I love them both personally, but, I love shield/ss more even if it's not as consistently as good a performer. 2Xrage + aao + shield charge makes me smile. Procced out footstomp is really good as well. Both these attacks hit in a HUGE area. Procced out dominate + KO bloc can stack a large hold mag. Fire may technically be better, but for me SS is more fun.

shield/ma Incarnate capped def to all three positions, great resists, near capped DDR, and even terrorize protection. Yes you'll probably need to get your end from incarnate or a temp power, but it's pretty cheap at the P2W vendor.

Well, for my main "NinjaSquirrel" (DP/ninja blaster), it'd have to be Hamster Dance.

I would argue that going from 65% to 68% res is better than you think. At 65% you're taking 35 points of damage, at 68% you're taking 32 or a drop of almost 10% (91.4%). This effect is more profound for tanks as they can get closer to 100% resistance, but it's still very helpful for squishier ATs. Going from 0 defense to 3.75 is still useful however. 100 damage minus 50 (chance to hit) vs 100 minus 46.25 yields a difference of (42.5 / 50) 92.5%, so a drop of 7.5%. Best would be to get both together. (32 damage * 92.5% -> 29.6) (edit: numbers were wrong dammit)

Mr Eternia: Need Help with basic slotting for Shield Defense ??
NinjaSquirrel replied to smnolimits41's topic in Tanker
This is my current main. Lot's of recharge and lots of procs. Soul Drain -> shield charge -> shadow maul. Siphon life might not be as optimal as gloom but really helps to keep the HP up during the tough spots. Owts for especially rough spots, nearly maxes HP. Ageless radial for the debuff resistance. Dark consumption and conserve power to handle what ageless radial can't. Oh, single target.. Smite, siphon life, smite, midnight grasp, repeat https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1490&c=710&a=1420&f=HEX&dc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
Really really appreciate all the work that went into this release! Only thing I will miss (just a bit) will be the sound of a fully saturated soul drain going off. No character has made me feel more powerful than my incarnated, IO'd out shield/dark tank. NS

When You Want to Run Solo, What Scrapper Do You Take?
NinjaSquirrel replied to 00Troy00's topic in Scrapper
Elec/shield is damned good on a scrapper. I butcher 4/8 cimmies with zero issues. BU + shield charge + lightning rod and all that's left is bosses and half-dead lieutenants. I will admit that the elec snipe is an integral part of my attack chain however. -
CTRL+TAB, F (follow), and a little hop if they're running away and you're right on top of them. Especially if you're running combat jumping.

Play a scrapper? Run in, kill things. SR and shield scrappers are pretty tough as long as you don't skimp on defenses. And if you do die, well, you're just a scrapper. No one is counting on you to keep them alive.

What is the most fun tank combo you have played and why?
NinjaSquirrel replied to Infinitum's topic in Tanker
I have a lot of Tanks but my current fav is shield/MA. Kick all the faces! +10 def all from MA, nice def debuff resistance, good resistances, sizeable +dam in big mobs, the MA aoe does decent damage and activates/ recharges quickly, and you get a -def power to throw a -res proc in. Makes short work of cimmerorians at +4/X8 solo. There's a lot to like. -
I've been having a lot of fun with my shield/ss tank. I can't imagine that it would be much less of a powerhouse on a brute. Rage + shield charge -> footstomp does crazy damage even on a tank.
-
It seems that elude for tanks does not accept end-mod sets while elude for scrappers does. Is this on purpose?

Question about Malta detoggling Rise to the Challenge
NinjaSquirrel replied to PeregrineFalcon's topic in Tanker
I believe that the Zeus's have an attack which causes you to stand there retching. It seems to auto-hit my SR tank and holds me for about 5 seconds or so. -
What I play but never see another of...
NinjaSquirrel replied to Jaguaratron's topic in General Discussion
I am loving my TW/SR brute (and scrapper & tank). Don't know why I have never met another. Mebbe because I solo too much =) -
Tell us. What's your favorite Scrapper combo?
NinjaSquirrel replied to Crowcus Pocus's topic in Scrapper
Current fav is fire/sd. Mostly a concept character, corrupted paladin, returned to earth, fights using hellfire. Good damage/defense and uses a less resisted damage type. -
I have a baby SD/PSI which I'm soloing up right now. Things are a little tough but am only one level away from SOs. It's sort of an RP character, but she is clearing solo missions pretty painlessly. Am looking forward to what she can to post-incarnate.
