I've been recently browsing different builds and trying to learn how to use IO sets better, without min/maxing but trying to get the most out of the power as well as the set or at least some balance of the two depending on the powers/AT. For the last few years I've always 4 slotted health with two Numinas and two Miracles, heal and then proc from both sets. Set bonus gives a high regen and a decent recovery for the set bonus on top of the addition of the procs themselves. Recently I've seen some people either 1 slotting one of those two procs or health 2 slots with both of those procs. I've seen people use the Panacea proc (only gives regen in PVE, if I'm reading it correctly?) Somewhere along the line I came across the idea of putting the proc from Performance Shifter into Stamina. Game. Changer. LOL all of my toons now get 4 slot double proc in health and 3 slotted Stamina with the one proc by the early 30s. I just got curious about how others slot them and why. I understand sometimes sloting is tight so 4 slots in heal and 3 in stamina isn't feasible... How do you do it and how does it work out though?

First off, is it broke? If thats the case then everything else here is pointless lol Second and most importantly, where should I put it on a WS to get the most out of it? I perused through some builds and I found it in two different places, Dark Detonation and Dark Extraction. DD makes sense for a proc from what I remember (the higher the activation time... or was it recharge?) and I'd imagine the AoE of DD would give it more chances to fire off... but I could be wrong. I'd guess there must be a reason people are putting it in DE though, unless they're mistaken. Third, it says "Global" in the name, but on the Wiki it's listed as a proc... Well, which is it?! LOL I need to respec my WS but I'm not sure where to put this thing lol
-
He's the wrong one though! lol

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it. I just can't make it seem feasible in my mind to intentionally get purples or ATOs.

For the mostpart, all I do is Task Forces. Its a fair bit of merits rewarded, unless it happens to be WST. I start all my toons off working towards Task Force Commander as well as any TFs that give credits towards accolades (Moonfire for example). By the late 30s I generally have 300ish merits (probably more if I get the explore badges), but why get 3 purples I can't use then when I could get 6 recipes for a build? I do like the mention of using Hero merits to transfer regular merits though, I wasn't aware of that. Thats way better than transfering a merit at a time, I'll have to use that tip. Speaking of tips, I was so glad when I found out about the /ah command, I hope more people have learned about that change. Still, too bad it doesn't work in SG bases. MC is a great place to get purples. All of my toons run one by the time they hit 50. You're at the mercy of RNG though, and I may have close to ten from this method but no full set of any that are availible. I don't spend enough time playing endgame content to fill in the gaps from MC RNG, I much prefer the content from the late 20s, 30s, and early 40s. I'm pretty sure that lowers my chances of getting a purple drop though, but I could be wrong. I'm sorry, nothings going to convince me to grind out for purples/ATOs. This build was more expensive than I had hoped and if I like it as much as I think I'm gunna have to go back and rebuild my Ice Dom. The only reason I had the infl on hand was from the mapserver event and I only did that cause I couldnt get people to join my TFs so I got bored.

I did actually try a version of the toon in MIDS with higher movement speeds, I didn't like what I'd have to sacrifice to get sprint speeds without sprint. That's an idea I'd like to implement into a build when it's viable, but this isn't the place. While I was attempting that I did stumble across the debuff resistance on the Synapse end mod set bonus' though so that's a plus. I see what you're saying about Smite, and it would come in handy with Combat TP but I'd have to lose something else. At this point I can't fathom what I'd lose to have it. I like the two PBAoE attacks cause they spread -tohit all around and one of them has a control function. Smite may hit hard but it's an ST attack and those PBAoE powers help more than just myself. Thinking about it, I may have to set a bind to get into the mob and then back out. Right now I've got back 60ft and L/R 20ft. hmm, pondering. Overall though, I have to playtest the build and see what needs tweaked further.

