The arguments against opening up the pools with the same limitations there are now as far as precursors, and maintaining the limit of 1 new one have no meat. There Is no logic any more for keeping it to 4. All the added powers to the pools are deep where some big decisions need to be made if people want to go balls deep in them. looking at my own characters I typically use about 7-8 pool powers total and 2-3 epics. The most I’ve ever used in the game was, 3 from force of will, 1 from speed, 2 from leadership and 3 from fighting. That’s 9 powers on my em/ice. This left me room for the necessary powers for my playstyle in primary and secondary and I took 2 epics. If I dove deeper than that I’d have a very hard time parting ways with the remaining powers, and would likely be sacrificing quite a bit. Opening the pools won’t make it roflcopter easy. It just makes some characters more interesting. I’d be all for removing fluff precursor picks or the ability to respec out of starting powers which often get pushed aside later in game, I’d love to just see something different. Considering how many new powers were added it just seems fitting to allow more flexibility.

I still see no answer for the point I made about adding more pools yet not adjusting the amount accessible. The last thread you guys made it all about it hasten, the other pool thread is a mixed bag. The devs made a decision to stick tier 9 level powers in the pools without addressing existing tier 9 powers and it still didn’t break the game. Now you have 4 choices out of 11 instead of 4/8 but that’s okay. Many would be okay with limiting the new 3 to 1 but having 5 pools would open up so many possibilities and combos and if people dive in, they are giving up something elsewhere. Hardly gamebreaking. I’d love it on test if they could open it up for actual gameplay testing.

Respec Failed & lost all unassigned RARE enhancement
Incursion replied to CountVampyro's topic in Help & Support
Dont respec with pending levels period. Fails everytime. I did it in my base but luckily had no inventory loss/issues -
If you add more pools which has been done (3 more in fact), and you keep it locked to only one, 5 pools is only fair because it allows you to do whatever you want with the other 4 and dip into one of these if you so choose. Or just get a 5th because all the other pools had powers added also.

You've always been a respected player and poster, hope you fare better than I on this subject. I think only 4 pools is silly especially since we have access to 1 extra pool (because the new one's don't stack as you pointed out,) and it just doesn't make sense as players should be able to build how they wish. Part of the issue with them stacking the new sets is because they decided to put Tier 9 like powers in each of them, which i think would have been better suited for the ancillary/patrol pools but i digress. It is nice to have the powers of course, but i do see balance issues with someone chaining rune of protection, unleashed potential, and in some cases (for melee) running their natural tier 9 and an optional epic like shadow meld (which arguably would be a great power if it lasted more then 12 usable seconds (worth of its on thread). I like choice and would love to see things opened up more though.

Additional Appearnce of Powers Suggestions
Incursion replied to divinedragongod's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Bio armor is just so ugly, I know it’s good set but just can’t get over the appearance.....would love to just turn some of the effects off. There’s others too, be nice if it were per power across the board as an option. -
Awesome thank you for posting this

Something odd with mission, Can't talk to Flambeaux, she just stands there pounding her fist like she's taunting an imaginery enemy, even after clearing all the surrounding mobs. There's also a locked overhead door that you can access from both sides but not open, and couldn't find the clicky, well at least until i faceplanted and took a trip the hospital and logged.

Whip Melee, Because Whips are Cool
Incursion replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Get my inner richter belmont on. I like it. -
OK, this one might be completely stupid, and I don’t even know if it’s possible. I do think it might be a lot of fun though and a good change of pace. After playing a mission as deadlock or whatever his name is in Kings Row last night, it was actually pretty cool to play a character in the story through their eyes. I would love to see some sort of trial, or task force, or maybe just a couple of missions where the player takes on the role of one of the iconic characters. Maybe it’s a 5 to 8 person task force where each player is randomly given a role at the start of the first mission, kind of like how temp powers are distributed to different players. I remember those events back in the day when the developers would play as their signature character, it was pretty cool seeing them out there. I think it would be even more fun to give them a spin. Maybe there’s a villain version and a hero version, just thinking off the top of my head here.

I understand your concerns, some people might want to play the double agent, or a reformed version of that enemy group. I’m actually more interested in character design in AE character creation for this particular suggestion, but I can see some of these event like custom pieces being sought after. I think I put the suggestion in the AE form a while ago, The ability edit an enemy mob so that it could maintain original appearance but have custom powers. To further that it would be cool if those custom powers like buzzsaw etc could be used with the custom characters power pool choices. Would need some limits of course but would be neat. i was playing my level 11 yesterday and came across that arc where you play the solo mission as deadlock and beat up back ally brawler. That small power tray had some fun stuff in it. Anyways I’m sidetracking here.

