  1. #2 there is where adaptive recharge really shines for me. It had me using powers that I would *never* "waste" on a single target,
  2. Mostly just a thematic "I can heal through any illness or disability" thing, I think.
  3. Speaking for myself, I never took Cloak of Fear because it didn't feel worth the end cost. The new version is absolutely getting added to all my DA characters.
  4. The majority of my testing was on a Scrapper and DP was fine (by far the most clicked power in the set). It has adaptive recharge; my aim did not have to be anywhere near perfect to keep full stacks of +regen/+rec.
  5. IIRC Vines now spawn over time instead of all at once, but don't hold me to that as it's been ages since I tested Plant Control.
  6. "Containment" is the name of the Controller inherent power. Thus all Controllers can inherently control their big pets. Singularity is listed in the post you quoted.
  7. Spirit Tree as an opener has worked really well for me in testing, yeah. Followed quickly by layering other controls.
  8. Note for folks testing: Aura of Insanity might seem underpowered unless you're really building for the mez effects with slot investment and incarnate picks - or at least that was my experience. If you choose to make it a centerpiece of the set, it's actually pretty impressive.
  9. From the perspective of someone who was a pre-Jack's vendetta Regen enjoyer (ie *original* true toggle Instant Healing), this is the best Regen has ever felt.
  10. The power is basically original Dull Pain + Revive functionality in one. Additionally, if the "Dull Pain" buff effect is still on you when you are defeated, you get a popup offering you the chance to rez, even when the power is on cooldown.
  11. I'm pretty sure I took that screenshot before Catherine Wheel got a slight graphical improvement, but it definitely gets across how sparkly this set is. 🙂 Really fun set, and Blast Off is...well...a blast.
  12. If you read fully you'll note that the trial now selects monsters based on what is most needed by the characters participating.
  13. The note is phrased badly. Someone will be along to explain it, but in short the minimum levels aren't changing. What it means is that if you go in with everyone at the minimum level, the enemies will spawn at that level, not the maximum level of the TF. (Except for LRSF and MLTF, which will always spawn enemies at L50)
  14. "This comic book superhero game is too much like a superhero comic book!" Also, didn't you make a big drama queen announcement about how you were quitting once or twice already?
  15. IIRC Penelope Mayhem becomes a particularly big hammer in the player-villain's potential toolbox.
  16. Willpower and Force of Will are different things. Sorcery and Willpower work just fine together.
  17. Every time someone raises a fuss over "OMG Thing changed!" I have to wonder if they *really* think that if Paragon had kept developing this game for all these years, they wouldn't have modernized it as the gaming ecosystem evolved. And probably been a LOT less nice about giving options to keep doing things the old way. It certainly wasn't the same at shutdown as it was in 2004. This isn't a relic preserved in amber like a museum piece. It's a living game.
  18. Periodic reminder that "ninjitsu" is still a misspelling of "ninjutsu."
  19. I'll ask the same thing I always ask when people come up with these categorizations: what can I *do* with this? A theory is useless without applications. How can I use your system to improve my gaming experience and the experiences of those around me? Right now it reads as "Here is this profound thing!" but...so what? What do you plan to do with this model? What does it change or add?
  20. This would be a nonissue if people didn't react to the suggestion "if it's too hard/slow/whatever, turn your difficulty down" as if you'd suggested they eat their firstborn child.
  21. On my first day I was exploring Galaxy City with my little level 2 fresh-out-of-Outbreak experimental character, doing a decent job of avoiding Hellions and Clockwork, and happened to discover Gemini Park. I was like "oh, that looks cool!" and ran in to explore, somehow completely failing to notice the small crowd of zombies milling about. Pretty sure I was in the midst of trying to escape when one exploded and sent me to the hospital. My situational awareness is, theoretically, much better these days, even if my manual reflexes are definitely not.
  22. Yeah, there's a fairly visible line between "we want more people to engage with Giant Monsters" and "we want people to mindlessly farm the lowest-effort Giant Monsters."
  23. Back in the day, I mostly equated Warden = Hero Responsibility = Vigilante Power = Rogue Crusader = Villain It's not an exact match and wasn't intended to be, of course.
