What are you trying to do here? How do you envision your role on a team? You've taken no shields to protect your team with and have clearly stated you care more about yourself than them - so why bother making a Corruptor to begin with? You've taken no AOEs, so you just want to stand in the back and single target damage some foes at range and maybe knock them back? If that is all you want to do and you only took FF for the +Def for yourself... then switch to a Blaster - you can get the same personal +def/survivability and then do more damage as you sit in the back picking off foes - and your team won't hate you for not giving them shields. Or, you could make a Sentinel and have your mez protection and armor and still shoot things doing good damage. Just the description of your build alone tells me you don't really want to play a Corruptor.

Blasters can built to be in melee and survive - they're called "Blappers." Blaster-turned-Scrapper. Your secondary power set helps determine whether you're suited for melee or not (look to /Fire, /Mental, /Sonic /Atomic, etc). You will also generally get melee attacks to add in with your ranged attacks and you SHOULD use your ranged attacks (even Fireball) at point blank range. Many Blasters can be built as PBAOE juggernauts. Blaster's melee powers are some of the hardest hitting powers too. AR is not a good set to use in Melee on any AT due to all the cones it has. All other Primary Blast sets are well suited - Dark a little less so due to multiple cones as well, but not ass bad as AR. Sentinels can be made to be in melee range too, but you will be locked into using only ranged powers, including your Targeted AOEs (ie "Fireball" type power) in melee range. I would suggest making a Blapper or Scrapper... or be ready to "fling fireballs" in melee range with your Sentinel.

Prestige for Super Groups Again
Frozen Burn replied to Earth Dragon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can we not end this thread yet? Prestige isn't coming back. Not in the way it was or in a new iteration. Full stop. Period. No need to argue it anymore. There is no simple "turn it back on without it affecting base stuff." It would require a hefty redesign/fix. And creating something new also takes a LOT of effort - and none of this is a priority for our small volunteer Dev team. We need more important things, like content! Which I am SO excited for in the upcoming issue. Implementing a measuring stick so certain people can compare their "prowess" is not what is needed in the game. -
If you remain at max range, it is possible to pick off mobs one-by-one without aggroing the whole mob if the other mobs are not facing or can see the one you've killed. So if Mob #1's back is to Mob#2... you can kill Mob#2 without Mob#1 noticing and aggroing. So, your stealthiness may have been suppressed as normal, but you were still far enough away and the Mob may not have witnessed or "heard" his fallen brother/sister.

It isn't frowned upon like it was back in the day. But yes, there still is a loss of XP/Inf from confused mobs fighting each other. I think there were improvements to this at one time to lessen the loss. But speed is what most people seem to care about these days. Basically, confusion powers are such a strong control mechanism mitigating all incoming damage, mobs are then easily wiped out quickly, and the loss in XP/Inf is negligible. Quickly moving onto the next mob or the end objective seems to outweigh the loss of any XP/Inf so people can get next thing/reward.

I've seen in-game chat where people have stated.... "It's a 20 year old game... copyright infringement doesn't matter any more" and they state they'll keep creating their DC/Marvel clones because the game is "old" and it doesn't matter anymore. It's time like this that it *IS* up to the community to step up and tell them "no." Tell them they will be reported, and don't be surprised when a GM comes-a-knocking' with the "Generic" hammer.

Prestige for Super Groups Again
Frozen Burn replied to Earth Dragon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
All of this right here turns your "measurement" into a currency - you earn enough and you get something. This completely is opposite of your opening statement saying it should just measure the amount of X a group earns. Once you reward for a milestone, it becomes "currency" and we're back to the problem of smaller SGs being at the disadvantage, and blah, blah, blah. Your post was going well until you stated all this. 😄 REGARDING BADGES..... Everyone should remember.... the SG badges never counted towards your total badge count - they were on a separate tab and were for primarily unlocking base items. And if you left your SG, those badges didn't go with you. And joining a new SG, you could gain or lose badges compared to your former SG depending on what the people in the new SG has accomplished. So, even if new SG badges are awarded now, and even though they might not unlock base items - they will still be tied to your SG - NOT YOU. If you leave the SG, you would lose those badges even though you helped earn them. So... the only point to having them would be as what I think the OP wants, and that is to have a tracker for accomplishing certain things as a group. I am fine with that. -
This thread should be titled "Mad Sellers" instead of "Crafters".... I craft a TON, but give them to the SG, alts, and yes, sell some. So, while my "selling" stats on the City Terminals are low comparatively, my actual crafting stats would be far higher.

Thanks for catching this here in this thread. While I didn't create the map you are referencing, I did create new maps and posted them on another thread in the Badges section where someone else had inquired. I have these two locations on the map too. 🙂 But this is great to cross-reference here. All can see below for the updated maps.... Let me know if you find any more spawn points!

