so my times are closer to 5:30 on average. And then there are the times that 2 groups are left at the end that are not remotely close together so 6+...... I'm typically PL'ing an alt into the 20s or 30s so many many bosses to clear. If I just want some inf I'll run it solo without bosses and sub 5 minutes is the norm. Wouldn't say I can get to 4 minutes solo.

  23. Originally Stone Armor and Claws were not available on the same archetypes. Devs probably chose not to put in the work for extra animations and costume pieces when Brutes were added. *Edit* Brutes didn't get Claws until I16. Though if someone put in the time to work out Claw/Shield combo, I'd be down right away.
  24. This is the what I've been using for a second build on my Rad/Fire farmer. Doesn't exemplar to low levels very well, but has plenty of AoE for most of the content I play through.   25. Claws is far and away my favorite set in the game. I have quite a few Scrappers and Brutes running around stabbing people with hand knives. My favorite is probably my Claws/Ice Armor scrapper. it's a blast to play, not an entirely passive set like SR but not as active as regen. Damage aura, heal and max HP in Hoarfrost, a slow, Endurance management in Energy Absorption, and a Tier 9 that isn't useless even if it's situational. You can use incarnate powers to shore up defense debuff issues or add in healing/regen. Haven't reworked the build in a while, just load it up and stab things. Edit spelling....
