  1. Yup. MC is amazing. Sure, it may not be as easy to see what the MC set is doing in groups as say an Earth or an Ice troller/dom, but they can still make a dramatic effect in whatever missions or TFs you're running. The 3 main single target powers all have a mez of some kind (sleep, knock up, and hold) while doing really good damage for a control set. The single target confuse is great for soloing or getting an extra free (short term) pet when tou're in a group. The aoes (confuse, sleep, and hold) are all massively useful as well. Team mates rushing in without waiting for the tank/brute to soak the alpha? Fire off that AoE hold and there is no alpha. Fighting one group and a teammate accidently aggros another? AoE sleep them and you can clean up the first group without worry before taking the fight to the guys napping over there. Any group any time for any reason? AoE confuse. Many lolz to be had when the mobs care more about beating up their best friends instead of you and your teammates. TK.... honestly, almost every set has a bad power. Sure a few folks out there find uses for it or like it, buuuut, meh. I've never thought of TK as anything more than a terrible waste of my blue bar. (YMMV though.)
  2. Oh wow, thanks! Was not aware I could do that, will change it now. :D
  3. So I love MSRs, one of my absolute favorite things to do in the game. Ever since the travel powers got updated I've been seeing how great Fold Space is for helping get mobs clustered into the middle of the bowl for everyone to slaughter en masse, and decided I'd give it a try. Then I got to thinking "If Fold Space is doing such a great job at that, why not couple it with Wormhole too?" so, this is what I came up with: Since Mid's hasn't been updated yet to include the new travel power trees, the lvl 49 power (Afterburner) is actually Evasive Maneuvers, but is still slotted it with an LotG: Def/+ 7.5% Global Recharge IO. That all brings my total recharge bonus from IO sets up to 101.25%. With Hasten active my total recharge rate is 171.25%. Hasten is *almost* perma at this point. It's got about a 2 second delay between being active and being able to fire off again. With all that recharge the CD on Fold Space is only 34 seconds, and the CD on Wormhole is 24 seconds. After unlocking my Alpha slot I chose Agility (currently using the T2 called "Agility Core Boost") for the 33% CD rate bonus. That further drops Fold Space's CD to 31 seconds and Wormhole's to 23 seconds. Near as I can tell with the Agility alpha slotted Hasten is now Perma *OR* it is so close to being Perma that it doesn't even have enough time to register any drops in recharge rates on the combat attributes window. I'm not sure if there are any other better/faster builds made with such a specific purpose in mind (literally being deigned just to use Fold Space & Wormhole as fast as possible in MSRs), but this is what I've managed to come up with so far. Also; I haven't tested it out yet on a Hami run. I imagine it should do pretty good there as well though since Gravity Distortion and Lift are both recharging in just about 2 seconds time. Should be super easy to just constantly spam them back and forth on the Green Mitos. (Will test it out either today or tomorrow on one of the nightly Hami double headers we do on Everlasting.) EDIT: Just took it to the Friday night double Hami Raid in The Abyss, and yeah. Between my own recharge and all the buffs everyone was stacking Lift, Gravity Distortion, and Rejuvenating Circuit were all recharging faster than I could fire them off, so pretty viable for Hami's too. (Was using my buffs as well, but those 3 were the main powers I was using for the rotation.) I have taken it on a few TFs so far though, and while it's damage doesn't really stand out that much it can still hold it's own fairly competently. Anyhow, just figured I'd share my build in case it might help anyone out and to see if someone has any suggestions for improving it even further. 😄 UPDATE: After having taken it to a few MSRs now, and following the advice I've received here gotta say this toon is actually hella fun. The ultimate insperations do seem to be pretty mandatory, so watch your wallet if buying from the AH or your threads if getting them from Luna. Each one lasting 3 minutes is great, but you'll need 10 of them to last you the whole raid once big red is down. (Also helps bringing along plenty of yellows as well). All that said... The buffs. OMG THE BUFFS. During the MSR I just went on tonight there was a lot of SB, AM, and other +recharge related buffs getting passed around. At one point my recharge rate almost broke 400%. Most of the time it was hovering at or around 260%. That was dropping the cool downs on Wormhole to about 16 seconds and Fold Space 24 seconds. It was pretty nuts. Just pulled out a Vanguard heavy at the start of it all and targeted through it the whole time. While I was hovering above the group it was wreaking havok along the edge of the bowl and providing me a steady stream of targets. Good times man. 😄
  4. Not on these forums much, so this is the first time I'm seeing this thread, but I stumbled across your YT channel a while ago and just wanted to say thanks. Great stuff on there, very helpful. 😄
  5. Were they? Didn't hear anything about it, but I'm rarely on the forums so I only really notice stuff once it gets to the normal (non-test) servers. Would be fantastic if it does go away/get replaced.
  6. Okay, I just wanted to say I love most of the changes but there's one thing I pretty much hate about it. Spirt Ward's new gong sound effect. Repeats way too much and is way too loud. Suuuuuuuuuuuuper annoying. Has gotten to the point where I tell people straight up to take it off me just because the sound effect drives me nuts.