Prestige for Super Groups Again
Frozen Burn replied to Earth Dragon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
What little good was with the Prestige system is completely outweighed by all the bad. There is NO WAY to turn on earning Prestige without bringing back the bad. Small, solo, and casual SGs will always be at a disadvantage. As @Rudra has stated, Prestige is a currency. What do we spend it on? If stuff (not talking base items as that is NOT in OP's plan), then again, Larger SGs have all the advantage and smaller ones have none. And if prestige is spent on nothing, then why have it? Just for ranking and boasting you're the top SG earning Prestige? What does that actually do then? Nothing, except give a few people some arrogance while everyone else secretly hates them. Again... MORE bad comes from Prestige than good. IF you want goals for SGs to achieve and earn badges - then how about "Complete X while in SG mode"? No Prestige... just badges with requirements of the player being in SG mode - and they would have to be requirements that even Small/Solo SGs could earn as well, maybe slower, but possible. This type of reward is fine... but turning on the Prestige currency system - absolutely not. -
Prestige for Super Groups Again
Frozen Burn replied to Earth Dragon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I get the reasoning behind this request. I love more badges and would want more perks for my bases as well. But No.... just, no. The Prestige system was always bad, flawed, and terrible. I hated having to cut off my 50% of my Inf earnings just to get Prestige. I understand the reasoning behind it - you gotta give to get. But I'm not a farmer; I don't make masses of Inf like many do; I play and spend as it comes in to feed my alts. I can't afford the 50% cut to my earnings. I couldn't afford it back then, and still can't afford it now. SGs also would only recruit those who would earn for them so they could spout they were #1. I hated dealing with this and hearing how people were treated poorly in an SG and they left because of Prestige-crazed leaders. I left some myself. On the whole, Prestige only brings competition and division instead unity. Practically, right now in the present.... There are TONS of solo SGs out there that this would immediately put them at a disadvantage to those who are in a social SG. With this request, the OP wants to give the big SGs all the advantages and make it hard/impossible for all the little groups/solo players. My solo SG that would LOVE patrolling LB or Arach in my base but have to kill 100k of the faction?? Will never happen. Even my social SG with players that I've played with since 2004 - they come in and out of game as life takes hold.... we'll never get those perks either. So.... no. Absolutely, no. -
Yes, AR has the most AOEs of the two sets. But BR has some decent AOEs as well - a cone, a targeted AOE, and the Nuke. Plus, you get disintegration which can spread and add DoT to others as a "mini" AOE effect. And /Devices is fine as a hover blaster. On teams, you'll mostly be using gun drones anyway. and it's less likely you'll be using trip mines. With the new patch, you may want to get in close to place your detonation bomb. But still, /Devices is totally doable as a hover blaster. One of my fav blasters is Archery/Devices who hovers almost exclusively, except when setting up ambushes with the mines and caltrops.

Macro for teleporting to base from anywhere
Frozen Burn replied to danica.bird's topic in Base Construction
Changes were made with travel across the board a while ago when they added in the Long Range Teleport power. The old free port to your base with a macro was a bug exploit as stated above, and was done away with. HOWEVER, you can still use that macro ANYWHERE even though you are not near a zone base portal. Just click your LRT power first, then click your macro, and then you'll port into your base from anywhere - including from inside a mission. Your LRT power will then go on a 9 minute cooldown. Happy porting! -
Story content, TFs/SFs/Trials. Blue, Red, and Gold. I generally avoid the DFB, but may run through it once with no XP boosts, and then go into Kings Row or Hollows story content. I also typically avoid radio mishes. I'd like to avoid paper mishes Red-side, but you have to do some just to get introduced to contacts. For me, the game is about the journey and all the stories and arcs that shape my character's life or enhance their backstory.

I thought that too when I read it! 🤣

I have a Katana/Dark Scrapper that is one of my absolute favs. As a tank, you'd get bigger AOEs and of course Gauntlet which would mean less running and chasing down foes. But there is no reason Katana shouldn't be for a tank as well. Dark Armor is strong for any AT and don't let the lower overall Def worry you. You have the potential for capped resists and one of the strongest self heals (if not THE strongest) in the game with Dark Regeneration. With Endurance management solved and enough recharge - you are a beast. Continue enjoying!
-
Oh! Okay then... Thanks for clarifying. I've only run that arc that one time over a year ago (when the badge name was "Womp Womp"). Couldn't remember the contact and thought Doc Buzzsaw was an arc that happened later. lol 🙂

Very unique bug - Quantum Gunners fail to spawn as neutral
Frozen Burn replied to BlakeTheDrake's topic in Bug Reports
I don't see this as a bug at all. Quantum gunners wouldn't be neutral EVER if a Kheldian is around. They are specifically hunting and stalking them. To me, this is perfect and matches lore/story-wise. -
I don't know anything about them being in the Aeon SF - I do not recall seeing any in either of them, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. You may have to up your settings (ie team size) to get them to spawn. I know for certain, you can get them in Doc Buzzsaw's villain arc: The Freakish Lab of Dr. Vahzilok (Lvl 30-39). Easiest way to get the badge using this arc.... Before entering the mission "Steal from Crey" (towards the end), if you are solo - set your team size to -1x8, turn "Solo AV" to "No" (solo bosses up to you). (Again, this is easiest - you can make it as difficult as you want, but be sure to set to x8 to spawn as many of the things as possible.) In last last room of mission, you fight Hopkins (AV/EB depending on settings), and have to click 3 glowies. He'll spawn ambushes of 7th Gen PPs (these do NOT count towards the badge, but do count towards normal PP badge). Towards end of Hopkins' life (and afterwards), the Immature PPs will ambush you. At x8, you'll get 55 of them (need 100 for badge). At x1, you only get 35. DO NOT click last glowie.... just log off to reset mission, and repeat at x8.... you'll get your remaining Immature PPs for the badge and then you can click all glowies and finish the arc (this will save you from having to run the arc multiple times like I did).

