  2. I popped out of a mish door in the RWZ, and the white circle with the ziggy-zaggy explosion star around it popped up on my map. Clicked on it, followed my nav ring, and it took me right to the contact. This character has not previously done the Doc's arc and does not have the Patient Zero badge.
  3. For visibility, you should probably post this in the beta bugs subforum or the arsenal control threads in the focused feedback forum.
  4. Were the full teams with proper support, or small volunteer teams operating in their spare time on a shoestring? I mean, you cite WoW as an example, and as wonderful as our team is - they're not even comparable on those terms.
  5. I'm presuming this is a global change and existing origin attacks will exhibit these characteristics? Tested, they do. And it was probably a stupid question anyhow.
  6. Precisely. And almost all the "excessive time" runs I've seen have been because where were too many lowbies sidekicked up too far and too high a difficulty setting means they're fighting purples that they can barely hit and barely scratch when they do hit. Those are true drudgery. Everything else, nah. They might be "slow" by some arbitrary standard, but they aren't by any reasonable measure.
  7. Something else I've been seeing with the population increase... The City seems more alive. I mean, I was out back of beyond in KR running some missions, and while I was loitering near my mish door, a team came out of the door after me - and another team formed up and headed in.
  8. Encouraging people to use their browser search function to find information in a post (rather than the forum search function) would help some.
  9. Folks, if you want to know if something is in a patch, just read the patch notes... Or just search them for "base".
  10. Coyotedancer was talking about soloing in the 40-50 range, I was talking about having teams with a higher proportion of sub 50's.
  11. Last night I snagged all 8 in AP plus two in King's Row at level 5. One individual got all 8 in AP plus two in the Hollows at level 2.
  12. - When completing/exiting the tutorial mission with Flower Knight, you do not get "return to contact" and a pip on your Nav ring. This matches what happens on Live, but if we're concentrating on the new player experience, perhaps now is the time to look at that. - Ditto the colors of the arrows over the heads of the various contacts, there's quite a bit of weirdness and inconsistency going on. Need to run the tutorial a couple of times to see if I can express it better. @lemming Yeah, with the jet pack and athletic run, it's actually pretty easy to get the extra two badges. (Even if there are places that a new player probably shouldn't try.) The barrier to getting them isn't having them available, it's figuring out how to use your travel powers and how to find where those badges are. (Maybe it's time to import some of the things that are on the Vidiot Maps maps into the base game.) That being said, I think the new system is inferior to the old. Players have to travel outside of Atlas to get destinations to TP to, so there's no particular reason to have to travel outside of Atlas to earn it. But on the flip side, yeah, we need to introduce players to the idea that there's more to city than Atlas...

  14. No shame in that! I just wanted to put that out there because I still occasionally run into people who don't know about the freebies popmenu. One of my missions in life is try and get more people to test below the "incarnated 50" level.
  15. Depends on the character... My more support oriented toons tend to level via DFB/TFs(WSTs)/PUGs. Offensive based toons, I frequently DFB until 5 then head to KR and start radios or arcs from there. (Though if I'm feeling antisocial that day, you can 2XP/street sweep to 5.)
  16. Though, TBF, I don't necessarily hold a bad doppelganger encounter against a team. There's just too many variables and even a solid team with a good plan can have things go all pear shaped.
  17. Using the freebies popmenu on Brainstorm, you can build and equip a character of any arbitrary level.
  18. Using the jetpack, it took me less than a minute from exiting the tram to collecting two more in King's Row (Wentworth History Buff and Upgraded). Keen Sighted and Mystic King/Queen are also close by and easily grabbed with the jetpack. I'm on the fence as to whether it's too much or not, but once they figure out how to find badges and how to travel, getting the extra two need not be that difficult.

I thought they were over open platforms, and now they're over vehicles... - The training dummies lights and con levels do not match. The lights are W, Y, O, R, P. The dummies con Y, O, R, P, P. - Tested the dividers using Earth Control. Stalagmites and Stone Cages hit just the targeted dummy. Salt Crystals hit both the targeted dummy and an adjacent dummy. The animation effects of Volcanic Gases extended beyond the dividers, but only the targeted dummy took damage. - Tested the dividers using Radiation Blast. Irradiated and Neutron Bomb were both stopped by the dividers.
  20. Suggestion: Athletic Run should be added to the tray alongside the jet pack, sprint, and prestige power slide. Tested, works fine. Badge and 'porter awarded after finding my tenth exploration badge.
  21. Time to go through 'em and clean 'em out then.
  22. Anyhow, vitriol control is the mod's job, not the players. (And I've seen some amazingingly low key disagreements get labeled "hate" and "vitriolic".) This ability is far too easily abused both by players who can't or won't face criticism of their idea and/or by players who wish to create the appearance of solid support for their idea.
