True. I find Excelsior is bad for it, the other shards less so. I've found that if more than one league is in close proximity then the lag is horrendous. I'll often make a second league then incan the league to the other side of the map. Most people stick to the portal areas, especially in Steel and Skyway. Moving to the far reaches of the zone makes it less awful.

Depending on the event as well. I can get a level 1 character to vet levels in an hour or so on Mapserver.

Veteran levels are what you get after you finish normal levels. Someone like Laucianna runs numerous events like Hamidon, Mothership Raids, Labyrinth etc. daily. I usually get three vet levels doing Labyrinth. I believe Laucianna is the highest veteran level for that archetype (peacebringer) And Veracor is the highest veteran level out of everyone at around 14-15K (might be higher).

Find the file named data and rename it to data1 and see if that fixes things

If the name was released due to the name release you have to actually log into the game with the new character to activate the name transfer. If you try to rename a character before that step is completed the name release won't happen. Make new character log in log out delete new character rename old character to that name

The problem is that the way the modding tool is set up to update and modify files it would be quite hard. There are easily downloadable map overlays with seasonal stuff like Halloween GM locations, Xmas presents etc that can be added or removed at the click of a button. And while i have you captive, may I recommend double loud glowie!! It's awesome

If it has a max level then that level +3 is the highest it will increase in power. Most people tend only to use the procs in those unless it's an interesting set bonus

You need to remove all traces of vidiotmaps if you didn't use the installer, otherwise you can update them with a button click on Michiyo's modder. If you don't remove old versions you installed manually they clash with the modder version. As an aside, I'm the ultimate useless noob when it comes to technology and it works fine for me. Download it, install it, tell it to use Homecoming, point it at the CoH game folder

Now you're being unfair. We have light moderation compared to some places and prefer players to use their voices. We only interfere when it gets nasty. I've seen GM's attacked on this and other threads to the point I don't know which one is which any more. Cipher has responded, which is almost unheard of, and Widower as well. We don't have the assets, staff, time or facility to do what you want so we get attacked. I've been a GM for almost 5 years now and anyone who has ever had contact with me will tell you I'm extremely fair. I'll spend hours trying to fix an individual problem and work with someone to sort out their issue. I'm a very silly person who loves to have banter with players and do very daft things just to brighten someone elses day. And you know what? The rest of the GM team are people I'm proud to call my friends and colleagues. There isn't a bad one in the bunch. Every one of them, from the novice GM's to the devs to Cipher are volunteers and give their free time to a project they love with all their heart, even though their real life is incredibly busy. We don't dismiss rude and abusive behaviour, we just don't telegraph our actions and hold public lynchings. What we do or don't do is between the player and staff. We have sanctions that range from a quick "Hey mate, that came across as a bit harsh" DM's to warnings and points, to short bans, long bans and permanent bans. If anyone finds out the actions we took it won't be from us, but the downside is it looks like we aren't paying attention. someone gets a week long ban and for them it's upsetting and awful. For everyone else it looks like they've been a way for a week. Then we get complaints that X was reported 2 weeks ago and is still about. Of course they are still about, their ban wore off. We aren't going to say that though.

I live near @Lauciannaso I'll have to ask her if I can tag along. Of course we are more than five thousand miles away, so the cost might be somewhat high. I'll see what Cipher puts as the monthly donation for January 😛
