Just to be sure I'm not misunderstood, I do like Dark Miasma as it stands however, I will never advocate for Black Hole. It's trash and if it were removed from the game tomorrow, you'd hear no complaints from me. My Dark/Dark Fender (my favorite Defender) holds the record for shortest time between "lets give this power a try" and "oh gawd! I need to respec!". I have no beef with P.Gaze though, it's not the best single target hold in the game but it's fine imo.

Where is the artwork at the bottom of the OP from, it's lovely! Khelds still intimidate me a bit, I'm a dirty clicker and is seems like binds are pretty important to playing them well. I could probably convert them to macros but I suspect that's not very efficient. At some point I'll definitely try them and I'll be referencing this guide heavily! Thanks!

I remember about 2 or 3 years ago, I was put into a group project at work and the project number ended with 1337. When I saw that I chuckled and someone else on the team (younger than me) asked why I laughed. I was like "ya know 1337! I'm so 1337 I noscope newbs! Ya know like leet speak" and the whole group stared at me like I had 6 heads... Nobody had a clue what I was talking about! Never felt so old....

This is where I land on it too. Dark Miasma is already in a very good place and I don't believe any changes are needed at this time. If one were to put a gun to my head and demand 1 change to Dark Miasma, I'd be much more interested in pursuing biostems suggestion. Black Hole is lame...

Salutations champions! These days I tend to prefer a small 2-3 person (sub-50) team. I still frequently join full teams/leagues and certainly have fun on them but there is something extra fun to me about setting x8 and rolling into a double mob and slaughtering them with your wildly outnumbered tiny team! My personal favorite trinity would be Tank, Blaster, Troller and if only a duo (mostly the case for me) then just a Tank and a Blaster. A buddy and I duo regularly and I swear we've tried every combo of ATs but nothing is ever smoother than Tank and Blaster (though a pair of stalkers seems to come close!). To go a step further with it a Rad Armor Tank and a Fire Blaster are a beautiful thing! Before it comes up, of course no duo/trinity is required for anything and I'm not claiming this is the "best" combo or way to play. Just saying I find this to be great fun and was curious if anyone else had a favorite tiny team make up.

As everyone has said, farming without a Tank/Brute is sorta possible but just isn't very efficient. At least not on traditional farm maps. Here is what I would do. Make yourself a troller/dom with good CC and Damage (probably lots of procs). I recently used a Arsenal/Trick Arrow for this to great effect. Then instead of going to the traditional farms, talk to Tina Mac in Portal Corp in PI, she will introduce you to Uni. His first mission is a big Banished Pantheon map, great for farming Masks if you want that badge but I'd just set it low and complete as fast as you can. You want his second mission. This is a large city map filled with Council Empire (old school council) and some blinkies. Your troller/dom will easily be able to CC them (essentially negating your lack of taunt) and burn them down with relative ease even at 4x8. The only thing that hurts is the high kicks from the bosses but with decent def/res you shouldn't take enough of those to be a real problem. Just slaughter all those jabronies, don't touch any blinkies and reset. If for some reason you can't get Uni as a contact or you already completed his mission the AE mission "Council Simulation" is the same mission. Fair warning: you will not get xp/inf as fast as a Brute on a traditional farm but it will be way faster than trying to take a troller to a traditional farm. Ill attach the troller build I was using since it worked very well but I'm certain there are any number of combos that will work for this, it's pretty forgiving to a decently built toon of almost any AT. Controller (Arsenal Control - Trick Arrow) 2 many procs pre 50 v1.3 fire epic and tp Arseman.mbd (slightly modified from Onlyasandwich's build)

I'm hoping that the latest patch is sufficient to please most folks and make your suggestion unnecessary but I love the concept! As you said, those zones are a window to the past, it's almost poetic to have the old version of tot implemented there!

What an interesting lunchtime read, thanks for putting this together! I had heard a couple bit and pieces of that over the years but it was mostly brand new info to me. I lament to loss of additional ATs to that game just for the added diversity we missed out on but at least some of them morphed into other thing that made it into the game. I'm ashamed to admit that despite having multiple 50s of every other AT (well, just 1 Widow and 1 SOA), I've never made it to 50 on a PB or WS. They just never clicked with me and they stalled out in the low 30s but they're both on my bucket list! I'll get to them eventually 🙂

Good to hear! I just hit 16 on the new Dark/Storm so I still have a ways to go before I can slot them but I have 2 planned for the build! Ice blasters are so much fun! They have like 30% Troller DNA!

I agree with all this! My solution for the bank missions would be to let us call the Detective. Then you could call him and turn down the bank and I could call him after I complete the bank so I don't have to run back across the zone for the Detective to give me a high 5 and a new contact and I can finally get that "return to contact" mission off my list! It's probably one of those things that can't be changed but a boy can dream!

As I understand it, a Hami-o or D-Sync will only enhance the stats that the power will accept. Aid Other doesn't accept range enhancements so you would only gain the benefit of the Heal part of any hypothetical Heal/Range D-Sync.

My only beef with fold space is how it arranges baddies. Occasionally it'll nicely clump them up but more often it drops them in 1 long conga line. Just 1 long single file line and if you got a good number of baddies, that line is a good bit larger than a fire rain or ice patch or similar. I want to love it more but its more a novelty on the toons that I've taken it with.

Thanks guys! I'm building out a dark/storm troller so Dark Grasp was the power I was looking at but I didn't want to make the question so specific. Dark Grasp takes both and that's what got me thinking about the comparison. It sounds like it's probably not worth slotting them both into the same power. I'm tight on slots anyway so I think I'll go with the Devastation if it has the better proc chance.

Hey folks, I'm currently planning a new troller and I'll proc out the single target hold. I like the Lockdown proc in there to get bosses held in 1 attack but got curious about the other hold proc. Devastation vs Lockdown, is that an advantage to either one? Is there any benefit to using both? Bonus round: do you have any oft overlooked procs you'd suggest? (I usually throw 1 acc/hold, 1 Lockdown proc, and 4 damage procs in there.)

We recently had a very similar thread and mostly the consensus was that it becomes too easy to game the system and there isn't really a strong reason for extra rewards for the leader. I think Ms Laucianna made a very strong point in that thread. "The incentive already exists in the fact I can run whatever I want to as a leader, whether that be a Trial, TF, Missions, RP hang out sessions in Pocket D etc. It's not a burden I am forced with and need to be compensated for with temporary powers or extra rewards and I feel if that is the incentive to run a team you will get some people who don't want to lead doing it for the better rewards and Snarky will have a lot more Pug stories to tell about leaders 😄"

The free Black Wand from the START vendor has been wonderful for pulling when I'm on a low level melee toon!

I'd be interested in hearing how you like it. I had a BS/Will Scrap on live and remember it fondly, I felt like a real force of destruction! Then I made a BS/Ice Scrap on HC and I didn't like it at all, felt very weak. I don't think BS has taken any nerfs so I can only chalk it up other sets getting buffed/reworked and leaving BS feeling a bit weak and slow in comparison. I look forward to hearing about your tanking adventure!
