  1. In Mids, if you have a power with 6 empty slots (for example), you can place 1 piece of a set in the first slot and then just middle mouse click all the other slots and Mids will drop the next piece of the set into each slot. I'm just learning this myself so there may be more nuance to it than that but it's pretty awesome! Wish I knew it long ago!
  2. Jeez! I've been using Mids forever and never knew that was a thing one could do! I can't wait to start my next build and make use of this, thank you!
  3. Wow! So much diversity in the ways you all build, it's very interesting! I kind of expected a couple of styles would dominate the responses and there are some commonalities but by and large, everyone has their own system. I'm stealing tips from everyone!!
  4. You're right, not sure how I missed it, my apologies.
  5. I greatly dislike the changes. These groups have just had boring time sinks added to them. Even worse, you get nothing for the added effort. When you kill a Freak you get xp and then when that Freak rez's you kill it again and get another helping of xp. You get nothing but your time wasted by the council that turn into wolves. There isn't even an interesting mechanic involved. With a Super Stunner, you know you have to knock him away or get yourself away before he dies if you don't want him to rez. To go even further, if the Stunner rez's with you nearby he rez's with some life but if he rez's with the whole team around him he gets full life. Sure they can be a pain but there is a game to outsmarting them. With the council, the player has no agency, there is nothing one can actively do to prevent them from turning and you can't affect how much life they turn with. It's all just rng, utterly devoid of creativity. X amount of these will turn and when a boss turns and you effectively kill 2 bosses you get 1 boss worth of xp. If I have to deal with rezzers/turners I'll just avoid the Council and go kill Freaks where at least I'm rewarded for the effort. EDIT: I stand corrected, disregard my blatherings...
  6. Greetings! I'm curious how folks build. The vast majority of builds that can be found on these forums are maxed out 50+ builds with full Incarnates, purples, superiors and the kitchen sink! That makes sense, you want to see what the build is capable of at the highest level but those aren't very useful when you're leveling up. So do you folks start with that uber build and just suck it up until you can put all the fancy bits in or do you level up with a different build and respec post 50? For myself, I used to just suck it up but swapped to making solid functional builds with no Incarnates/purps/superiors for the leveling up process. If I love the toon when it hits 50 it might get a new uber build and if it's just "fine" it'll probably stick with the no purps/no superiors build and slowly unlock incarnate stuff on task force of the weeks or BAFs or something. I find myself enjoying the leveling up more than the post 50 stuff these days so I have to really enjoy it to justify blinging it out. Do you guys just level up on SOs, do you make a leveling build, do you build towards that uber build or something else entirely?
  7. I just pulled the Orb from my Ars/Psi Dom. I was (lvl 33) facing Sky Raiders and the orb would follow teleporters into other mobs, despawn and bring all that aggro right back to me! I've used it before on other Doms and not had any problems and actually quite liked it but it got me killed twice last night. Maybe I'll re-evaluate once I'm 50 but for now it's banned from my build!
  8. Congrats! Looks like fun! I built an arse/psi dom after watching your hydra pylon vid. It's only 34 so far but it's proving to be very powerful! I'll have to give this a try, though I may just run at +0 until I get my sea legs. I really like your strategy though, very slick!
  9. For me, I really dislike the zones. They are dreary, dirty and worst of all hard to navigate. It's like they were designed with the assumption that you have chosen flight as your travel power, Grandville is a nightmare for a super speeder! The red side zones are just not places in which I enjoy spending time. Then there are the enemy choices, Goldbrickers and Luddites are fine but I seem to find myself facing a never-ending stream of Arachnos and Longbow. As a low level solo bad guy they are unpleasant to fight and I'd much rather go fight Trolls/Skulls/Outcasts/Warriors on blue side. Every now and then I get bored of doing the same blue side stuff and I feel like I should go play some red side. I play a couple missions, get frustrated, and head right back to blue side.
