  1. Thanks. A cap of 5 makes it sound useful for soloing but not for teaming. And I only team with controllers.
  2. I'm not asking for people who do not like it to say why. I am asking to see if anyone does use it and if so, what they use it for.
  3. That game is still there. Just play on mission teams below level 30 or so. It is the high level game that is terrible and boring. The low level game is still great fun.
  4. One thing I didn't see commented - immobilize provides knockback but not knockdown protection now. So if you are in a team with a dominator or controller you can use knockback powers on foes that are immobilized and you will not knock them back.
  5. We have axes, swords, shields, bows. And an amazing costume creator. We have Cim as a Roman setting and we have Praetoria as an alternate starting and storyline setting. Would you like CoX to put those together and have an alternate start and storyline setting in a fantasy world? Maybe each zone is a different historic theme - asia, mesoamerica, vikings, knights, etc. Literally the same game. Presumably the ability to move characters between the regular city and the fantasy setting (maybe at 20+ like Praetoria). Just a setting so that you can play a fantasy character and participate in fantasy stories.
  6. At this point I basically only play /dark. I like /rad but /dark basically does everything from debuff, heal, control with your rezz power, and stealth. My top 3 combos are electric/dark, ice/dark, and earth/dark. They all get good control every fight at level 22 or whenever you slot enhancements. And all 3 can drop a control power from around a corner so you can avoid the alpha. I basically don't play about level 32 and I only team. So good aoe control at lower levels is what I look for.
  7. Right. So I take every new character to the tailor and create different costumes for them.
  8. Fire Wire has a bit plot for robbing a bank.
  9. The game has its usual methods. Contacts that you go to on the map, the AE tool, the Oroborous search, radio missions, and tips. Which one do you prefer?
  10. I cannot see what the difference is between soul noir and regular. What is the difference?
  11. Spines brute named Thistle Hurt Mind Control controller, brain in a jar with eyes called Dr Real Eyes Electric/dark named Punk Shocker Villain robots mastermind rodent - Lab Brat not mine, but a captain america clone ice tanker in ice armor named Polar Ice Cap
  12. I don't believe this for a minute. "one time", right.
  13. He's not really talking about powersets. He is talking about types of powers. Right now the only way to have a pet powerset is to be a mastermind which is also buff/debuff. You cannot have a character who summons ninjas and has control powers. It is not a question of how good ninjas is. It is that you cannot combine them with control.
  14. I have been to Null the Gull and changed from Villain to Hero and Hero to Villain on excelsior. You just talk to him and it is done.
  15. Keep in mind that the game exists to provide fun for players not exercise for powersets. Creating things to increase player enjoyment is a good idea. Creating things to make powersets feel more useful is not as good of an idea. So ATs should be created because people want to play them. Not because a matrix is missing an X in a box.
  16. Go to Pocket D and talk to Null the Gull and he can set your alignment to anything you want.
  17. Why put an NPC in the city at all if you just want to contact them using phones and email?
  18. It waits until you get off work? So you're a casual player?
  19. I never thought I would play CoX again, but as a game in a modern setting I was reminded of it frequently even 6 years after live. The biggest trigger for me is electric stations. Seeing the metal towers and power lines I always think there should be clockwork around.
  20. By a few new people do you mean one per arc, or they would each have many arcs?
  21. I have a character on redside since I need to do a patron arc. Superleap was much more fun over there due to just that. Superleap in Steel Canyon is just going around boxes.
  22. It would be nice to get a list of general things to do and a t-shirt size for how much effort it is. New AT XXL New costume piece M Changing the numbers of a power S Changing the way a power works M Creating a new power L Creating a new zone XXL that would help players focus their thoughts on things that would give them the most value for the effort.
  23. I do not have this problem.
  24. So if I were waving my hand, I would divide the game into 5 types of zones (ignoring blue, red, and gold). Starting zone. Your level is your level. Has no ambushes, holiday events, etc. It is always the same in effect (although it can change looks for the seasons). A safe haven for new players. Standard zone. Your level is your level. Has ambushes, holiday events, etc. Has radio missions and older generic mission arcs. A core set of zones that is intended for general play. Steel Canyon, Talos Island, PI, etc. Story zone. Your level is exemplared to the zone level. Has no ambushes, raids, holiday events, etc. It is always the same in effect and may always look the same - Croatoa, Cimmerora, etc but also Faultline, Striga, etc. Arcs are designed for stories and soloing not necessarily for teaming. Hazard Zone. Your level is exemplared to the zone level. Has no ambushes, raids, holiday events, etc. It is always the same in effect and may always look the same - Hollows, RWZ, etc. Arcs are designed for teaming not necessarily for soloing. PvP Zone. As they are now.