Please get rid of the Fear effect on Assault Rifle>Ignite
Incursion replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I respect your point of you, I get that you don’t want things to be too easy either. Give everyone what they want, the game gets water down. Truthfully I think that’s what the Original devs did when they introduced the incarnate system, but I digress. I don’t see how fear increases difficulty when it comes to mobs running around like chickens with their heads cut off, especially as a secondary effect were the intention is to do dmg to them. I think fleeing as a control factor makes sense as it’s intended. Are people using ignite because it does damage or because they want mobs to scatter and not take dmg? Depends on point of view I suppose. -
Ability to Attune an IO that isn't slotted
Incursion replied to Incursion's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I really had no idea. I have been doing super packs. Slotting, attuning and removing/using. In retrospect, now at least I understand why when I removed some I/O sets from one character the other day that were attuned, and sold them on the market because I didn’t need them any longer, they went for the same price as the standard ones. I was actually a little bit surprised, but just figured oh well people are bidding frugally and that was that. I didn’t realize I was literally wasting money by selling them attuned -
Ability to Attune an IO that isn't slotted
Incursion replied to Incursion's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Truth be told, I never knew until I read the comments here that you can convert standard ATO‘s to the superior version using the market. I always thought they were two different stacks. Perhaps implementing some sort of mechanical feature to boost and a tune your enhancements, the stacks can be separate. To me that makes more sense than having the market gimmick convert these for you. Attuned enhancements should go for 1 to 2,000,000 more than lower version as the catalyzing has cost. -
Please get rid of the Fear effect on Assault Rifle>Ignite
Incursion replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If it means more fun, helps out a pretty poor set do a little better, then yes! Fear is a flawed mechanic as evident by the drastic changes taken back in issue 3 or 4. Melee wanting enemies near them is probably almost always true, they do get some ranged attacks in their epics for fleeing mobs, just to feel cool, whatever the reason. Sets like blasters have secondary littered with close combat/melee so even though they are a ranged AT, It's not always in their best interest for mobs to fun away. Layers of complexity i do agree with, it should be interesting. there's a line though between interesting and frustrating or annoying. I think mobs fleeing is annoying. It reminds of that last couple mobs running around in the warehouse with half health and you're doing a defeat all mission. -
Contact window, just put the range in. It’s actually pretty messy. One contact in atlas giving out level 10-11 missions and some in KR giving out lvl 8.

Ability to Attune an IO that isn't slotted

Be nice if all those fancy work benches in base construction actually did something, like attuning, combining and +into. Mechanics are probably the biggest obstacle. -
Ability to Attune an IO that isn't slotted
Incursion replied to Incursion's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hurts their experience? How? Just making it less clunky then slot enhancement, catalyze, unslot, move to another character, base storage which has zero cost, or sell. The only thing more annoying when it comes to slots is plus 5ing one at a time. But whatever I guess. -
Ability to Attune an IO that isn't slotted
Incursion replied to Incursion's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don’t align with that motto, because rarely does everyone agree on everything, in my view it’s more of a situation like do no harm. You will make some people, hopefully most happy, and if the rest are in different then that’s a win. I don’t sell anything attuned myself, but I do use the market when I feel the need. I tend to use one or two characters as my piggy bank, and I do most of my crafting, pack buying etc. with those characters. Then I just sort of spread the wealth amongst my characters. Some of the winter sets for example, I don’t have slotted on that character so I can’t easily slide it in and out. I’m just looking for convenience more than anything else. I am perfectly happy with a cost involved, my time is worth more than influence. -
Ability to Attune an IO that isn't slotted
Incursion replied to Incursion's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Makes sense, and I don’t even mind paying for it if there was a mechanic to take my money. It would just speed things up a little bit -
Not sure if this is possible. currently mulling it over as i'm playing right now. using an alt, have winter IO's in my base, would love to attune and slot them without removing them from another character, then replacing etc.
-
Yeah that is a great idea, but who knows about the mechanics. ouro obviously uses the task force system for whatever coding reason. Thank you for the level info, i think i was nerfing myself a holding at 5, but i did manage to run the level 4 original contacts at 5. I grabbed them al before actually leveling, not sure if that mattered or not. I'm going to try to stick it out, but man it isn't easy 🙂

Make ignore vanish someone from your sight
Incursion replied to TheSpiritFox's topic in Website Suggestions & Feedback
OP is correct, can only ignore but you still see that there is a reply and that it is hidden. I had someone on ignore and i ended up un-ignoring them because of that dumb tag, and now i'm actually reading their posts lol. -
Please get rid of the Fear effect on Assault Rifle>Ignite
Incursion replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think that's the most thought out suggestion that tries to meet in the middle. I have no issue with ignite dealing more damage than burn to be fair, burn is also part of an armor set that offers status protection. -
Not a bad idea. I'd be okay with having to make 1 pick in either my primary or secondary, but not 2 picks. Melee typically gets an integral power in their armor at the start, so maybe your idea 1 travel pick makes sense, and then they choose 2 out of the 3 options on primary/secondary Character Respec fits it best in my view though as you've already been forced to try the power, see how the set works, then choose to opt out of maybe a power or 2 that you don't use later on. If you use it, great those would be your picks. I still haven't seen any good examples of how this would harm the game outside of one comment that said people could make an ineffective character. Respec's are easy to obtain, and this game is quite old, I think the focus should be making changes that are fun and give players a little more freedom than in the pay to play days.
