  1. It's recently dawned on me how few low-level hero missions are actually accessible via the Ouro portal, yet it seems like there are dozens of contacts in the first 15 level range. It would be nice to bundle some of the random missions together by theme (villain groups from the same contact, for example) and maybe slap 5 merits on them and call it a flashback. As it is, practically nothing in the early level flashbacks sends us in to King's Row or Perez Park, probably making more than a few of us wonder what those zones were ever for. An alternate idea I've dreamed of for a while would be a Level Scaling system where a contact in Ouro would set your active level to anything you choose which you already surpassed (maybe with a 24hr cooldown). That way you could access contacts who would no longer talk to you and accrue exp without outleveling missions. I think all of us want to have a 50 build even if we still want to enjoy lower level missions.
  2. I'm really hoping for: Bantam (and) Kamikaze Kid ...if they are not in active use on this server. KK I have tried spelling differently but nothing really has the same magic. Bantam I just won't bother with without the proper name.
  3. Dual-box. 2nd account is just as free as the first.
  4. Informative! So much for that idea!!!
  5. I love that little guy. Up until now, I always 6-slotted Singularity with a pet-set-enhancment of some sort, but got to wondering, does that really play to it's greatest strengths? So I tried 6 slotting it with the controller set Overpowering Pressence, particularly because I was curious about the Chance for Energy Font proc. I wondered if, in effect, my pet would then be making it's own pets! The main question I have in relation to this enhancement is how it triggers, especially because after a few days I haven't noticed it. I was hoping it would have a chance to trigger with all of Singularity's attacks, but am now wondering if it is only per the times I activate whichever power it is on (in this case summoning Singularity which is generally a one-and-done situation)? Some clarification would be appreciated! Secondly, how 'BOUT slotting Singularity? What are some of the best combos to enhance all of it's many strengths? I wouldn't mind 'frankenslotting' if it enhances multiple aspects of that beautiful glowing orb!
  6. PART 2 QoL upgrade! LRT prioritization - I know LRT is still fresh and probably being revised somewhat as we speak, but it would be neat if LRT would prioritize the order of the zones based on things like character alignment and active missions. Villains and Goldsiders already have it rough enough, scrolling down the list to find their homes like second class citizens just rubs it in even more (although perhaps they already knew their choices would come at a cost). Ouroboros Temp Powers - When you run an Ouro arc, everyone on the team receives credit for the arc and merits as though it were their contact, yet only the team lead typically receives the temp powers they award. Half of the time the temp power is a large motivation in running many of these arcs, it would be nice if the whole team could share in these rewards! Global Accolades (with a catch) - A fellow player and I were discussing if exploration accolades should become global unlocks, I personally do not believe they should because of one word: merits. You would either have to eliminate hundreds of award merits from the game or risk other players immediately exploiting free availability of hundreds of merits to churn-and-burn characters that they create solely for merit farming. Obviously, the player base would probably wind up in an uproar if they find themselves no longer being rewarded for zone exploration BUT I did think: what if each accolade allowed a 1 time unlock per times earned... meaning each time you earn one accolade you gain a credit which would show up on an un-earned exploration badge for the other characters on your account. Then if you so choose, you could click to redeem it and probably forfeit the 5 merits on whichever character you choose to award it to. It sounds complex and like it would require a lot of additional programming so I imagine HC would probably rather let sleeping dogs lie on this one. But if it WAS to be implemented, I suppose it could also be applied to other accolade powers like Geas or TF Commander. Might be something to consider!
  7. I'm a bit of a wishful thinker with no way to help make any of this a reality, BUT I was blown away by the addition of inherent stances in this past update! If my beastly-dudes can be beastly without a toggle, it means SOMEONE is out there making wishes come true!
