  1. I'm looking forward to it. I'm playing a thaumaterge so it's been nice to have some simple questing to get used to the skills. Fire Fire Fire Fire Transpose Lightning/addle Transpose Fire Fire Fire Etc...
  2. I'm level.... 13 or something and I'm really having a good time.
  3. Eviscerate should share the animation of Sweeping Strike. Fast and brutal. DB is just Claws but better. Anyway Shockwave is good. I like to throw KB2KD in it so I can keep enemies inside my Spin/Death Shroud/Epic AOE party. On a farming Brute I'd say it's invaluable, and you can probably skip the KB2KD with that much density it doesn't matter.
  4. My opinions might not be healthy because I don't reeeeaaallly give a shit about trying to maintain some sorely outdated notion of balance in this game anymore (I just want weak stuff buffed up and useless abilities made useful and un-fun powers made more fun). That said, I think you could remove the aggro cap completely on this server and it would barely change the way people play this game. Anyone who thinks tanks would be herding maps again to PL has never stepped foot in an AE farm. First off the target caps would still be a limiting factor and secondly the setup speed and convenience of running 125 is just so far and away better than any other possible form of farming. Now if you told me it would severely damage server performance then I'm okay with leaving it as is.
  5. I've got two characters with significant money. My Rad/Fire who is capped and passes off all profits to my DB/DA scrapper who spends it all (dang kids). But I put that scrapper to work a couple days ago now that his build is complete and now I have about 600m on him. That's really it. I'm still a baby capitalist compared to most of you. I only really started doing this at the beginning of June I think.
  6. I don't have a build on hand but you might try maximizing S/L resists, S/L/M defense, and recharge. Don't forgot to slot KB protection. Sets to look out for: Kinetic Combat in ST attacks for S/L Def. Unbreakable Guard 4 slot in resist powers for S/L defense and use the proc. LotG 5 slot for S/L resist. Shield Wall +5% Res to all. Reactive Defense scaling damage resist. Of course take tough and weave. Superior ATOs for everything good, including defense I believe. Steadfast 3% def. Gladiators 3% def. Obliteration has S/L defense I think. You want to target recharge too so you can keep Healing Flames firing off. Hope that helps.
  7. Listing LotG at 6.5 and getting a pretty quick sale at 7 mil used to be a safe bet until SOMEONE around here decided to poop in the corn flakes.
  8. Yeah I mean ultimately it's a suggestion that would be beneficial in edge cases but the point about respecs generating over 90 enhancements does give it practical value and I can't imagine it would be a huge hurdle to put in the game. I remember well the 10 slot limit we used to have and I struggle to find a practical reason to limit it to 70 for same reason one might struggle to limit it to 10. It's a relic of a first or second "gen" MMO grind for the sake of grind, "limit things to increase the grind" mindset that people had back then when these games were being made. It's a very outdated mindset. It would jack up the potential size of character databases so that's something practical I guess but I have no idea if the DBs are that limited.
  9. I'm a designer in real life so when I see things like a lack of a "claim all" button or a tiny window that can't be expanded it bugs me at my core. It's not so much about complaining that it's not easier, more just complaining about annoying design. I do realize that it was never designed with the intent that players would be buying 100 of these things as once.
  10. 70 seems a little arbitrary, and it's fairly annoying in the sense that we can hold 80 recipes but can only craft 70 assuming we have an empty tray. Or we can just add 3 more tabs and increase recipe storage to 100. Seems like a small change that will just add a little QOL.
  11. Crashy T9s are a relic of the past and have been since Issue 9 which was like 300 years ago. Certain aspects of this game have needed a serious overhaul ever since the Invention System was introduced but it never happened because half the community and a lot of the OG devs couldn't stop clutching their pearls over balancing the game around SOs.
  12. My biggest gripe with BS is the animations are a little basic but performance is good!
  13. I didn't time myself per say but I can say that I definitely agree that the conclusions they came to regarding the four questions posed are still true in my experience.
  14. Do you fish for good IOs or just toss everything up? I am leaning towards just throwing anything that goes for over a mill I'll just blindly list for 800k. If it goes for 2 mill I'll list for like 1.2. If I get lucky and roll into a miracle, or a defense set, I'll fish a little for a good IO, but the vast majority of my listings I go for quick volume VS trying to be an IO sniper.
  15. I would say it takes me about an hour to open all the packs and then go into my character items and claim everything from there. I recently found a macro that will apparently open all my packs at once so I'm looking to try that out. Now when it comes to the interface, there are some inherent weaknesses that make this process way more tedious that it needs to be: The character item menu cannot be expanded so you're stuck dealing with a very narrow window to work in. This becomes annoying when you start building up stacks of items that you don't want to claim right away, like temp powers and the seemingly infinite variety of team and dual inspirations. Items like converters and unslotters will stack as a single item on the list, but you can only claim them one at a time. So if you get like 150 converters you have to click 150 times. Reward merits are claimed 25 at a time but you end up with like 800 of them so it's a faster process than other items but still tedious. You'll end up with more ATOs than you can hold so at some point you have to either start throwing them up on the AH or jump into your base and stick them in storage. So at this point after about an hour of claiming there are a couple of variables that determine the income to be made and time you're about to spend. You could stick every ATO on the market for sell it soon pricing (around 6m each last time I did it) OR you could take your catalysts and your level 50 toons and start making as many superiors as possible with the characters you have available to catalyst with. I've done it both ways, selling Blaster and Brute superiors and everything else as standard. It does take longer but you will make a lot more influence this way. I've done the process 3 times now and the first two times I didn't really bother to make superiors. In order to turn a profit I sold every single item I got, including the thousands of converters (which are the secret sauce of profit from this, really) and I ended up with somewhere around 150m profit after earning back the 1 billion investment, maybe a bit more and that included giving my scrapper ATOs to my scrapper to use, not to sell. I may have documented it on page 1 of this thread. The last time I did it I made superior ATOs for the Brute and Blaster ATOs and made around 250m profit -without- selling the converters! So it's definitely worth it to make superiors. As for inf/hour I don't think it's better than converting. On Monday I put in a bid for like 400 recipes and spent about an hour or two yesterday converting (using those 3000 converters that I didn't sell from the super packs) and made well over 400m influence. So it terms of inf/hour it probably sucks and inf/real-time it super sucks because it can take a couple days to sell through all those ATOs (I resorted to converting the slow sellers to brute/blaster ATOs, sorry Kheldians). Going forward I'll probably do this: 100 super packs and make superiors. Sell all and keep converters. Use converters for flipping. Repeat. I don't think that's the most efficient way to do everything but for me it's more about just doing something different, because flipping does get boring.
