You know the person who does most of the generics reads these forums?

As long as it's polite we welcome negative feedback as well as positive. We mess up, we put our hands up and try to make it right. somethings broken? We try to fix it. You think our CoC and rules are too restrictive? We'll happily have a debate. There are reasons for a lot of our rules. Some are obvious, some we can't discuss. The only thing we are very intolerant about is rudeness.

The April fools event should be up at some point, you can get one to 50 quickly and when you do hit me up for a mids build. It's not cheap, but it's quite good. Also look at the kheld section of the forum. Laucianna has done an excellent guide to levelling and playing a PB and WS. I don't use the macro stuff, I can't get my head round it and find I'm awesome enough without it. Edit: I'm assuming the April fools Mapserver event will be happening. I've heard nothing either way, but it's incredibly popular so in theory it's going ahead. Just because I'm a GM doesn't mean I always have the inside scoop 🙂

The only time I've had any complaints was on my warshade and using Shadow Slip (fold space for normies). The tank "had a word" and I moved forward so I wasn't stealing his nicely herded mobs. I was basically bulldozing everything at the time. "Who's using fold space? Stop it!!".......... "Oops, my bad" "Oh it's you, carry on!!" 🙂 A well slotted warshade is a wonder to behold!!

Excel can be weird at times. I've never experienced it, but my two favourite AT's are MM and kheldians and some people won't team with them. It's strange but a well played MM or kheld can be an asset to a team, a badly played tank can kill everyone. But we get the blame. Excel has a high population so is more likely to have Hamidon raids nightly, MSR several times a day, daily labyrinth runs and regular iTrials. TF's and SF's are more likely to have enough people to form and farming is popular. There are plenty of people who ask for sitters and hitters without charging, so it's easy to avoid the venal players who think they are owed something because they take a small hit on the inf and XP from having people on the map. I'll occasionally run a farm on a new toon and open it up to all. I just ask people to chat and keep me entertained 🙂

Saying all that, the grind between 30 and 40 is real. I think the XP is a bell curve and that range is definitely slower to get past

The double XP boost from the START vendor helps, though it cuts inf earned to zero. Which sounds terrible but I did an experiment once and the sale of one orange salvage on the auction house raises more inf than the inf gain by levelling from 1 to 20 under normal conditions. Check you don't actually have XP turned off in the settings. Hours of grinding should get you plenty of levels, and completing story arcs gets you good XP and merits.

I think this conversation has run it's course. Other servers exist and do different things to us. We think that's great and wish them nothing but success. It's been a good discussion and no bashing of other servers which is great, but I think that good points have been made and it's time to close the discussion. If people wish to add suggestions that aren't direct copies of what other servers are doing then please feel free to make a thread on the suggestions page. One of the devs may well look and go "I love that idea" and run with it.

I use it to open a build someone gives me then slavishly follow it. I'm so bad at making builds myself, but some people are happy to spend hours frankenslotting for the elusive last 1% and I would feel churlish to not take advantage of their efforts.

Well I have a number of Karen alts, and most of them are villains. Except Karen the Barbarian. She's technically good even if she will demand to see the manager and doesn't care how many people she has to kill go through to get to him. She may well set fire to the offices as well just to emphasise her point.

That we can't help you with. All you can do is email them and ask nicely if they will return it, but they have no obligation to do so. Of course they may not have logged that account on in years so won't see it. If the email doesn't exist it will bounce back eventually

Put a ticket in and we'll restore the character for you, then you can claim the inf back and delete the character again. Just tell us the name of the alt and the shard it was on.

I appreciate your input. I like to think people know that we try to be fair. Sometimes it means we don't do anything as drastic as some people would like, but I have found in my years of being a GM that most people are just passionate, plus it's human nature to want the last word so arguments go on longer than they really should. I tend to dabble on the forums, Googly and Widower do the majority of the moderation. I'm usually the one to blame if you log in and find half your alts naked and named generic <number>.

I like to think of it as friendly chastisement. Spanking sounds so old fashioned 😛

Dang, that's seriously off topic but also interesting. I bought a 4060 TI last year for £400 (around $500 US) and it plays everything I need in gorgeous 4K. And my entire 32 core Threadripper PC cost less 3 years ago than that video card price quoted above.

My apologies if it sounded like I was trivialising the work. Even just a small change can take ages to implement as it needs to be checked and double checked, then the whole thing updated. I know how much time a "minor" fix can take 🙂