  8. Here is my wish list for CoH updated for 2021! *Drop Down Account List At Log In Screen* - Instead of retyping account names, CoH will keep a list of any accounts which have logged in from your computer, enabling quicker logging in for those of us who alt or share computers! This actually seems practical and easy to implement without a whole lot of programming and I'm sure it would enhance the experience for many users! Waist Slider/Rotund Body Setting! - We've seen NPC's with their round bellies, we demand obesity! If whatever those NPC's have is at ALL compatible with the CC, I'd love to have it enabled! Heroes come in all shapes and sizes! Intermittent Snow/Weather/Rain - This time of year always has me wanting to see all the city zones of CoH blanketted in snow! Instead of a labor intensive zone overhaul for every zone like Atlas has, I feel that this could easilly be accomplished by an effect which would just switch on at random times (when seasonally appropriate obviously). Like a spattering of blood on the ground after an attack, we could have an accumulating snow effect on the surface of our city zones that fades away after a while. It hasn't properly snowed in the state in which I live for almost a decade, so I usually wind up looking for my snow experiences vicariously in video game settings. If it won't snow at home, Paragon is the best alternative! Mastermind Pet Coloration - Don't need to enable full CC options, but I would like to be able to color tinge my Mastermind pets! Just two main base colors for the costumes, and probably the ability to change skin tones! That way you can know that my mercs are MY mercs and those Pink and Purple Demons are with ME. I've heard that another CoH server allows for select MM pets to load from their own costume slots but I'd rather just recolor pets the way they are (AND not have to reserve all those different costume slots!)
  9. I was thinking how odd it is seeing Fusionette as the trainer in KW. A character we all associate with helplessness is supposed to train US?! I would love to see the KW trainer spot showcase player creations. Maybe on a weekly or at least monthly basis, rotate out to some noteworthy winner of a GM run contest of some sort. Costume Contest, AE arc, Bio, other! It would be a neat way to showcase the player base, and a highly coveted honor, obviously!
  10. I notice there's a .dds file and a .texture file in the zip, but my maps folder only has textures. Is the dds file required? Same directory, I take it?
  11. Now I've seen this thread and will try the suggestions from it when I get home! Don't mind me!
  12. New info: He's listed under is new name in my SG still, but still does not appear in my list-o-toons! 😦
  13. Hello! Just this morning I changed the name of a character on the Everlasting server and then it disappeared from the entire list! The oddest thing is the remaining characters all shifted up, so there isn't even an empty spot where they had been. I tried logging out and back in, switching servers to see if they had somehow moved over to one of them (although I did not check them all.) I also went into character creation and saw that the name I had chosen for them to change to was now unavailable (giving me hope that they are in the server somewhere). I am hoping that this will all clear up as the server databases go through their regular cycles, but somehow my guy has just become a ghost! His name WAS D. Glover and had been changed to Kam1kaze Kid (with a 1, because someone already got Kamikaze Kid! Grrrrrr!) Please help me find my dude!
  14. Mission from Maxwell Christopher - Find Records in Nemesis Front enemy holding key says Intruder Deteted. Sealing off inner santuary. which should most likey by detected (or deleted?!)
  15. Fair enough! *kicks dirt* "d'aw I didn't wanna use that silly numpad button anyway"...
  16. I'm setting up numpad keybinds and I had an idea to use numpad0 as an alternative to usuing a shift or ctrl key (this would be especially beneficial since I'm using a wireless numpad with my laptop and I can do it all from the same device!), Does anyone know if this will work? It would be something like numpad5 powexecname gravity distortion numpad0+numpad5 powexecname gravity distortion field for my grav controller to switch between the single target and aoe versions of a similar power I mean, I could just test it for myself, but I haven't finalized all my power selections, I'd rather you wise forum users go ahead and spoil it for me!
  17. As a grav controller, can I use powexec_location with Wormhole to launch enemies straight above me as high as possible? Is that the first part of the 0:00 coordinate specification? If so what number would equal directly overhead, if any?
  18. Holy cow! For these big team shots... do you have an individual account for every character?!?!
  19. Stalker could be fun for a kid with all the sneak attacks. I'd suggest a kinetic controller of some type as support. Locking down the enemy (or repeling them away for pure chaos!) seems like it would be beneficial no matter what he plays as.