  10. I monitor many of the same attributes across all my toons. It would be wonderful if I could just save those attributes on one toon and load them up on another as opposed to selecting them all one by one. I have no idea if that is possible with our 20 year old spaghetti code but a fella can dream! What do you folks think? This is my typical attributes window: Regen recovery damage to hit recharge inf Then relevant Def or Resist.
  11. My apologies, my scenario must have been unclear. In that scenario, my lvl 35 tank was not actively looking for a posi and was perfectly happy to continue doing my radios solo. It was only the lure of joining a team led by an individual with whom I've had positive experiences in the past that got me to leave my hypothetical radio. No exclusion or ignoring of anyone involved. For the record, if I were actively looking for a Posi, I'd most likely start my own and invite the first 7 tells I got or I'd jump on the first one I saw advertised.
  12. And I have already pointed out why this would be more streamlined. I don't think we are getting anywhere so I will simply wish you a wonderful day and say goodbye.
  13. A quick, simple, at-a-glance way to identify good teammates advertising in broadcast, local or LFG with whom you've previously played. There is nothing wrong with the system you suggest, however it's a bit cumbersome and certainly does not fill the quick, simple, at-a-glance role. I think every reasonable suggestion has included a stipulation that this all be optional or be something you have to opt-in to, as such I don't see a downside. If one would like nothing at all to change for them, simply don't select the options that would enable it and continue your virtual crime stopping blissfully unencumbered by these potential options. Options are wonderful and I'd love to have more!
  14. I have a FF Sonic Defender with capped Resist and softcapped Def. I think it's as close as you can get to a tank while playing a defender 🙂. He doesn't kill...er...arrest... stuff super fast but he has all the time in the world to whittle down their health while laughing at the barrage of punches being hurled at his face. Very fun and unusual toon even if hes not the most practical. Full disclosure, I found the build here in the forums and only made very minor tweaks to suit my playstyle preferences.
  15. Maybe a VEAT? All their double leadership toggles would bring awesome acc, to hit, damage, and defense plus a massive def boost if you go widow and put mind link on auto. As a bonus they are stealthy and tough so they shouldn't attract much attention and they'll be formidable enough to soak up some AOE damage without eating dirt. Otherwise, unfortunately I think most of the good buffs you'd want are click powers. Maybe run a Nature behind you with Overgrowth on auto? Or a FF or Sonic Def with their big bubble toggle running and one of the buff bubbles on auto?
  16. Here is how I see this being very useful. Lets say Goddess Laucianna makes a new toon, shes a level 18 blaster named Betty Blaster and she is advertising a posi pt2 on the LFG channel. I'm just running solo radios in Bricks on a lvl 35 tank not necessarily looking for a Posi pt2. If I see Betty Blaster advertise I may not be enticed to leave my radios to play with an unknown variable. However if I saw Betty Blaster (@Laucianna) advertise in the LFG channel then I already know that leader is someone I've played with before and I have a reasonable idea of what to expect and that may get me to bail on my radio and go join her Posi pt2. The star rating system doesn't really fill this role. It requires that I've rated someone in the past, it requires that person to be in the same zone as me, it requires that I've clicked on the individual and it requires that this person is in my field of view in order to see the stars. This is not an "at a glance" system, it's quite useful but it fills a different role. Just give it the option to opt out, you don't want your global shown, no problem, just turn it off like we do with hiding from searches and stuff. It could even be off by default and you have to turn it on to participate. ( @Laucianna, my deepest apologies for even suggesting that you would ever be caught dead in anything but a kheldian 😄)
  17. I haven't messed with any * content but trollers are fine on high lvl TFs and Incarnate trials. The utility you bring is top notch and while you'll never be a blaster you can put out decent damage with the right build. Dark Affinity has become my favorite troller secondary! I have a Dark/Dark and its great (Shadow Field is awesome!) but the Fire/Dark is my favorite combo. Fire control is a solid control set on it's own and it can pack a decent punch (as far as Trollers go). You can really live in melee thanks to Fade + Soul Absorption + all the -to hit you're throwing around so you get the most out of Hot Feet and spamming Cages. It feels like an unbeatable Tank Mage! Of course the ITF still neuters all your hard controls and that stinks but you can still fall back on your formidable buffs/debuffs.
