  1. The devs do follow the suggestions and bug forums closely. Some suggestions have been taken on board and implemented, others not. There have been a few times when a dev has gone "oooo I love that idea" and done something with it or looked and realised it wasn't possible. Same with bugs. Many of the longstanding ones are unfixable, or would take a lot of time and effort to recode entire portions of the game, and in many cases it's not worth it for the small irritation the bug causes. Big bugs get fixed of course, especially if they are game breaking. Sometimes Number Six will roll out a hotfix in emergencies.
  2. locking this thread. It seems to have run it's course
  3. Who left this heavy bag of influence on my doorstep? Looks like I can get those superior winter sets I've had my eye on
  4. Moved to bug reporting section
  5. As others have said, you need to create a game account here https://forums.homecomingservers.com/gameaccount/ You need both a forum and game account to play
  6. I've tried selling white and yellow on AH but it's usually for pennies. Vendor is 250 for white, 1K for yellow and 5K for orange. don't sell orange at vendors.....
  7. If your salvage is full just sell it at any vendor. White and yellow are mostly vendor trash unless you are doing a lot of crafting. Orange is best sold on the auction house (list it for 10 inf, trust me) and sells for around half a million, give or take.
  8. Hey, you think our warnings are bad? I used to get GM Miss warn me occasionally. It wasn't the warning that hurt, it was the fact she was so sad and disappointed in me. That was what cut deeply. I still miss her.
  9. Basically everything said here. Having servers in two countries means that on those occasions when one goes down for any reason we can immediately switch countries with a minimum of downtime. We rent the servers, so we can have as many shards as we want (in theory) at no extra cost. There is a lot more going on behind the scenes such as admin programs, backup and monitoring software and again, having separate servers means we can switch if there are problems easily. Long story short, it would be a lot of work and create a lot of bad feeling in the player base to do something that would ultimately take a lot of admin time for zero gain and actually reduce our flexibility
  10. I like being anti-social and mostly play on Reunion. If I want to team I'll pop onto Excelsior.
  11. I've said many times it should be off by default, but nobody listens
  12. The only thing we've done is the weekly nerf of regen
  13. Victory was spun up in the early days by Michiyo who is a Homecoming admin. She ran the server along side Homecoming and it uses the same code and CoC as us. Eventually she found her HC duties were taking a lot more of her time and she couldn't give the players on Victory the time needed so it was decided to fold Victory into Homecoming. It's not that Victory was ever a separate thing, more that it was an early iteration that didn't collapse like a lot of the early servers. Rather than close it down and delete her players progress it was folded into HC so they carried on as before, just with a bigger player base to interact with. Unlike Vanguard (which will remain separate and act as a beta shard) Victory was identical to HC in every respect so folding it in as another shard was relatively easy. And yes, Vanguard is also under the HC umbrella. It acts as a testing ground before patches and updates go live.
  14. To clarify. We don't discuss other servers or what they do as they have no right of reply and while the team has nothing but good will towards them and wish them well, sometimes players get quite heated and it's unfair on them and our players are better than that. We also don't play on those servers, don't keep up with their updates, and have no contact with them. If they do something and we do something similar, or vice versa, it's serendipity not plagiarism. As teams we often think along the same lines and what one person thinks is a good idea others also feel the same way. We might all implement it differently, but if one person thinks of something you can guarantee someone else will too. I imagine they have done things similar to what we have done, not because they are copying us but because it makes sense and someone has put in the time to code it. As a few people have said, they do their thing, we do ours. Sometimes they look similar, sometimes they don't. As a team we are glad they exist to give players a choice of flavour. The more people play the better and it's good to see the game in such good hands with other admins and devs who are as passionate about the game and player base as we are. Their choices aren't ours, but that's what makes it so much fun. It would be a sad world if we all went "Our way is the only way".
  15. We don't discuss what other servers do or don't do. We do our thing, they do theirs.
  16. Victory was in an odd position. The admin was Michiyo who spun it up early in HC history and she's been a member of the HC team for almost as long as we've been going. She is in charge of the wiki, various technical jobs on the backend and Victory was a kind of testing ground for quick fixes and patches as it ran on the same code and client as the main Homecoming. It was always the plan to eventually fold it into the main server, but it wasn't urgent and it's taken a while to get round to it. It's not like it appeared out of nowhere, it's been around for years as a side project but still very much under the Homecoming umbrella. Other servers out there have no contact with us and do their own thing. I'm sure they are happy to make their own version of the game to their vision just as we do with ours.
  17. We don't partner with people I'm afraid. We have no issue with people streaming, but we don't do endorsements or have official streaming partners
  18. It would take a lot of recoding the devs don't have time for, even if it were possible which isn't a given considering how tangled to code is
  19. the link Michiyo gave to the game account https://forums.homecomingservers.com/account/
  20. As Michiyo said, that's your forum password and not your game password. You are interacting with the forum so you are looking in the wrong place.
  21. I've been in teams where someone has been power levelled to 50 with no knowledge of the game and it's painful. No inf for enhancements, terrible slotting, often no travel power. When AE was in atlas I had someone ask me how to get to Kings Row and be surprised there was a transit system. "It's marked on the map".... "What map?".... Games like WoW have a lot to answer for. So many games kind of ignore the grind to max level as a necessary evil and concentrate on the end game content. Diablo 4 is a really good example of that. Very short story, get that out of the way, then grind for gear to increase the chance of a good drop. Then have the chances of the best drop so low most people never see them. I've had one Mythic drop in the time I've been playing and that was because of an event. At least Diablo 2 and 3 had a long story to follow. People come into our game conditioned to think the low levels are a waste of time and the good stuff starts at the level cap. Then get upset because there actually isn't that much to do, and updates concentrate on content for lower levels.
  22. It doesn't ask for the current password. It asks for the new password then a second time to confirm. It's possibly not clear on the page though.
  23. That's that green stuff my dogs like to eat (I swear they are part goat). I try to avoid it if possible. I've had my garden paved so I don't have to mow it
  24. True. I find Excelsior is bad for it, the other shards less so. I've found that if more than one league is in close proximity then the lag is horrendous. I'll often make a second league then incan the league to the other side of the map. Most people stick to the portal areas, especially in Steel and Skyway. Moving to the far reaches of the zone makes it less awful.
  25. Depending on the event as well. I can get a level 1 character to vet levels in an hour or so on Mapserver.
