  1. Spotted this costume out in the wild - and with some changes, it'll perfect for one of my toons... So, I figured I'd ask the experts here: How to duplicate this costume?
  2. Well, at least you rescued something... I should post the pic I took over the weekend. Edit: Except you're against a dark background so you hardly stand out.
  3. Patch notes still mention the P2W vendor (vice S.T.A.R.T.) in two places... No time like the present to start using the new terminology.
  4. Certainly. But there's a point where you have sufficient minions that you stop being a Mastermind and start being the commander of a army.... And that point is scaled both by raw numbers as well as by the intelligence, independence, etc... of your pets. Otherwise, Lord Recluse would be a mastermind as well. But really, yeah. As someone said upthread, you can't really map CoH archetypes onto comic book characters.
  5. You add a period (".") or plus sign ("+") to your email address and follow it with additional characters. [email protected], and [email protected] will both be directed to your [email protected] inbox.
  6. It may be possible, but it's not really desirable to add further visual spam to the game. It's already bad enough with auras, and people's buffs affecting crowds, etc... etc...
  7. That means that particular claim cannot be brought back before the court. It does not forestall future claims of infringement. It does not in any way protect CoH/Homecoming from Marvel filing suit for infringement.
  8. That's... not how it works. While "commercial use"* is one of the factors to be evaluated in determining Fair Use, not being commercial is not a Get Out Of Jail Free card. *It's actually way more complicated than that.
  9. Not everyone wants to change their toon's alignment, I know I don't.
  10. Dangit, you know you've got me earwormed now, right?
  11. I kite them, slowly sliding in until Stoney aggros and initiates combat, then quickly backing off. (Sometimes first firing a ST hold/immob, sometimes an AOE hold/immob.) Do it right, and generally at worst I take the Alpha from a minion. It's an art, not a science. True, because the meta on HC is "throw inf at the problem until it's not a problem any more". (Usually a self inflicted problem because they insist on running headlong into things at +4/x8.) The meta is very emphatically not the only way to do things.
  12. Confirmed that a hero can earn Party Animal. Kinda wish it had cooler art than just the bog standard low level exploration badge.
  13. For reference, my build isn't optimized for anything in particular and it's largely SO based. Soloing my earth/rad, I almost never take the full alpha, and the vast majority of the time I do - it's because of a screwup on my part. (Usually going in too fast and not paying attention to who is in range.) I only take significant damage maybe once out of every ten to twenty encounters before Stoney pulls 'em off of me. I do not agree with the proposition that a 'troller needs a specialized defensive build.
  14. If you don't speak for everyone, then why have you been consistently attempting to lay down policy and generally throwing your weight around? The "rhetorical nonsense" is a direct response to you acting like you're running the place. That being said, I'd kinda prefer the material be on the wiki because that's way more accessible than a Google Doc. I do not have a heartache with heading the page with a link to the Google Doc specifying that it's source for the most up-to-date information.
  15. "The Informant" would definitely be useful for one of my Vigilantes...
  16. I'd try dropping by the Unofficial Homecoming Wiki club.
  17. Whenever, wherever I see a cool costume/concept, I send a tell and let them know if I have the time.
  18. Missed that in the patch note when I looked yesterday, and of course found it today. Did some quick testing, and if the chance is random it seems to be maybe a bit too high as it lead me through all of the badges in Atlas Park. If it's not random, I don't know how I feel about putting new players on rails and leading them by the hand. OTOH, I can see the value of getting some Merits, and by extension cash into their pockets. (Once on they stumble on how to do so, but that's a different topic.) Also, leading them all the way through a zone seems to work against discovering them via street sweeping.
  19. Not disagreeing with the general sense that the Dev's can do better... But after some of what's been said here, there's something else that's not gonna be popular but needs to be said: there's a lot of players that need to do better as well. (I do try, but I'm not excluding myself from that group.) It's beyond ridiculous to expect the Dev team to acknowledge every single point of feedback made. And when what you encounter in the process is different than what you expected from the process, it's equally ridiculous to pronounce the process broken without considering whether it's your expectations that are off base.
  20. Out doing some testing of exploration tips - are you supposed to randomly get additional tips when out picking up Exploration badges? (This was not the one you get for finding your second Exploration badge.)
  21. Knew two guys in the Navy like that - their names were identical except for one letter, and their SSN's were identical except for one number, and both were members of the same small(ish) community (inside the Navy). They both kept getting the other guy's stuff in their service records.
  22. Yeah, this is very much a "lather, rinse, repeat" situation. I mean, I get what the devs are saying in some sense - they want to see what we come up with. (And frankly it would help if the players in general were a bit more discerning and imaginative... but we can't really change the players) But it would definitely help if the devs were a bit more open, because there's not enough of us and not enough time in Beta for us to grok some changes and determine if the devs vision was really being met.