  18. I like this idea! Like you said, some folks use a theme on all their toons so it's easy to see who it is. "Oh that's Cuddlemaster, looks like they're on Cuddlemaster Apex today, last time I ran with them they were on Cuddlemaster Alpha and we had a good run, lemme snap them up for my TF!" However there are, understandably, few folks that do this and it would be nice to have a quick way of identifying folks who maybe you don't necessarily want to global after 1 good TF but would be happy to run with again, regardless of what toon they are on, if you see them LFT or starting a TF. I suspect I often run with the same folks and just don't know it.
  19. Mainly just a difference in recharge. I ended up respecing to "C" and it feels really good! I went Night Widow and my buddy went Bane, we're 44 now and just melting +2's/+3's set for 8! The only thing that gave us trouble was a giant mob of "Living Armor" bosses in a John Houston mission. Still don't know what they hit us with but we were doing fine for a good while and then suddenly we were both face down in the dirt lol!
  20. Thanks Bopper, I got way too hung up on recharge vs resistance, appreciate the advice! I got her respec'd last night and I'm hoping to take her for a test drive tonight!
  21. I'm leveling a Widow, currently at 30 and she needs a respec. I've put together 4 options, they all take the same powers but moving some slots and swapping some sets make big differences so I was looking for some opinions on which one focuses on the most important stats. These are pre 50 builds so there are no purples, no superiors, no Incarnates and no plus'd out enhancers however it does have the 4 accolades enabled. The only thing worth noting that's not in the picture is that Build A loses 3 bonuses to the rule of 5 (2x accuracy and 1x hit points) while none of the others lose anything. So just going by the stats, which one looks the most appealing?
  22. I think I land on 3. It would be an improvement for certain and I expect it would be an option that I would use but it's so far down on the list of priorities (for me) that I'd preferer dev time be spent elsewhere.
  23. Every toon of mine starts in Mids so I have a plan right from the start. That being said, plans change and sometimes adjustments are needed. I remember not too long ago I was making something (Ice controller I think) with "World of Confusion" in the epic pool. Stacking Artic Air with WoC was the whole reason I started the toon but by the time I got up to epic pool level it was apparent that it was not going to be as beneficial as I was hoping and had to change gears. Best laid plans and all that...
  24. Dark is such an amazing secondary! It can really turn any troller into a tank with softcapped defense and hardcapped s/l resistance. I've decided to try every primary with dark, I only have 3 and a half left (half cuz I'm currently leveling an earth/dark) Plant will be the more traditional lock em down troller set while illusion will be more of an elegant chaos build. Both would be a blast and also very safe and effective builds. I'd give the edge to Illusion for its ability to take down hard targets solo. Even when an AV has their immunity phase where you can't get any holds or stuns off, your Phantom Army is still there taking all those punches for you and laughing! Build em both! Or choose one and then pair the other primary with Storm! They both go great with Storm too and that really kicks up the damage quite a bit! You can't make a bad choice!
  25. Electric control is functional but unimpressive. I have an elec/cold troller that gets very little playtime. It's niche (-end) is cool in theory but it doesn't seem super effective in practice. I seem to have stumbled down a path of pairing every troller primary with the dark secondary, I'm only missing 4 primaries and electric is one of them, can't say I'm super excited to run that one up but maybe it'll surprise me. At least all the -to hit in Dark should help the gremlins stay alive a little longer. Maybe....I dunno...they're very fragile.... Way back on live... you could put the contagious confusion proc in the chain and it worked great to spread confusion but that was removed. I never understood why, it was never better than seeds or total domination and it really helped the set but you know how it goes...