I actually didn't notice I sloted Moonbeam differently than you and I fixed that. With Gloom I specifically didn't want the movement speed increase, but I did change around the slotting so I had a higher DPS from thar power. for some reason I didn't notice the dps values in MIDS even though I did realize it doesn't show damage with the rest of the values. Life Drain... I've known since I got that power that its a heavy hitter but I've always just used it as a heal when I need it. With CTP, you're thinking "in" which is how I use it on my melee toons. With Blasters and Doms I use it as an "out". Move in and fire off some PBAoE powers and get out. On my ice dom I have the melee powers, but IMO Shadow Field seems unreliable (hence the lockdown mag 2) so I'm reluctant to stay in melee range and want a reliable healing power that heals well (Life drain with a heal slotted and Soul Consumption) and I'm hoping once I get done slotting it that I can close that gap a bit. Once its slotted I can do another respec if I feel like things need to be changed more. As I've leveled this dark Dom it seems more like a longer ranged character due to how the powers work. My Ice/Ice Dom can get in melee range no problem with the reliable hard controls. My elec/fire Dom is more mid range.

But Snarky it IS because they are expensive! LOL If I used those three I mentioned in my builds, I'd still be working on the two builds I did last week. The other reason is cause sometimes I add things into a build before I'm 50. Like that Claws/regen scrapper I was doing last week, he wasn't 50 yet and he was mostly built by the time he hit it. Hell, by the thirties I already have Miracles, Numis, the Performance Shifter proc, and one or two LotGs slotted in. I know, that only counts the purples but still... they're expensive lol I could honestly probably figure out a method to add in purples, ATOs, and PVP sets but I've survived this long without them so meh lol

I combined the last one I posted with the one you posted and ended up at 193.75% without hasten, little more S/L on def and resist and kept the TP pool and have some debuff resistance. I'm really trying to teach myself to use Combat TP in all my builds and it was going well last night on a +4 ITF. I've got CTP usage down on my melee toons but I set the binds up a bit differently on the squishier toons and theres a bit of learning to do with it. I may not want to set the build up around incarnates, I do always have some trouble picking which one would give the most bang for each toon. Any suggestions? I haven't looked at the one you just posted yet but I changed some things around. I'm not really sure what recharge numbers tell me how close I am or even if I'm at perma-dom though. Celina Wild - Dominator (Darkness Control - Dark Assault).mbd

What about the pets? The pets from Haunt aren't always up but they can be up more often with recharge, but if I put the pet bonus auras in them does it effect both of them or does it just effect the one that the set is slotted into? In case that doesnt make sense, if I put Expedient Reinforcement with the bonus resist aura in Umbra Beast does that aura effect Haunt or just Umbra Beast?

If and when I exemplar, I don't generally go under 20ish and I doubt you need a IO'd out build under that anyways. I don't farm at all... ever... lol and I havent always had that much luck playing the market. I know its easy to get influence but I just don't play with the goal of making it. If it takes too long to get the build full of IOs, I'm going to get bored and frustrated with it and leave it on the shelf. The priorities are recharge, accuracy/tohit, damage, and recovery. I think my recovery may be ok at mid to low 3/s, I usually run melee toons at high 3/s or low 4/s, but the end useage of darkest night worries me.
-
First off, I dont want to use purples, ATOs, and pvp sets. I also know you always build a dom for recharge to try to hit perma dom. While I will get incarnates, I don't want to base the build around them because I think most of the time I'd be running exemplared. I don't know where to start aside from adding recharge, recovery, accuracy, and damage. I tried to build it like a blaster but I don't need the mez protection if I have domination up, I don't want to add in def/res cause its not a scapper or a brute but a little wont hurt but I don't want to add types that aren't significant. There's so many options and I'm too ADHD to make a choice lol HELP ME! Celina Wild - Dominator (Darkness Control - Dark Assault).mbd

I did disable it in startup lol I completely uninstalled it. I did that months ago and I don't regret it lol
-
I have a naga also and I wholeheartedly unequivocally agree the software is the downside. I uninstalled it and Windows boots faster and generally runs so much smoother. The only downside is that I can't have colours I choose on my keyboard and mouse. The bigger downside is I can only use two of the three swappable side pieces for the Naga mouse and it seems there is no alternative way to make it work. Although, my right arrow key has retired recently.