  20. So as someone who alts between 2 or 3 types of almost every character type, it's only become apparent to me recently how much work is necessary to make effective Dominators and Masterminds. Each of them seems to require extra work and planning for survivability. The amount of work that goes into those archetypes makes me think that all the others basically have it easy. Are there any other glaring oversites to other ATs? Other than the basic need to overcome end-drain, it seems like everything else is free to do as it chooses. I guess my question boils down this: What are the commonly focused on areas of improvement for each AT? Without getting into every last detail, I wouldn't mind some shorthand here. I'm sure there's links available to stuff that was up during live discussing this very topic. Hell, post those if you've got 'em! I always feel like there's things happening under the surface of the game still left to be discovered as someone who just plays with the confidence that good-enough is good enough.
  21. Boy was I glad to see this thread! I didn't feel like creating my own self-centered thread, I'd rather be part of an ongoing communal one (although attention seeking all the same!) For the past couple months I've been cranking out hi-quality (for me) pieces primarily of my CoH characters with my drawing tablet, and they haven't been attracting anywhere near enough responses! I mean, yes, I am doing this for an audience of myself in mind, but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't enjoy fun, colorful pictures of superheroes! Here's my CoH directory My latest is my Praetorian, Dawn'sEarlyLight celebrating a bittersweet 4th of July And previous to that was my group of anti-heroes, The Emancipators, featuring Bitter and Then Some, King Cabbage, the Only Good Cop, and Nose Man But Nose Man (my grav/kin classic) wasn't always a man of virtuous crime, here he is partnered up with my other famous 50, January Arms! And here's Jan again with her eventual boyfriend, Patch Kidd, who also happens to be the underling of King Cabbage. (I have a lot of crossover between my heroes and villains and their forbidden loves!) And there's plenty more where those came from! I would appreciate any likes and follows any of you are capable of giving, and always love seeing other peoples "City of" artwork!
  22. Lovely! I just did a build using this one for comparison and it was eye-opening in terms of potential slotting tricks. I tweaked a few things (I'm partial to both of the stone mallets for example) and my result is not AS high in defense as yours but it's a far sight more survivable than anything I'd be able to make on my own. Thanks for sharing!
  23. Given the amount of characters I see that are walking around that aren't even in a supergroup, things certainly aren't as bad as they could be. (Same goes for all the blank character bios, if we were to implement global bios---most people would possibly not use either!) And a base is only a strain on the server if there are people walking around in it. Otherwise, a base is probably just a list of object coordinates and settings saved somewhere, This is also the game that allows people to write and upload their own missions with custom enemy groups, so if someone's going to run a server for it they probably should have allotted for heavy use, set a limit, or disabled taxing features like AE and bases if they lacked the resources to run them. I think HC is likely doing fine, given that the monthly fundraising goals are generally met within a day of being announced.
  24. Another idea occurred to me that would probably be easy to implement, because again, it's just text.... it would be nice to have Global Account Profiles! - Give us the same limitations as our character bio's for one "about me" for the overall account. A nice way for players to explain their basic info, play style, history with the game, other hobbies, links to social media, whatever!
  25. I had two thoughts recently about minor features which MIGHT even be easy to implement into the game. 1) a text command to control music volume (and possibly sound effects as well)! It would be nice to bind or make macros which could alter the level of background music. Sometimes you wanna hear CoH, sometimes you've got something else playing! The command could be something like /BGMvalue ## (and you would set a value between 00 and 100) That way you could set it to absolutely anything you would prefer. 2) typable text entries in supergroup bases. Add immersion! Put notes on a bulletin board between teammates! Write a page in a characters diary! Leave a ransom note! Leave a historical record of your teams accomplishments! I imagine this could be limited to something like 5 text entries per base (or more, or less!) and would have a character limit similar to the character biography input. You could just pull it up in base builder and slap it onto any object. Could inspire a lot of fun sidequests!