I've been using CavitAI. It's the only only one I've found so far that is truly free and not very restrictive. I'll check out Leaonardo.

Add a Bit of Wiggle Room to 'On the Ground' Powers
Frozen Burn replied to TheZag's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hmm... missed this thread this past summer. Glad it was brought back up. I too would like to see some wiggle room added for ground-based powers. Well... at least what i really want is Titan Weapon T9 power, Arc of Destruction to NOT be ground-based - there really is no reason it should be, but I'm guessing it's that way due to animation. So, it could at minimum have the Foot Stomp leeway of being able to hover over the ground... that would be wonderful. I have a small (not mini) fairy character that carries a Titan Weapon sword and is always flying/hovering a chest height of normal mobs when fighting. I can't use my T9 power at all unless I have to turn off flight and drop to the ground. I think that's excessive for swinging a weapon in a down ward arc. I'm already swinging this giant thing around in every other which way - why is this one ground-based?? Anyway, I would settle for hitting the X button to sink lower a few feet if I had to. Just please please please... either lift the restriction completely for the power, or give it Foot Stomp's hovering leeway. -
Here's another one of my fav toons... Energy/Martial Combat Blaster... Victorious Star. She has 10 different costumes, but attempted to recreate the 3 main ones using various styles.... This one turned out more like "Stargirl" than I would like, but still cool.

I am part of a social SG. While I do have a Transit hub base that I made for my SG, I do not use it for storage - only the toon that created the base is in that SG (my Sentinel, that I hate - that's right, I'm gonna say it... the only thing my Sentinal is good for is creating a base. 🤣). Yes, I could put my toons in the solo base and swap there, but no.... So, for anyone else that wants to remain in a Social SG without doing the solo-base things.... here is what I do.... Our social SG has tables for mainly generic IOs across all the levels to share amongst others (place to use up crafted ones from seeking badges, or after respec'ing, etc). We have salvage racks that have white and yellow salvage for those times you're crafting in the base and you run out of an item and don't want to zone out just to access the AH. (And shared insp storage too.) So... for my personal storage: Salvage: I only save orange salvage and 2 each of any yellow i get, all in my vault. All other salvage gets sold. And i buy what I need, which is generally the cheap stuff. Event salvage stays on the character that earned it (or sold). Only event salvage that needs to be shared (for my needs) are the Halloween pieces for unlocking the extra costume slot. Enhancements: Any enhs i want to keep for future use on alts - I store in my AHs or Email. You get 195-200 slots of free space to just hold things in AH. You also get a lot of room in your email (i do not know how much). I also will keep some in my enh trays - you can hold up to 70, but I try to keep the max at 50 for the toons I use for storage. Frozen Burn holds Resists, PVP, purple, Event IOs, and other specialty IOs in the AH, and in his trays. He is also the main crafter and seller of all crafted IOs across all toons. Toon 2 holds Def/Range IOs stored in the AH and trays Toon 3 holds Heal IOs Toon 4 Holds Endmod IOs I keep some of the specialty IOs in my email for quick access when leveling up - like LotG global rech; Numi/panacea/miracle/regen tissue/prev med procs, celerity stealths, perf shift procs, Unbreak Guard +Max HP, KB prot IOs, etc, etc, etc. Catalysts and Boosters - since my main feeds my alts, all the Inf my alts earn can be saved for buying and storing Catalysts and Boosters as needed (or funding more alts). I keep a list of which toons have which so when I need them, I know where to go. I do keep a few Catalysts in my email for easy attuning of some IOs for leveling up. Transferring: my SG also has an Enh table that remains completely empty at all times so that people can use it specifically for transferring IOs from one character to their alt. If it's a large amount I'm transferring, I'll use that. If it's a small amount, I'll just email myself. If I need a large quantity of Catalysts or Boosters, I will use my alt account for trading. Otherwise, I just email them to myself.

Damn you! Damn you all for introducing me to this! I've wasted my entire weekend playing around in an AI Image generator! 😄 Here's another I tried to recreate.... Titan Weapon/WP Brute: Peace'blossom. (A hero take on the actual fairy name "Peaseblossom.") She's a tiny tiny fairy with a giant Titan Weapon sword. (So hilarious to play.) Unfortunately, the AI generator doesn't know what a Titan weapon is. Massive, gigantic, sword that is larger than she is - every description I could think of would not work. I settled on "holding a massive and gigantic sword," and tried to find different base models to help support it. It also didn't seem to know what fairy dust is. lol These are some that came up....