QOL Feature: Option for No Temp Powers in Tray on Respec
LKN-351 replied to twozerofoxtrot's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I always do respecs in my SG base, but before I leave I have always organized my trays. Today I did two respecs. I got done with the first one and wanted to go buy something on the auction house. I zoned out of the SG base and while it was loading the zone I realized I hadn't organized my powers.... Meh, oh well I'm just typing /AH anways. Appeared in the zone and noticed my power trays were how they had been before the respec. I thought, Did I cancel the respec?? Did I fail it?? WTaF?? Checked my screenshot from before the Respec and the powers where correct... aside from the two powers I got rid of having the new powers I picked up in their spots. Rest wasn't in a tray and walk was in its previous spot. I did the second respec with the intention of zoning afterwards this time, just to make sure it wasnt something else or a fluke. Afterwards I zoned and since I didn't lose or add any powers everything was just where it was supposed to be.... aside from adding in the prestige sprint alternates and the mentioned walk/rest swap. TL;DR Repec then zone, powers mostly stay put. -
I ran the Impervious Skin more for the Status resist than the regen, so that works then. Somehow I did that twice with the LotG. Makes sense, but I wasn't that worried about that. Good to know though. It's Mids' Reborn v3.6.6 rev 3, Database: Homecoming, Database Issue: 27 Page 7, Database Version: 2024.2.717 When I logged in to check the version it gave me the popup that no updates where availible. So as long as the auto-update feature works then its current as far as I'm aware. Well good then, I'm glad I had things wrong cause I like wherethe mez resist numbers where in MIDS. Thanks to both of you for clearing this up.

I check that every time I make a revision just in case I don't think about it while I'm adding things. This is like the third or fourth revision of this build. Just to make absolutely certain, I'll check it again before I make this post...... Still not too many of anything. I intended to post the mids build here as well but I forgot so i'll do that now. What primaries fit well with Energy aura and what makes them fit well?
-
I've been trying my hand at IO builds on mids and then making them ingame and I started working on one and had the numbers in MIDS to a place I liked them. I got the build Live and checked to make sure I was seeing the expected numbers. There was a tiny difference in defense numbers, a small difference in regen rate, but a pretty significant difference in mez resists, immob protection, and regen debuff. I don't think the difference in immob protection is that big a deal and the regen debuff is higher ingame but its still not the same. For my tests I've been focusing on Mez Resists specifically and there is an 11.18% variance between MIDS and the game. At first I thought it was something I did wrong so I double checked that things where toggled where they were supposed to be and still I saw differences. So I did a /buildsave and loaded it in mids, and I saw the same differences. Then I imported the build from MIDS into Beta and slotted all the enhancements in the same places I had them in MIDS, same differences. This morning I decided to add up the set bonuses and the global procs to see if the issues was with MIDS or with the game. The set bonuses and globals add up to 70% in both programs, but 11.18% is missing from the game. Where did it go? Why did it go? Make it come back! I don't wanna be confused! Why do the devs hate Regen!

Variance between MIDS and game
LKN-351 replied to LKN-351's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
I just added up each set bonus and proc that effected mez resistance and between mids and the game... the game is where the difference is. They both list the exact same bonus but the game isn't using 11.18% of my listed set bonus. I only did the math on the mez risistance but there where variations elsewhere as well, mez was just the largest variance. -
Variance between MIDS and game
LKN-351 replied to LKN-351's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
Last night after I posted the MIDs build download I went onto Brainstorm, which is where I took the pics from earlier in this thread, typed in /buildsave and loaded that into MIDs and still ended up with 70% mez resist vs the 58% ingame. I did this all on brainstorm, but just so its stated, I also had the same ingame numbers listed on live. So it's definitely not skewing numbers between Live and Brainstorm. Later today I might go though the build and add up the listed percentages for the sets between live and MIDs. -
Variance between MIDS and game

I did finally figure out how to do that lol Xcessive Force - Scrapper (Claws - Regeneration).mbd -
Death is the best debuff, I read that in someones signature lol I mean, if you're gunna put effort into making as much dmg as possible from the core aspects, why not use the proc from Scirocco's Dervish? It ticks the dmg from the power and also ticks the dmg from the proc which adds DPS. There was a thread recently that was talking about this tactic specifically. I'll find it and link it. EDIT: I didn't notice that you used the energy DMG proc I know where the absorb proc came from, but what added to it? Mine is 367.19 (27.42% of base HP) and yours is 374.56 (27.97% of base HP) its not much different but it is different. Its not incredibly important but I just wonder what made that change.