  7. @Kyksie: OMG, I love that review! Think it was funnier than my story, and I wrote that to be humorous. Well done. 😄
  8. Hi Algebra! 😆 Good to see ya! Haven't bumped into many other UJLers since coming back, just you and Barrier (once or twice last year). Things have started working out again for me, pretty stable now. Hope things are good on your end as well. Not really into PvP anymore, but I'm on most days either PUGing around Excelsior, or hanging out with The Repeat Offenders on Everlasting. HMU in game some time if you're ever in need of some Venge-bait! 😄
  9. Been about a week now since I last updated this thread. Just wanted to remind everyone that the arc is now complete and awaiting your scrutiny. 😁
  10. Hi again folks. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to everyone for taking a look at this thread and to the folks who've played the story so far and left me feedback. I've taken a few of the comments and suggestions into account and re-worked mission #2 slightly. It's now on a slightly smaller map and has fewer patrols. Hopefully that will correct any issues people might run across with the defeat all objective. Other than that I cleaned up the text here and there, corrected some typos, and finished up mission #3. But now that I've had a full night's sleep to help recharge the batteries I'm going to start work on crafting mission #4. Also thanks @Kyksie for leaving a comment here as well. Looking forward to your review of the final product. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lots of changes were made, so I just updated the OP instead of this one. Should make the thread easier to read through for people just stumbling across it.
  11. Howdy folks! o/ New Friends, Old Enemies, & A Box of Cigars is a brand new (semi-serious, very-jokey) story focused mission arc now available at an AE near you! This story is DONE! Buuuut I'm still looking for feedback. Some minor revisions/alterations may still be made to the dialog, clues, and mission descriptions based on feedback. However, this is essentially the completed product. Currently in need of some play testers and reviewers to let me know if I might have missed or glossed over anything while tossing it all together, and to help me make sure that the story telling involved (as crazy as it gets) stays on point. It's available to anyone level 5 and above, but the story assumes you are a newish hero in Paragon City and thus level restrictions will be applied. (Meaning you will be exemplared down for these missions if you exceed their level ranges). Anyhow, if any of you have some spare time and want to try out a different kind of story on the AE please consider giving "New Friends, Old Enemies, & A Box of Cigars" a try and leaving me a review. Arc ID# 39284 A couple of final notes: Without giving too much of the plot away, this arc is an attempt at re-casting your character as a co-star in a buddy-cop film. It does indeed start off with an escort mission. Don't worry, unless you are playing at a high difficulty the mobs are VERY unlikely to kill the target. There is ONE Kill All. I understand these are not very popular for whatever reason, but thematically it makes sense for the plot. After going through some of the feedback and messages I've received I did remove the Kill All requirement from the Warriors mission. The Arrest All the Nazis mission is still a Kill All. (1) They are Nazis. (2) If you played through the story, you know why they need to be arrested. (3) They are Nazis. There is a very large elevator shaft at the end of the final mission that your partner is not capable of climbing. This is meant to give players some agency in how they go about facing off against the BBEG at the end. You can go it alone (if you really want) and be THE HERO who saves the day and your partner's skin. OR: You can bring the boss back to where your loyal partner awaits and take him out together as the CRIME-FIGHTING DUO that you now are. Yay. Choices! 😁 There a lot of clues given to the player at various points in the arc. Try checking them out from time to time for a few more quick jokes. Also, on a side note, if *STILL* you want a few more quick cheap laughs try keeping an eye on the NPC's chatter during boss fights.
  12. The real question we should be asking is did he get his money for nothing and his chiks for free? or did he have to move these refrigerators and those color TVs?
  13. Like it, not sure if I'll use it, but I definitely like it. As someone who mostly plays kins I've always wanted some nice, clean, simple keybind files to make things a little less hectic in full team scenarios. Something along the lines of the Mastermind numpad keybind set but mostly for use on the other players in the team. Numpad 0 - Tank/Brute target enemy near & corner pull. Numpad period - SB/ID/IR Numpad enter - FS,SP,SS Numpad 1 - dps passive Numpad 2 - dps defensive Numpad 3 - dps go nuts Numpad 4 - CC&Buffer passive Numpad 5 - CC&Buffer defensive Numpad 6 - CC&Buffer go nuts Numpad 7 - Tank/Brute passive Numpad 8 - Tank/Brute defensive Numpad 9 - Tank/Brute go nuts Numpad + - all pets... err... all team mates attack my target Numpad - - all pe... all team mates gather Numpad * - all team mates activate your buffs Numpad / - "Heel" targets furthest straying team mate and auto TPs them back to the group. They are then hit with a debuff that physically prevents them from traipsing off alone away from the team for 5 minutes. This debuff can not be removed. Timer must expire naturally. In a perfect world anyhow. 🤣
  14. Know I'm a little late to this party, but... I'm a bit of a chatterbox in-game most of the time, I generally tend to play defs & trollers mostly so if I'm not spamming out buffs/heals constantly trying to keep everyone alive and topped off then I'm cracking jokes or trying to be goofy in chat between hitting the mobs with whatever powers I have off cooldown. Once in a while teams get really weird about that or are just not in a talking mood at all so as soon as the mission I'm on with them is done I'll just drop from the team and go find some new folks to play with. Sometimes the team will join in and we'll all have a riot just joking around with one another as we're cracking skulls and kicking butt. Really all is all just about random luck and bumping into people on the right or wrong day from what I can tell. In terms of the challenge thing, not much I can add that hasn't already been said, but as far at the teams being too quiet... Well, make more of an effort at being sociable in the team chat and generally people will respond in kind (from my own experience any how).
