I don't think Arcana said it was the same as resistance, more that it is equivalent to it in that it is a buffer to your health, however in certain circumstances it is better in that it doesn't care what damage type you are taking, so adding extra HP will benefit you against all damage types, where most resistance bonuses are typed.
  2. You can't + up procs anyway, the boosters don't show as an option for them, only catalysts do. At least that's how it works for purple sets, I'm assuming it's the same for the others as well. My non purple IOs are pretty much all attuned so I can't check them to see.
  3. Another option, if you are struggling to get a team due to being on at odd hours, or the like, is dual boxing (as long as the server isn't at high load). I'm not talking about PLing from a second accounrt, although that is certainly an option, but actually creating something on the other account that will help out running missions at lower levels, something like a thugs/FF MM. They don't require micro managing and the extra damage and def at low levels will help speed up levelling.
  4. If there were a staff (trident) secondary I'd have said water/staff blaster, alas there isn't. Best I can come up with is staff/ice/leviathan brute.
  5. Yeah, the best I can come up with for that one is you have reverse engineered the mediporter tech and your quiver is essentially a mini teleporter, then you have a whole bunch of arrows with beacons you can beam in at a moments notice.
  6. I'm pretty certain that is not how it works. You get a mag duration for the length of the power. What you do get, with controllers for example, is chance for a separate hold with its own mag and duration, which will run out before the normal version would. So you get a chance to hold bosses with 1 hit, but it won't lst as long.

  10. If you are building up your arms for archery you are doing it wrong. It's all about the back muscles.
  11. Why would it give you extra time? It doesn't increase the duration of the hold, as far as I can remember, only its magnitude. Or has that changed?
  12. If you want something that is pretty rock solid at low levels try a SR/MA tank. Mine had pretty much softcapped def to all positions by around level 10 (with a little help from storm kick) if memory serves. Fairly sure it had softcapped melee def (again with use of storm kick) at something nuts like level 4!

  15. Should that be TF > EP? Both chains have ET where only one has EP. Admittedly it is very early here and I am not fully awake, so I may have misread something that makes it clear whether it is ET or EP. Edit: never mind me. I take it it is saying the chain that uses TF then ET is better, rather than saying that the chain that uses TF is better than the one that uses E(T orP). (I guess I am just used to ">" being "greater than")

  17. For me it just means staying above melee range, so the (generally) harder hitting melee attacks are nullified, but keeping their attention with attacks and taunt. It's not really something I do as there are so many maps where it just isn't viable most of the time, like caves and Oranbega, but I suspect people only use it in specific circumstances (such as LR and SM as mentioned above), rather than as a normal everyday tactic.
  18. I just went with the default slot in beta decay on my Rad tank and used the Achiles' heel -res.

I can see this being the type of build that could work really well on a themed team of SoA, where everyone has taken the leadership powers, so you are all way over the softcap for defence, have a load of damage from (up to) 16 assaults running, and so much +tohit it's laughable. Not so sure I would want to play it solo. It's an interesting idea though. I was actually considering a fully procced out spider for the themed team I play with, we've only had one run out so far and are around level 24, so I haven't actually planned it out yet, it's being played by ear other than getting the leadership powers as early as possible. But running through (and obliterating) the low level content redside was a blast.
  20. I'm afraid I am with Sovera on this one, out of context of the rest of your build (or knowing what your build goals were) that slotting just looks bizarre. If it works for you though that's all that really matters.

  22. I have a vague recollection of someone on these forums saying that was the case, but I don't have an invuln to test it out with myself.

I've never had an invuln anything, so can't really comment on how well it works in invincibility, but having it in an aim or build up power is a good place for it as it has around the 90% chance to proc even with around 70% recharge slotted. It's borderline broken on a stalker with their chance for build up refresh, so many build ups! But for anyone else that plays in largish teams regularly tactics is the place to go. From your choices above CJ would be the one I dropped and use the hover you are taking anyway for combat positioning. I generally use a bind to toggle between hover and fly, which works well in most circumstances.
  24. For me, I usually have maneuvers anyway, so tactics makes more sense. It has less of an end. cost, has some fear res and, if you team a lot, slotting the gaussians chance for build up in it has a much better proc rate than if you slot it in FA because it has a chance to proc for everyone it hits, not just off of you like FA does. On FAs side it does have the tohit debuff res, but the other benefits of tactics generally outweigh that for me.
  25. Yeah, if you're not using shockwave in your rotation there's not much point having the FF in it.