  16. I'm gonna post my own build check here now that I've finished this build on live and played with it some. I can confirm that it's an absolute monster. My biggest problem is runners. No one wants to stand and fight an unkillable stab machine. I had a "cheap" build that I slapped together using sets like Crushing Impact and Obliteration and Aegis just to play with while I saved up for the expensive build and while that was good, this is just on a completely different level now. Some thoughts: If you put a gun to my head I might remove the chance for build up and put that slot to work somewhere else, maybe 2 slot hasten and +5 it. Critical Strikes procs like crazy in Sweeping Strike. SS>Ball Lightning>Typhoons is a big opening salvo. Sweeping Strike recharges really fast. I can almost have an attack chain of SS>Typhoons>Repeat. This is one of the strongest and most fun Scrapper builds I've played. Cardiac makes the world go round. I went with degenerative over reactive and Assault over Melee in-game. I felt like the HP debuff would be more useful than the -res since hard, high HP targets are the only thing that's gonna last more than a few seconds against me anyway. For Hybrid, I just don't need the mitigation from Melee so I went for Assault to deal more damage.
  17. In the AH interface I had searched for the Symbol invention salvage and put in my bid (1,234 for 10) and scrolled down a little bit just by chance and noticed that my entered text is clipping through the UI: I then realized this will happen with anything:
  18. From what I've heard, and I'm sure @Safehouse can elaborate on, the story and game itself starts to play more like a traditional FF game with a great, deep plot and tons of cool memorable characters once you start digging into the Heavensward content so I'm looking forward to that.
  19. Yeah thematically it's not a perfect solution but as a game mechanic it's a fairly common thing. I dunno, literally a top of the head thing. Here's another one. Give granite an effect on collision with baddies. Deal some damage and small mag Knockback. Minor damage and knockdown at base movement speed, with increasing damage and knockback the faster you go. So let's say you're speed boosted for max run speed, slotted swift, etc, you just ping pong around the map blasting fools and sending them flying. I don't know how useful that would be but it would instantly be the best powerset ever.
  20. Right off the top of my head I would suggest removing the movement penalties and adding a damage reflect mechanic to Granite Armor since it's mitigation isn't that special anymore and the movement penalties are draconian and kinda stupid in light of what this game is in 2020. On the other hand, it should hurt to punch a slab of rock (or bullets ricochet back, what have you). I'm not saying this would solve any of Granite's issues but it seems like simply throwing it a bone of letting it jump over chipmunks is far from making it a decent set compared to many others with all their whizz bang IO builds. New game! The first person to say "well ahcsually the gaem is balanced around SOs" gets a slap!
  21. Some scrapper secondaries have taunt auras where the abilities are dependent on having nearby enemies to be effective. /DA technically has 3 abilities that require enemies to be close by for mitigation. Cloak of Fear, Opressive Gloom, and Dark Regeneration. I'm not saying let's make it a stronger taunt effect than tanks but runners can be a big problem for DA. I admit this is a totally selfish suggestion born from my laziness to chase bad guys and it might be a bit of a stretch to compare /DA to something like Willpower but here I am.
  22. Replying directly to the OP, I don't know about overpowered but DB/Dark/Mu is very strong. I'm just about done building out mine and it's practically unstoppable with capped S/L resistance and high resistance to almost everything else and softcspped S/L/M defense. It's powerful, fun, and a great "take anywhere" kind of build. I have a thread on here somewhere with my build in it if you're interested.
  23. Definitely getting needed again, too.
  24. Thanks yeah I took pause before doing this and did another H/V packs. The Winter IOs just don't go for as high as they would to make a profit, especially if RNG hates me. Instead I took another path and ended up pushing my Blaster to 50 so I could use Catalysts on the blaster IOs and the Brute IOs now. Working on doing the same with a corr. My turn-around has already been a lot higher with doing that just for the blaster and brute ATOs.
  25. Well, anyway, that big "smooth everything out" patch dropped recently and I made a new account to take advantage of the unlimited free trial. I previously played the game up to about level 8 during a free month back when I bought my CPU and while I haven't scratched the surface of this thing yet, there are two things that stand absolutely head and shoulders above any MMO I've ever played. First, the UI. It's so ridiculously clean and easy to use. It's intuitive in every possible way, with tons of customization and scalability. Nothing really comes close. Second, the music is incredible. Just the walking around music is a joy to listen to and I feel like using my Sennheiser headphones is not a waste for this great OST. I'll admit I've been a Final Fantasy fan for.... 22-23 years so of course there are nostalgia hits peppered in all around, but overall I'm really looking forward to keeping up with the game, especially when CoH gets boring between updates.
