  1. Truly the best gaming community I've ever been a part of. I've been playing this game my entire adult life when i think about, and now 20 years later i'm sharing this game with my 7 year old. Incredible job to the people putting in so much time and effort, thank you so much.
  2. I'm late to this topic but damn that is sad. Played a lot with him during my time in Hero and Have A Nice Day. We often coordinated a lot of PvE and base raid stuff with Earthguard. Marut was such a nice guy, had some great talks with im over teamspeak.
  3. ET is the best power in the set, if energy needs anything I would say a bigger radius for whirling hands of wider cone for power crash because the aoe is the the only lacking hard in energy. Arguments that the aoe should be lackluster are well noted as it’s a single target powerhouse set. Power crash even with energy focus is very underwhelming, none of this had to do with lightning rod except maybe show where things would need to fit in if they were worth considering at all.
  4. Text input would be cool, don’t think a filter would be problematic and like any person dressed up like wolverine, Superman etc players will report and action will be taken. I’d assume a profanity/word filter would be applied here.

  7. A proper block function (like Facebook) where neither party sees each other’s post would be great.
  8. Would be nice to skip boxing or kick to get tough. It’s cool they’ve added some stacking with the powers and cross punch, but that’s a big investment to go from subpar to mediocre.

In summary - this proposed change will - enable more combinations of powers across the board - comes at the cost of power selections - allows more pool dependent thematic choice - may marginally improve improve player performance, depending on factors such as AT, primary and secondary choices as some are more power selection/slot heavy than others. Addtional thoughts on the subject - I don’t believe any pool power should feel mandatory - you still have to make hard choices, i choose fun/character creation over perceived difficulty of this change which is really derivative of ones choice as many other factors in this game have already enabled power creep. - game does not have a new reward system after filling out IO’s and incarnate abilities which are quite simple to do. There’s no challenge to farming for emperyian merits (by increasing by vet levels). - There is no task force or trial that is too difficult for any team of 8 of appropriate level and shifting. adding a little more versatility in builds will add more fun than the perceived challenge of a little easier choice in my opinion this change would quiet many other pool related requests as it will benefit all and allow enough flexibility for something new at the same time not be a free for all. I don’t care how you like to play, don’t care how you build, if your a nice person and want to run some missions, cool. No judgement if you role play your whole way through. Do what is fun for you. All I ask is that you respect others if they want to play differently. Min/maxers don’t need this change, they just want to continue to play with a little more spice, at least that’s what I want to do on my power builds. I have some cool concept toons that would love this and won’t be anywhere near overpowered, as they are built for just something unique. this is my last post putting forth arguments on this subject. Thank you to those who had a spirited debate and kept it clean.
  11. It’s easy to do, build the build without that pool and leave leave out selections that will be used in the other pool. Get your totals, then get the total of just that extra pool and add it up.
  12. Thank you from actually putting some thought in. Some character builds will have improvement more noticeable than others. Rare iOS are easy these days. No more 100 mil recipes and enhancements these days etc. fully iOd in your example how much better will your open pool concept be in reality?
  13. I’m not advocating for limitless play. I’m arguing for opening more than 4 pools.
  14. Why when I can express myself here to make positive changes? This isn’t the 2012 anymore, this game needs updates, this server has dedicated developers donating their time to make that a reality, while you encourage me to play on other servers to experience some changes that have been asked for since 2004. That is contrary to being a member of this community and offering suggestions and feedback. So, instead of showing me actual overpowered build outs that you guys claim will happen, you argue out of speculation and fear over improvements that may mean something to a significant amount of people. Obvious it’s a popular topic for a reason.

