Homecoming Server Update (June 26th): Donation Window Poll
Jimmy replied to Cipher's topic in Announcements
The average donation last time was just over $20. Even if we did cap it at $10, I doubt it would even be open for two hours. The rate tends to increase over time as word of mouth spreads. I really do understand that it is frustrating, and hopefully in the future we can figure out a neater solution. Right now we're trying to keep it as simple as possible so we can focus our efforts towards more important tasks. -

The first Saturday in July is the 6th. I assume that's what you mean? Yes. Fixed :D -
Yay!

@Powerhouse: I think the +ToHit scaling needs to apply to both slow and fast snipes, couple of reasons: [*]Adds more choice as to when to use Aim / BU / etc (currently you're somewhat shoehorned into saving them to get the additional bonus damage on in-combat snipes) [*]Two different scaling mechanics for the fast & slow snipes will cause confusion & wasted buffs (this is a classic 'noob trap') [*]Allows /devices to retain its unique benefit for slow snipes From a purely subjective standpoint: Hitting Aim and Build Up into a slow snipe and hitting like an absolute freight train to open a fight is just plain fun and that fantasy needs to be embraced.

economy How to Make Millions on the Market in Minutes
Jimmy replied to Robotech_Master's topic in Guides
Just my personal opinion, not the official stance of the team: I think it's unlikely we'll make any changes to the way this works. It's all designed to keep prices down for everyone whilst also allowing drops at any level to have some value. -

rip Natural Origin. -
These should now auto-unlock if you restart.

An alternative I'd suggest: A flat damage boost for snipes that scales on +ToHit. That allows sets which currently benefit from frequent or permanent fast-snipe (Looking at you, Devices) to keep their edge without needing to introduce RNG.

UPDATE: Cheating Made Easy Use this fantastic popmenu from NobleKangaroo which removes the need for you to type any commands in manually! XP & Influence /levelup_xp 50 /influence_add 2000000000 Hamidon Enhancements & Standard IOs /boost ENHANCEMENT_NAME ENHANCEMENT_NAME LEVEL eg: /boost Hamidon_Damage_Range Hamidon_Damage_Range 50 Invention Sets /boostset SET_NAME LEVEL All of the set names are exactly as you expect. This works for standard Enhancements and ATOs. Here are some examples: /boostset Overpowering_Presence 50 /boostset Superor_Will_of_the_Controller 50 /boostset Luck_of_the_Gambler 50 And so on. If you can't figure out the name of a set please post in this thread and I'll find it for you!

Just to add to that: Most of the Homecoming team (including myself and Cipher) did not play on the original SCORE server.

Some additional context on the changes to Death From Below and the Rikti Mothership Raid Both of these are to further the goals set out in the open letter we published. The intention is to ensure all content is roughly similar when it comes to a time/effort to reward ratio, so players are free to pick and choose which content they want to engage in. The Rikti Mothership Raid, as you could probably tell, was an obscenely efficient method of farming Reward Merits. Even an average raid was around five times more efficient than most other content, but a well-run raid could be significantly more. This created a situation where the RMS was the only activity to do if you wanted to get high-end rewards. This is obviously contrary to our goal of enabling players to run a variety of content without feeling forced into specific tasks for the best rewards. We took this opportunity to make some other changes as well to hopefully make the raid a bit more interesting and ensure all players are encouraged to fully participate. Both the Pylons and The Great Meta... er, the Rikti Dropship now grant merits upon being destroyed. As for DFB: This was a different kettle of fish. Because this was far more accessible to anyone that wanted to participate, and it did have one key benefit (allowing you to 'skip' the first 10~ levels that you've played a hundred times), we wanted to be careful with how we approached it. As described above the XP rate starts dropping down after level 10, and drops down to be more in line with other content as you approach level 20. This means you can still do 1-2 runs to get yourself to level 10-15, but after that DFB is no longer the most efficient thing to do. Here's a graph detailing how the XP drops off: And here are the exact figures: Level <=10: 100% Level 11: 98% Level 12: 96% Level 13: 93% Level 14: 90% Level 15: 86% Level 16: 81% Level 17: 76% Level 18: 69% Level 19: 60% Level >= 20: 50%

Homecoming Server Update (May 29th): User Agreement & Policy Updates
Jimmy replied to Jimmy's topic in Announcements
Not legal =! illegal. We're in more of a grey area. But, putting that to one side, just because we're in a legally grey area from a hosting standpoint, that doesn't mean we should be going around breaking other laws :) -
Hello everyone, This is a really boring topic, but unfortunately one we must cover now that we’re close to having 100,000 players (crazy, I know!). With the patch that’s being released tomorrow we are implementing a User Agreement into the game. This is a very basic legal document that you must agree to in order to play on the Homecoming servers. The full text of the User Agreement can be found here. Compared to normal User Agreements for other MMOs ours is very basic and only covers three key topics: [*]Compliance with COPPA [*]Data protection (GDPR, etc) [*]Basic indemnity COPPA, as many of you are aware, is a law in the United States protecting minors from the evils of the internet. Please read this page for more information on COPPA. The basics are that we cannot allow anyone under the age of 13 to play the game without us violating COPPA, so you must agree that you are at least 13 in order to log in. GDPR and various other data protection laws require that we disclose how we store and process your information, and that it’s done in a safe and secure way. You can read up on GDPR here. As part of our compliance with this we are also required to publish a Privacy Policy, which can be found here. The final thing the User Agreement covers is a basic level of indemnity. This essentially requires you to agree to not hold Homecoming responsible for anything relating to you playing on our servers. And that’s basically it. As part of this policy update we’ve also refreshed our Code of Conduct, so please give that another read. If you have any questions relating to the User Agreement, Privacy Policy or Code of Conduct please post them in this thread. - The Homecoming Team

The Future - An Open Letter from the Homecoming Team

We are Borg. But, more seriously, we're just a group of fans who want the game back. We are a co-operative, don't really have a leader, and are happy to remain (mostly) behind the scenes right now. We want our work to speak for itself and to just enjoy the game along with everyone else.
