The prices are generally pretty stable. apart from things that are hard to get anyway like D-Synchs. We seed salvage when needed, at high but not stupid prices. So there is a ceiling on salvage prices. If it became super inflationary I have no doubt cipher would seed whatever it was that was going berserk to cool it down and bring it under control. In all the time HC has been going there has never been a need, but we do have the tools available if it became necessary.

Hi Anything pre-Homecoming is lost forever I'm afraid.

I haven't tried the new difficulty levels, but they aren't compulsory. When I run a team on lower levels I start at +1 and see if we need to increase the difficulty or not. Sometimes it takes a little while for a team to gel and I'll say on the next mission "Increase difficulty?" then let the team decide. When I'm not running a team I've been in incarnate teams where we have romped through on +4 and an increase in difficulty isn't going to cause much problem. I've also been on +4 teams where we wipe constantly and we need to drop it down a notch. As long as the team leader is a reasonable person and not one of those "Do it my way n00b" then it's another option for well balanced teams.

Just a little patience please, the patch notes are published but we need to do some last minute checks and tweaks before we open it up to the public

Some questions from someone who never played CoH before
GM Crumpet replied to SmallBrainEnergy's topic in Help & Support
All the staff are players, and we will play and team up on our player accounts. Some people like me are known on certain characters I play regularly, some are pretty incognito. And some are immediately obvious as they have titles like "City Council" under their name. Unlike commercial games we as GM's are given pretty much free reign. We don't have to run everything by a committee before we respond to a ticket or reply to a player. It doesn't mean we aren't monitored, there is oversight, but we are treated like adults and it means we can jump in if we are available. And welcome. The game is pretty forgiving and solo play is common. I often play solo and mostly team for TF's or events like trick or treat. You'll find players are really helpful if you ask something in the help channel, and there are often GM's available on Discord. A GM or Lead GM will always respond if we are available, City Council and devs generally can't. And don't worry if you see a GM about ingame. We often wander in to chill and be silly with players 🙂 -
Thanks all. Poor Cipher is getting no rest.

Depends if the arc is split. Then the second part is unavailable if you outlevel the contact

Enjoy the journey, it's not about the end game here. Learn to use the auction house and merits or you'll be permanently broke. Enjoy making different alts and concepts, but be prepared to do the same training contacts over and over. (My friend made dozens of characters and never got past level 20 then gave up the game because he was bored. He'd never seen 90% of the content).

We've done some investigating, and Cipher has run his OVH tools, and it's something on the way to the OVH servers and is outside any of our control. Some bad nodes or outages elsewhere meaning the signal is bouncing round the world trying to find a route between players and the servers. Which is why some people are lagging and some aren't. It literally depends on where you live. I'm in Europe and have no issues as we use a different trunk.

As others have said, make sure you have downloaded the launcher, and also that you are logging in with your game account not your forum account. The login name is here https://forums.homecomingservers.com/account/ and you can also change the password. I see your account hasn't logged in (successfully) for five years. Edited to add, you can download the launcher here https://manifest.cohhc.gg/launcher/hcinstall.exe

No Point of Suggestion (at this rate)
GM Crumpet replied to LightMaster's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I've said it before over the years, but it's worth repeating. some things that seem to be so simple are an absolute nightmare to implement. The code is twisted and complicated, and so many times a minor change will result in major problems. "I only changed the colour of those trees, why did city hall vanish?" kind of problems. There are a lot of suggestions that have been implemented, but we are a volunteer group of people doing stuff in our spare time. One dev might be passionate about costume parts, another might be brilliant at stories. Another might love redoing zones. We gain devs, we lose devs. If a particular suggestion resonates and they go "I love that idea" they will look into it and decide if it's even possible. Then how much work is needed to implement. Then that dev leaves because real life gets in the way and it's another project on the back burner. To be honest I'm always in awe when a new page comes out for the sheer amount of work a small group of people have been able to pull together. Most legacy games are frozen in amber. Maybe some bugs are fixed if you are lucky, but there are few that have the level of skill and dedication that we do. I love reading peoples suggestions, and a lot of them are interesting and clever. But we aren't a multi million dollar enterprise with unlimited resources and hundreds of staff to spend months on implementing ideas. We are a volunteer group that does what we can because of the love we have for the game and the willingness to spend a lot of our free time working on something that is really time intensive. -
Mission Architect Sunday Special: Story based teaming in AE!
GM Crumpet replied to ZamuelNow's topic in Mission Architect
A pleasure. Shame it had to end that way. As I said ingame, when you finish leave a note in the box for the mission creator so they can move the glowie -
Flies aren't that fast, I can usually slap one with a swatter. My dog thinks they are flying raisins and loves snapping them out of the air.

Wealth redistribution system to help new players
GM Crumpet replied to Intermipants's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hey, don't bring me into this. I'm a broke GM I have around 200 inf total -
It's a known dual monitor thing. Just open the options in the launcher and click reset graphics on next run, and make sure it's set to the correct monitor. Happens to me all the time. Usually closing the second monitor first works, but sometimes it has it's moments and forgets which one is primary. Being a GM I'll open a second instance when someone needs help and park my player alt somewhere safe, Then even though I closed the GM screen after I'm done next time I log in it decides to be annoying.