  16. And these changes wouldn’t make it any more easy or hard for that matter. Opening these pools does offer hard choices because you have to give up stuff in your primary or secondary/epic to take them....so yeah there’s that. Also, challenge is what you make of it, not what someone else is doing. Nobody is forcing you to change your picks.
  17. That’s a fair point of view, at least you show willingness to try. I guess it could be a power creep for certain builds, but nothing earth shattering. For min/maxers or those close to it, They’re already chosen what they don’t need out of their primary and secondary, so any more choices they make thereafter would require very careful consideration as you still need to step into some of these pools with useless picks to get what you want. i understand the balance reasons but it really sucks to literally waste pix on stuff you may not even put in your power tray because you don’t have the slots for it or just don’t like it. fighting pool is the biggest offender. Both tier 1 options are attacks instead of being 1 attack and 1 of something else like most of the others. People just want tough/weave and boxing and kick often just sit by the wayside as they have plenty of better options in their primary/secondaries. i think we are overthinking here In terms of this causing balance issues, but at the same time I don’t want to break anything so it would be amazing to have a test environment to actually try it. Not some closed dev crap that cryptic used to do In order to justify Jacks ego. There were some very heated and frustrating topics in the old days. Threads miles deep. Anyway I’m droning. Back to real life.
  18. To any min/max player they will consider some powers requirements for some or all characters, again so what? Because they play a certain way the game can’t add some flexibility to make it more enjoyable? It’s almost like you don’t agree with a certain play style so any advancement to their benefit you shoot down, even if it gives you more creative choice as well. You talk about norms from the beginning yet we have the following p2win vendor offering double XP, every prestige power, every utility power for mere influence. we have super packs that hand you merits, AE missions that can power level a character to 50 in 3 hours, incarnate abilities which blow most bonuses out of the water and create god mode, yet here we are arguing about having extra pool powers that still come at the cost of powers in your primary and secondary. It’s math plain and simple. It’s not like anyone is proposing adding more powers to the game and opening up pools. I’ve suggested being able to respec out of mandatory primary and secondary powers to dive deeper into these expanded pools, but as usual gets shot down by the I don’t want change the game. The same game that a giant company shuttered because it couldn’t make enough money. Everytime the devs made Huge blunderous decisions more people left. That’s the legacy that people are staunchly defending.
  19. Let’s hope you are outvoted because that logic makes no sense. Some people feel strongly about certain selections, so what? That doesn’t impact you, so no skin off your back, I don’t see why you guys vote it down, it will allow people to experiment in other ways. In the old days people would cry that this will only help the PLing and make more noobs. Yeah that argument never held up, now you can have double xp weekend 8 hours at a clip and farm missions with 1 damage type. Really? Extra pool powers is this big game breaker? It’s pure math, you select more pool powers you give either a primary, secondary or epic pick away. It’s an even trade and encourages build diversity. I don’t know why it scares people so much. I always hear, but incursion, that’s “how you play the game”, but all I’m hearing from the no Crowd is we want you to keep playing our way, and be stuck with limited choice as the game adds more stuff to this area. I don’t think they added these origin like pools so people wouldn’t try them. He look at these shiny powers....don’t even think about it unless you want to lose that hasten or that self heal or that hover. Bad bad bad
  20. Exactly, this simple change would only make the argument against other suggestions stronger as it will satisfy other requests by attrition.
  21. It’s not hard to hit tab and see the difference between a player and a enemy group. It’s actually nearly impossible to confuse the two. If you do target your teammate you’ll simply attack their target. Silliness. They give some of these options during events already.
  22. Still don’t see any good reason not to open the limit on how many pools. Still costs power selections, deeper you go the more you lose elsewhere. Why even bother adding more pools to the list if it’s got the same limit since launch. God forbid someone use hover with mystic flight. Let’s make believe T4 incarnates don’t exist easy because that’s not gamebreaking in and of itself.
  23. I sometimes go leadership instead of flight, maneuvers, tactics and if I'm on a build in hard need of a LoTG mule, vengeance. I've been experimenting with force of will and sorcery. I do like them. I have a few concepts that would take very little out of the primary and really focus on some pool stuff just for something different. Getting rid of the rigid factor would help greatly for those concepts. My min/max heavy hitters probably won't deviate much from where they are now, but that's okay! I hate burner powers though. Another neat idea but may get too complicated would be to keep some of the same rules with precursors but open those later powers at a specific level. For example. for rune of protection, the earliest you can obtain is at level 20 and you have to have 2 powers before it. What if you decide you only want mystic flight, maybe rune opens up later at level 30 or even as late as 41. This way it would take a little planning and be less likely to be able to stack more higher tier pools in the same manner because it will conflict with some late picks like patron or ancillary powers. edits - some lite grammatical changes
